This Amazon Basics 4-piece Plier and Wrench Set works fine and I’ve been using the set for repair jobs. It’s not cheap metal that chips or dents easily. The grips could use some work as I’ve found my hands getting more tired using this set compared to other I have but still good and completely works for many jobs.
I needed a good set of pliers and decided to see what I could find on Amazon. My ‘hodgepodge’ collection of these tools definitely needed updating. After looking a bit, I came across this plier/wrench set by Amazon Basics and decided to give it a try.
Well, I must admit.I’m certainly impressed by the quality of this set of tools. They heavyweight and operate very smoothly. They’re comfortable to hold thanks to the very ergonomic grips on the tools. I’ve never had a pair of pliers that was so easy to hang onto. They are a bit on the heavy side, though, which is fine with me. It just tells me they’re solid.
The only complaint I have about this set is that out of the six pieces included, there is only one wrencha medium sized crescent wrench. It would be nice if there were at least one more size of wrench included. It’s kind of overkill on the pliers, but I do really like the channel lock pliersthey’re easy to adjust.
All in all, I’m very impressed with this wrench/plier set by Amazon Basics. They’re definitely quality tools I know that will last. I’ll certainly buy more.
Another great Amazon Basics product! This set of pliers and wrenches are actually better quality than I thought they would be. For the price, this is a great and sturdy set, and it includes a lot of basics that are great for an amateur toolbox. They are perfect for small jobs around the house, and they all work easily and smoothly. They are padded on the handles, which makes them comfortable to hold, I just hope that the padding lasts. Overall, these are a great addition to my tool collection and would make a great gift for anyone just starting theirs.
– Set of 6 pliers (diagonal wire cutters, long nose, linesman (pliers with cutter), plumbers, adjustable wrench, long nose, and a standard adjustable pliers.
– No literature is included in the box describing the tools, finish, size, etc.
– They came with a plastic cover over the exposed metal. This is good as the metal takes scratches pretty easy.
– Handle has a hard grippy plastic/rubber grip which makes them easy to hold. The finish is similar for each tool.
– None of the tools have a spring opening them back up. I kind of wish these did to make them more versatile.
– They seem to be good pliers for general use and would be a nice addition to any tool box.

I didn’t know what to expect with this Amazon Basics brand. Bottom line: They’re pretty good. I own Craftsman and Vise-Grips brand and these compare decently to those. I would say these Amazon Basics are a little bit lesser quality than those but not very much. The fit and finish is just a tad less.
They lock well, adjust fine and the jaws are without major flaws. These definitely perform adequately.
These came a tad oily from the factory but nothing major -they just needed a good wipe-down.
