One thing you may want to consider is whether you have enough extra cable length for the extra height…
The stands are basic but look reasonably well made, functional rather than luxury but smart looks enough. They are sturdy enough and not flimsy in any way.
I have two of these under a pair of 24 inch monitors – not the most attractive objects but they look like the pictures and do exactly what they are designed for. Four different height settings.
Actually bought 2 of these for my 2 printers, on an Epson multi and the other a Samsung laser. Both printers ‘shoogle’ alot. Both stands have stood up to this abuse with no problems. Highly recommend.
In terms of build quality, the stand is sturdy and has decent looks. It is easy to assemble and has sufficient space underneath to put a few accessories like an external HDD/SSD. If you need to elevate your work laptop/monitor’s height by 7 or 10 cm, then this stand isn’t going to disappoint you. On the other hand, if you want a completely flexible setup, you can try getting a height-adjustable desk (around 150) that enables you to stand and work.
This is a very simple product. It is all plastic. It comes with inserts, so you have the original approx. two-inch rise or, by adding the inserts, you can get to about four inches.
I was hoping to be able to slide my laptop underneath. It does fit in its own. It doesn’t fit with all the peripherals plugged in. However, I have since discovered having my laptop upright against the shelf works for me because I can unplug and take my laptop.
Just be aware the sides are solid, so you can’t snake cables through the sides. I have a small IKEA Micke desk. This product works well for me. It might be too small for others.
It’s just plastic with a little logo. As you can see from my setup, it fits. I am a writer. I need to have my screen at eye level and sit at 90 to my keyboard so as not to blow out my wrists.
I like it. My monitor is a Samsung 24″ that fits perfectly.
I’ve only been using this stand for the last three days but I feel confident in leaving a review because it’s very sturdy, has three (very simple, manual) height adjustments, it does everything I want it to do an will last a long time because it has no fiddly, weak components.
If you’re not bothered by fancy design and just want to height stand that can take a hammering. I think this is it.
However I think calling it adjustable is a leap – the stand has 2 possible heights which is fine for my purposes but if you’re looking for something genuinely height adjustable there may be a more dynamic product out there.
Good value, good height, sturdy but lightweight so easily carried to another room. A rim along one length would make my laptop more secure. Great with the old PC. Considering buying a second one.
I just wanted a basic stand for my monitor that met my dimension requirements, and this fit the bill. I was expecting it to look really cheap, and it doesn’t look expensive, but it does at least look a bit smarter in real life than in the product photos. It grips well to my desk and I’m really happy with my purchase. I would recommend it.
Working from home and wanted a stand for my monitor. Good price at around 11. Would have liked the ability to extend the monitor slightly higher, but have used 8 place mats to do this. All in all, I would recommend the stand
Dead easy to get up and running, you have an extra couple of risers in separate boxes in the package which are easy ro install, however, from an ergonomical point of view the stand is only a couple of inches high, so, if your computer monitor is height adjustable that that should work wonders, if not, then your monitor/laptop may not be exactly in line with your eyesight, an encyclopeadia might be required for the extra centimetres. Apart from that it is quite sturdy, doesn’t move without manually lifting it, and the plastic risers shouldn’t scratch your table if it gets knocked, it’s just a nice stand for about 12, better than some others viewed on the market, with less favourable views.
It’s good. It does its job well. Thankfully I don’t need to lower my head so much anymore. Two minor concerns, though. One: it was slightly sticky during the assembly but afterwards it was okay. Secondly, I wish it could be higher. But it’s okay, it works in general so worth the money.
This is a really excellent product, it comes with feet which can be fitted in to ways to allow different height options. I am vey happy with my purchase, the only comment I have it that it was a little bit narrow as I wanted to store my laptop under it and this was not possible. Other than that I would highly recommend it!
Maybe it’s just me! But do you wear varifocals? I have had trouble reading stuff on my computer monitor. Sit too close, too high, too low. I never seem to be in the right position.
Unpacking the stand it became obvious how to assemble it. Once the monitor was placed on top, job done. Everything on the screen was now clear and saves me pain in the neck as I didn’t have to keep shifting my head to try and get a good view of the screen.
Highly recommended from Amazon Basics range. Black plastic it may be, but it looks good on my computer table. Reasonable price as well.
My monitor doesn’t have one of those fancy height-adjustable stands, and so I’d been using a stack of big books for a couple of months when using a new desk, so that my eyes were level with the center of the screen. It’s a small desk however, so the books took up quite a bit of space and were fairly unusable as a surface to put things on.
I found this and ordered it pretty much immediately after reading the reviews saying it was sturdy and such (all that really mattered to me) and it seemed to be as tall if not taller than my 3 large books. My mate wondered why I didn’t just get a monitor stand (that attaches to the monitor if it has the right mounting holes) and I thought I’d made a mistake but now that it’s arrived I’m glad I bought it instead!
The great thing is, you get a taller monitor, and can still use the space underneath for something. I have an audio interface I use to control my headphone’s and speaker’s volumes independently, and on this small desk I’ve been moving it about a lot looking for a good place for it. Turns out the best place was under the monitor!
Would highly recommend if you think it’s right for you. You could easily put books, CDs, headphones, etc under your monitor with this, but the height adjustment won’t be as much as a proper, attacheable monitor stand. But hey, you could use both..
I got this shelf after I got my echo show eight
Because it’s in the kitchen on the worksurface I thought if I spell any liquids it’s going to damage my stuff
So now all my stuff is higher
And if I spell anything it’s going to get wet
The shelf is easy to assemble you just get it out of the box
And there’s a bit of a gap but you can extend the legs
Which I have done all your wires go down the back of it out of the way
And even if you go on holiday you could take the shelf with you
Anyhoo… It’s so useful for jobs like that, I’m here to buy another one.
5 STARS!
Assembly is simply, at lowest height, you just use the stand without any risers. For medium and tall mode, you add the risers one way around or the other (a photo shows a riser on each leg of different heights).
A neat touch is that you can slot the riser under your stand if not in use to keep it out of the way. Unfortunately, you lose under stand storage space as a consequence.
Talking of the space under the stand, at lowest height, you get 5.5cm height with a width of around 31-31.5cm
I found that the lowest setting of about 7.5cm was enough for me and personally I didn’t want it higher.
The front have “Amazon Basics” written on it, so I installed them backwards to give a better look…
One thing you may want to consider is whether you have enough extra cable length for the extra height… I didn’t and had to re-route my cables for the extra length.
The stands are basic but seem reasonably well made, functional rather than luxury but smart looks enough. They are rated at 10kg, so bear that in mind, though they seem sturdy enough and not flimbsy in any way.
I’ve taken pictures before and after to show the difference and the overall look.
In summary, I’m very happy with these and can already feel the improvement in the position and posture at the desk.
(Note in pictures, I bought two of these)
Update Early June 2020: these are working just fine. I haveoved to using a different desk and have adjusted the stands to use their highest possible setting in order to maintain monitors at eye level.
These stands look as good as new and no complaints about them at all.
Update 23 June 2020: Impressed enough to buy a 3rd one of these in order to have all my monitors on matching stands.
Modern footrests all tilt. This is all very well, but there are a lot of reasons why you don’t need a footrest to tilt. If you could choose ’tilt’ or ‘fixed’ with the footrests, that would be fine – but you can’t. It’s tilt or nothing.
If you want to be constantly shifting around in your office seat then that’s a Good Thing, but actually if you need the exercise (and you do) you’re far better getting up and moving around properly every so often. The alternative, in the way of an ever-shifting footrest, is not actually very comfortable.
If you want a footrest because your desk is too high and you need to raise your chair height, thereby making it difficult for your legs to sit comfortably on the floor, you have a problem. This problem used to be solved by the use of telephone books or VAT regulations books (about the only purpose they ever served), but neither of these useful volumes exist any more so that’s no good. So what do you do?
Well you can get a footrest (actually lots of different footrests), but they all tilt. So you can’t get into the necessary position (legs forming a right angle with your body, feet flat on the floor, back straight, arms forming a right angle with your body – you know the drill) for more than a couple of seconds. Keep on rockin’…
However with this excellent piece of kit, you can get just what you need (the twenty-first century equivalent of a couple of telephone books, or a VAT regulations book, or suchlike), and make it just the right height to suit you.
This ‘monitor stand’ is plenty sturdy enough and is so basic that it will outlast you and/or your office life – and it’s cheap.
Just the job!
There’s not really much to say about this product which isn’t easily evident. It’s made of a solid plastic and is capable of easily supporting monitors of various base-sizes with room for other nick-knacks they may have lying around.
I found the clearance underneath the monitor stand to only be viable when it’s set on the highest level. It’s more than capable of storing charging devices, books and the like beneath it.for easy access
I’ve had this product for 2 years now and have had no issue with it whatsoever. It does what it’s supposed to do without much innovation or flair, and that’s to be expected of it. Assembly was an absolute doddle that even my 2 year old nephew is capable of doing.
They weren’t cheap I thought when I saw these, so a bit of a gamble buying 2 of them for my computer monitors? In hindsight I am delighted I made the choice. These are really easy to assemble (and in fact you assemble the legs ‘upside down’ [genius!] to give a bit more flexibility with height that is shown in the pictures). They are very tough and sturdy because the feet extent extend the entire length of each side of the unit – just as well to cater for the weight of large monitors – though not much to look at. I can imagine these lasting a long time. Very much recommended and I can already think of the need to buy some more of these around the house…
The monitors I have rarely ever have enough height to allow me to sit comfortably in my chair. As a result, I end up having to stretch my back every 10 minutes because I’m slouching most of the time. Getting a mount wasn’t really an option as my desk setup wouldn’t permit it. So I came across this product.
It’s built well, the rubber (or silicone) feet on the bottom hold the stand in place quite well. The added height you get with this stand makes it so worth it and it’s priced competitively compared to some other variants I’ve seen on here. 40 for what is essentially three planks of wood held together by glue? Try taking that to the Dragon’s Den.
Great product from AmazonBasics! Would definitely recommend.
