Bought to replace a HDMI to Displayport adaptor that failed (don’t ask me how – it should not have happened) but this cable fixed the problem without issue. Note that I am using it with the Displayport connection on a computer (running Windows) and the HDMI connection on a 1080p TV.

It’s a good cable when I purchased it I thought it was not uni-directional. So don’t purchase if you want to use display port as an output and hdmi as an input.

    The Good:

Reliable Connection: Many customers have found this cable to provide a reliable and stable connection between their devices. It’s often used to connect computers or laptops with DisplayPort outputs to HDMI-equipped monitors, TVs, or projectors.

High-Quality Build: The gold-plated connectors are a nice touch. They not only provide a secure fit but also enhance the durability of the cable, making it resistant to corrosion and wear.

Plug and Play: Most users appreciate that this cable is “plug and play.” You simply connect it between your devices, and it typically works without the need for additional drivers or configurations.

Affordability: Amazon Basics products are known for their affordability, and this cable is no exception. It often provides good value for the price, especially when compared to cables from other brands.

Multiple Applications: Beyond computer setups, customers have used this cable for a variety of purposes, including connecting gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, and other devices to HDMI displays.

    The Bad:

No Audio Support (in some cases): Some users have reported that this cable didn’t transmit audio when connected from their computer’s DisplayPort to an HDMI display. This could be due to specific device configurations or settings.

Length Limitations: While 1.8 meters is suitable for many setups, it might be too short for more extensive or complex arrangements. Users with larger rooms or specific placement requirements might need longer cables.

Not for All Devices: DisplayPort and HDMI are common standards, but it’s essential to ensure that your devices support these connections. Some older or specialized devices might not be compatible.

In summary, the Amazon Basics DisplayPort to HDMI cable with gold-plated connectors (1.8 meters) is generally well-received for its reliability, build quality, and affordability. It’s a straightforward solution for connecting DisplayPort-enabled devices to HDMI displays. However, users should be aware of potential audio compatibility issues and consider the cable length that suits their needs.

I recently purchased a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and I am very impressed with how well it works. The adapter is easy to use and provides a reliable connection between my laptop’s DisplayPort output and my HDMI monitor. The picture quality is excellent, and I’ve experienced no lag or delay when using it. The adapter is also compact and portable, which makes it easy to bring with me when I’m on the go. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient way to connect their DisplayPort-enabled laptop to an HDMI monitor.

I bought a new PC that had DPort connectors rather than HDMI. My monitor had an HDMI port.
This cable connected to 2 ports perfectly with no image problems on the screen.

hey even carry audio, carries at least 1080p x 75hz signal from your gpu of choice to your monitor of choice, they flex alright and the connectors don’t slip ou

This is the perfect adapter. I thought my device was HDMI to HDMI but I was wrong. Thanks to Amazon Prime these saved the day 24 hours after I noticed the mistake. Amazing quality and great value for money.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is perfect for my use case. However, there are some things to look out for if you want to buy this product.

To start with, this cable cannot handle 4k 60hz as advertised. This may be because the cable connectors are DP 2.0 or HDMI 1.0. This isn’t a problem because I’m only outputting from a GTX 1660 super, which can only be 1080p 60fps reliably. But if you are looking for 4K, I recommend using another cable.

Another thing to mention is that the cable can only do DisplayPort to HDMI and not HDMI to display port as it is not an active cable. I don’t believe the product states it can work both ways, but it doesn’t say it can’t either. Again, lucky for me, I’m displaying from a display port to an HDMI port, so it’s all good.

The cable is a particularly good build and super sturdy so you can be tough on this thing, and it won’t break. I had to cable manage this behind a wardrobe and pull it through, which would’ve broken most cables, but this one worked perfectly afterwards.

Overall a good product, the listing could just be a bit more accurate!

It’s a very simple cable that connects your DP++ output to a HDMI input. Because it’s cheap, the DP connection doesn’t have a lock, but most people won’t care. Also note that this is a passive cable so make sure your port is DP++.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis cable is a passive type as my PC has a built in decoder that knows it has been plugged into hdmi port. Make sure it is compatable with your PC otherwise it won’t work. Look at the display port on your PC to see if there is a display port logo with a plus + sign. That means this cable will work. Hope this review helps!

Bought a Display Port to HDMI from my local computer shop. It was faulty and I returned it. Bought one from Amazon for half the price of the one from my local computer shop. It works very well no problems at all. Would recommend this product especially if you’re computer has a few Display Ports, you could buy a few for not much money.
