Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUsed it for a few days and my skin looks glowy af! It takes a few moments to properly rub it in and get rid of the white-cast but aside from that, doesn’t irritate my eyes, no extra spots, hydrating and glowy ski

This is a quality product that is so good for your skin and saves you getting burnt by the sun.
I use it all year round and my skin is so soft and smooth.
    Would highly recommended this product.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAbsolutely love this 30spf face fluid.
So smooth, easy to apply without leaving my sking tight or itchy.
Suffer from dermatitis all my life with a sensitive area around my lips and chin especially. This doesn’t irritate me one bit.
Love the fact it doesn’t have typical spf fragrance.
Will be ordering another one straight away to avoid running out

Great brand and absolutely ideal for those with sensitive skin. Light product that goes on easy without leaving a sticky residue and no scent either. This is a good size for travelling with or just for your handbag for topping over over the course of the day.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis sunscreen is the best sunscreen I’ve ever used. As I am quite into skincare, putting all of those amazing products on my face almost always was spoiled by finishing up with a thick sunscreen that was super difficult to spread. This sunscreen is different – it almost feels like a delicate lotion that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave you feeling like wearing a mask.

Needed a high protection sunscreen due to anti biotic making me highly sensitive to sun just before a California holiday, it worked well, easy to apply and not oily, no reactions formula

I bought this brand because it is sunscreen with skincare and so far it has been amazing, I love the fact there is no white cast and that it absorbs quite well into skin and does leave a greasy residue

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHasn’t broken me out and covers my redness and acne scars enough for me not to feel self conscious about. It’s slightly too dark for me but not enough to look silly. The texture is really nice but I do set with a powder just to make sure it doesn’t look greasy by the end of the day

Suncream works as expected. Still a bit greasy but less so than cheap ones, and still very good value itself. Would buy again.
Hopefully next summer I can use up the rest!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersDoes indeed reduce redness. Moisturising abilities are OK but will not be suited to extremely dry skin. Skin needs to be entirely smooth before applying or it will pill. The colour is a medium tan so not suitable for paler skin tones during the winter season unless you also fake ta

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis cream is very moisturing and certainly gets rid of any redness and skin tones. It blends quite easily with the fingers. The colour does turn a little bit too dark for me, but i am fairly pale. Once blended and the rest of my makeup is applied, it does look very lovely though and adds a bit of colour to my usually red and white face.

This is fabulous value for money. You receive 2X 100ml tubes which last for ages. I gave my spare to my son. Doesn’t leave a white cast or affect make up. Will buy again.

I have been using this daily for over 3 years; this is the best sunscreen.
Each purchase has been consistent, nice(white) easy to apply cream that is not noticeable at all on my skin.
Zero fragrance, high SPF50, Non-sticky, helping a charity, 5stars of me
I will be buying this product again, that’s for sure.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy skin is very light and burns relatively easily, but I have not had any sun burns since I use this sunscreen (have been using it for a bit over a year now, am onto tube #6). I use it daily on my face, and sometimes on my legs / arms – depending on how much I will be outdoors. The sunscreen spreads easily, leaves no white streaks and my skin absorbs the cream very quickly – takes me 2min to be ready to go. It does not smell and while water proof, at the end of the day it washes off just fine.

I also like the tube size (100ml) as it is small enough to put in my hand bag to take with me on particularly sunny days for re-application, but large enough to last a while and to share with others on-the-go. The size is also ideal for travel through airports that still enforce rules on limitations on liquids in hand luggage.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI have always had very fair skin but even so, as a child and into my teens I could tan evenly. In my early 20’s, in Majorca I got what I thought was prickly heat on my upper arms and have gotten it again every summer for the past 15 years. Even just one mildly sunny day in Ireland I will get this heat rash. It is never itchy or painful but is very unsightly and takes months to disappear. There was a segment on This Morning a few years ago which suggested that this reaction wasn’t prickly heat but was an allergic reaction to UVA rays. I have spent the last few years trialling different sun protection lotions, all with 5 star UV protection but with no luck, It turns out, most on the market offer 5 star UVB protection, when what I needed was 5 star UVA protection. There was an article in the NY Times on the allergy to UVA rays, I found the article on it and promptly lost it, but between that article and the segment on This Morning, I have come to the conclusion that I do not get prickly heat, that I have an allergy to UVA rays.

I have trialled SEVERAL sun protection lotions, both pharmacy brand and high end. This Altruist protection is the first sun lotion in 15 years that has prevented a heat rash. I spent a week on the beach in Portugal in < 25 degree sun and nothing. No heat rash and no burn. I cannot recommend this enough. I bought a 30 factor cream and a 50 factor spray. I use them both. I prefer the spray just for ease of use. I wouldn't recommend either for your face if you are in any way sensitive. My eyes stream when I use it on my face. This is the first sun protection I have found that protects me from sunburn & from that awful rash. The synopsis on here tells us that the developers have created this with a view to prevent skin cancer and to benefit children with albinism, I thank them and wish them the very best in their future. If you are looking for a brilliant sun protection for you and your family, please buy this, it is unrivalled in my opinion. (And I've tried a lot).

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI’m quite happy with the results. This product has proven to be effective in covering and minimizing redness on my skin, providing a noticeable improvement in its appearance.

One of the key strengths of this product is its ability to reduce redness. Upon application, I observed a visible reduction in redness, which significantly boosted my confidence. The formula feels lightweight and blends well into my skin, leaving a natural finish that doesn’t look heavy or cakey.

However, there is one aspect that needs attention—the longevity of the coverage. While the product initially covers redness remarkably well, I noticed that the effect tends to fade over time. It requires re-application after a few hours, especially if I’m looking for consistent coverage throughout the day. This can be a minor inconvenience, particularly when I’m on the go or have a busy schedule.

Despite this drawback, I would still recommend the Altruist Dermatologist Anti Redness and Pigmentation product to individuals who are seeking an effective solution for reducing redness and pigmentation. Its ability to provide visible results and minimize redness is commendable, making it a valuable addition to any skincare routine. With a little extra effort for re-application, this product can truly enhance your complexion and boost your confidence.

Overall, I rate the Altruist Dermatologist Anti Redness and Pigmentation product four out of five stars. It delivers on its promises and offers an impressive solution for covering and minimizing redness.

Love this product, it’s light, goes well under makeup as it soaks in and seems to protect me from the sun. But my latest bottle is a lot thicker and doesn’t feel as nice. Hoping it’s just a bad batch and they haven’t changed the product.

I’m mixed race and was slightly horrified by how white it left the palms of my hands. However I applied to my face and was able to rub into my skin without leaving a white/blue cast. I would say my skin is about the same colour as Thandiwe Newton for reference for other black and brown people interested in this cream.

For everyone else, my skin is very oily and left my skin nice and matte throughout the day with a litttle powder. I don’t feel like it’s clogging my pores at all and my eyes aren’t irritated if it’s near to them which happens a lot for me.

Very happy I brought this, my last cream was twice the price and left me shiny!

For years I’ve been looking for a good sun cream. I have very fair skin that burns easily and in my youth I had a horrific sunburn (a waterpark at a high altitude!!!) that nearly hospitalised me. Since then, I’ve been incredibly careful about applying sun cream and wearing hats/protective clothing. I’ve tried just about every high-street brand of sun cream, and some fancy French imports with the hope that I can use it on my face and body at the same time. This is harder than you’d think because my skin is easily irritated in addition to being burnable. Most of the ones I’ve tried have stung on application, had a weird and unpleasant gritty texture, a rank smell — and worst of all, don’t work so well. They may keep me from being fried in the sun but they often make me freckly (which isn’t a slight against freckles – they are a further skin cancer risk for my complexion!). Thought I’d try this on a punt after reading other reviews. The fact that it was formulated by a dermatologist was a selling point, and other reviews seemed promising. THEY WERE RIGHT. This is wonderful sun cream. I put it on my face after serums and moisturisers but before minimal summer makeup, and just use it like I would a body lotion elsewhere. Its price point is great for two bottles – I keep one in my bag and one in the house, so there’s never a reason to be too far from it should a bit of sun appear. Even if you get a bit sweaty, your skin never feels as though it can’t breathe, and the longevity of the cream seems really robust. I would re-apply if out in the sun the entire day (I can’t manage that, I overheat too much), but no burn has yet occurred and I’m preaching its wonders to everyone who will listen (and people with kids – this would be great for children, too!). I’m so grateful for this cream, as I have historically spent less time in the sun because of my complexion and paranoia about skin cancer risks, and now I feel like I will be able to spend more time enjoying the sunny days on my own terms. Thank you so much for this wonderful product!

I was really impressed with this suncream. I don’t usually go off brand but having seen this product was developed by clinical/medical professional staff who are less likely want to make money and rather han make a product for people, I jumped the chance to purchase.

This is also created and makes a charitable donation I felt like it was decent and morally to purchase the cream. The cream as stated is a lovely consistency, don’t smell, thick and feels nice once applied. I drive a lot and feel protected in the sun once I apply the cream. The two 100ml bottles of great size and there they last a long time.
Will buy again when I run out.

Great SPF for face. Works well under makeup. I will definitely buy again. This is now my go to brand for SPF. Have also bought the body cream now and it’s just as good. I am very fair with sensitive skin and haven’t burnt or really caught the sun at all since using this brand.

I was given this originally as my sister was too fair for the finished colour as it does come up quite light/medium tan. I was really surprised how much it reduced any redness and gave a nice overall coverage, it does have a slight dewy finish.
It doesn’t cause me to breakout like normal face SPF and I now use it everyday instead of foundation.
I prefer to put it on with a foundation brush and it covers nicely.
Onto my second bottle now really pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was recommended Altruist by a friend last year, after asking if anyone could recommend a good high factor sunscreen that wasn’t sticky and I could use like a body lotion. I looked it up and was impressed by its credentials and that it donated money to children with albinism in Africa, but what also impressed me was the low price point for such a high quality SPF. We’ve now been using it for a year and I wouldn’t buy another brand – I honestly do not see why you would when this is SO good and ticks all the necessary boxes. It is fragrance free which I actually prefer now I’m in my 40s (doesn’t attract any insects!) but understand some people might like their SPF to smell of ‘holidays’.
I’ve even started using their face wash and other products as I’ve been so impressed with the SPF and would recommend those too.
Formulated by dermatologists and at such a great price point it really is a no brainer. It’s not at all sticky, it’s just like a body lotion.
My dad has just been given the all clear after being diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of skin cancer. He now uses Altruist every day without fail.
Don’t hesitate to buy this, you really have nothing to lose, it’s a fantastic product.

My son suffers badly with any products on his skin, Sun cream this year has been an absolute nightmare, with awful consequences for his delicate skin. I was recommended this product, after a patch test and no reaction we went for it, so happy we tried it, he has been able to safely enjoy the sun without awful skin breakouts. We just have to ensure he’s washing it off throughly everyday. Not sticky and doesn’t leave marks on his skin or clothes. A huge win for us.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA friend recommended Altruist a couple of years ago as my daughter’s reacted to most suncreams that we’ve tried in the past. We tried both the 30 & 50 & I can’t fault either. They both apply well, offer great protection, they’re a good price & my daughter hasn’t reacted to them. I’ve recommended Altruist to family & friends & they’ve been happy too. It’s taken a long time to find a suncream like Altruist that works for the whole family & we’ll be sticking with it. I’d highly recommend giving it a try!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’m not one to review items unless I’m pretty sure I’ve tried and tested it. I first bought Altruist from Amazon a few months ago as I was searching for a sunscreen that didn’t inflame my eczema ( I’m a life long sufferer). My first impression was good, most notably that it didn’t irritate my skin or my eyes. So I repurchased it, but hadn’t tested its effectiveness in strong sunlight. I’ve just returned from a week in Greece and this product is fantastic! No skin irritation, no stinging eyes and no sunburn! Result! I felt confident in the sunshine and I cannot stress how pleasing that is. Eczema sufferers will know that what works for one may not work for all, but I suggest you give this a try. The fact that it’s so reasonable priced means you’ve got nothing to lose.

With this cream, it hasn’t gotten any worse at all and has saved me from burning. I use on my face, neck, decollitage and shoulders. No blocked pores, a really really good cream.

Sadly reacted immediately to this also so i have 2 further tubes to add to the collection for own use. Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis sunscreen came on holiday with me to Spain. It goes on beautifully, is not oily and gives full protection. It was recommended to me by a local dermatologist for its UVA 5 star level, which I wanted to prevent any more aging of my skin.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI have been using this sunscreen for over a year now having previously read a review, and I must say, I think it’s fantastic! I like the fact that it isn’t sticky or greasy and find having sunscreen in a tube makes for an easy application. The tube is the perfect size to carry with you all the time, fitting easily into a handbag. It gives me great confidence knowing that it has been developed by Consultant Dermatologist and Skin Cancer Surgeon Dr. Andrew Burnie, who I assume to be very knowledgeable in the field of sun protection; I also like the fact that Altruist supports children’s charities that help children with albinism in Tanzania and the rest of Africa where most die from skin cancer by early adulthood. All round, a jolly good find!

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI LOVE this sunscreen.

I have dropped it a star and I shall tell thee why firstly it has amazing reviews so my honest star drop isn’t going to affect business and I care about this business! I’ve been buying this for years. BUT this isn’t as waterproof as I’d like, and on my holiday I had to choose a different spf50 for the pool. Now I know spf isn’t that effective in the pool, but my problem comes when I get out and reapply – if my bikini isn’t 100% dry, it will rub this off at the seams and I’m super pale, and I burn in those places. I don’t sunbathe to tan at all, I love to relax, under a shade, but I still burn, and the only way I can stop it is by getting out of the water, removing my bikini to dry it/myself, and apply spf. Then dressing when the bikini is dry not ideal.

This is a common issue with many spf’s but I think I’d give my 5* to one that is waterproof enough to withstand a little dampness from my bikini edges. I don’t know if it exists.

The best way for me I guess is to stay out of the sun 100%, or lay in some sort of full body UV suit.

I cannot use this on my face, it makes my eyes water, many spfs do this so this isn’t unusual. I have a dedicated face spf50.

Onto the not moany bit at all other times this spf is perfect for my body – I love that it’s moisturising, affordable and it does keep my very white sensitive skin safe in the sun. I take Carbamazepine for migraines and it makes me extra sensitive, I’ve burnt in the uk cloud so holidays to hot climates can cause some anxiety. I just got back for Cape Verde, I was stuck on the back of a pick up in 30+ degree direct sun, and wind, in the desert, parts of my skin exposed, panicking a little, because it was too rough/bumpy to reapply and I felt like I was frying. I’d applied this 2 hours earlier and knew I needed to top up it was some time before I topped up but at the end of the day I was still unburnt. This really is an amazing sunscreen. I spent 10 days closer to the equator than I’ve been in a long time and I’m still very white. Not a win for a lot of people, but for me I’m happy. I’ve had some serious burns in the past and know my skin cancer risk is higher, I’ve grown to love my skin.

On a side note the Altruist moisturiser is great! It’s the best skincare product I’ve found this year!
