Locking Latch with Auto Release
Each AmazonBasics aviation tin snip locks safely shut thanks to its integrated locking latch. This helps protect the blade’s sharp cutting edge when in storage.
When it’s time to get to work, the tool’s auto-release mechanism makes it easy to quickly undo the lock with one hand.

I actually bought these to use for cutting plastic and for my requirements they work perfect – great price . easy to use … comfortable to handle . good addition to my DIY tool box
Might be me as not very technical when it comes to tools got these to help me cut up an old mattress as I thought they would cut through the springs but they didn’t even come close worked on the slightly thinner bits of metal so they will still come in useful
Aviation (Tin) Snips, set of 3. Very good value for money for LIGHT duty, will cut baked bean tin, aluminium tin, biscuit tin, electrical flex etc. NOT for use as bolt-cutter or on heavy gauge steel plate (cutting discs and reciprocating saws do well on these. Just about usable one-handed with my small size 7 hands. Good in garden for 18 gauge wire mesh fencing that ruins pliers and normal pruners.
Bought to cut PVC for lining a shower and does this very well. Not used on metal yet but no reason to think it won’t be equally good. Feels robust and well made. Bit big for small hands but manageable.
Works great and would definitely recommend, only difference between these and premium version I can see is the premium ones have longer blades, but I use these in work daily and are definitely value for money
These are a reasonable pair of cutters but they are not very ergonomic to use. The handles open to far on thicker materials and I find them difficult to use one handed. After a week of use they have become stiff and don’t spring open easily.
Great for removing old layers lino from a terracotta tiled floor.
Where the Stanley knife barely made a mark these snips cut away big chunks of old thick lino with ease.
As with most jobs in an old house the “lets take up the lino job” took longer than expected, but at least the bits ehere able to go in the bin.
