I brought the kit a few months ago and my review of the product is a good one it has the bare essentials and it is a good start to building a good toolbox
Like the fact it can all be kept in a case. Cannot cofirm on durability as yet to use. Was fed up of buy random bits and then loosing them. This is ideal as well as my tool box. Case seems sturdy and a good mix of tools. Overall great value for the money and ideal for mi ir DIY
What a great little set! Everything you need from a set of home diy tools, all tools seem quite durable and good strength, you get pliers, 3.5m tape measure, hammer, screwed driver and accessories, small spirit level a strong and durable carry case and more! Great price for a quality bit of kit! 5* from me!
Much better quality than expected. Husband likes it. Worth the price.
Fab tool kit and good that everything has it’s own storage space.
The clips to close the case are a bit annoying as they fall off when open. They are easy to click back in, but it would have been 5 stars except for this. The tools are very good quality
Comprehensive set of tools in an organised box that is easy to store away.
Bought this for hubby , really good value for money , long n short nose pliers , electrical screwdriver (which works properly). Good quality
I bought this kit for my granddaughter as a starter kit for her home maintenance, she loves it.
Got fed up of hunting around for a tool to do quick jobs, couldn’t be doing with trudging out to the shed, hunting around for the toolbox, trudging back in etc, etc. So decided to get this and keep it in the kitchen cupboard.
Decent mix of tools and of a quality that should suffice for most home DIY tasks – if you’re looking at more extensive work then maybe go more up-market, but for tightening loose scews/bolts on furniture, hanging up frames and whatnot it’s absolutely fine.
Perfect little tool kit for basic DIY. I just moved into my new home and with all the lockdowns & tiers I was worried about having people come in to help with things like putting up curtains, assembling furniture etc. I’ve used most tools already in the kit and can’t fault it. Great value for money, everything you need for all those little jobs around the house.
Bought as when I moved into my new home I couldn’t find any tools. Sturdy plastic case and everything there that I need for quick DIY tasks. Anything that rewrites anything more will not be attempted by me and a professional called in so this is ideal
Bought this for my son who has just moved into his first house. This set covers all the basic DIY needs and more, is good quality and has neat case. Highly recommended.
Great for anyone who needs a set of tools for “just in case”, or anyone wanting spares. It doesn’t contain anything a harden DIYer wouldn’t already have, but it’s great to have them all available in a single tidy case, making everything easy to find.
This kit is without any question a great value for money!
For the price, the amount of tools you get is really good and they have a very decent quality!
I’ve been using this kit to put some paints on my houses walls, used it to build some furniture and add zero problems.
The plastic case is perfect to carry around, and keep things organized for when I need them.
For an occasionally DIY person like I am, this kit will last forever…
Useful and solid tools but the absence of knife and saw tools limits its one stop domestic capability.
A great value tool set, just the job for the kind of person, like me, who isn’t really into DIY, but has to do a few jobs around the house every now and then.
The item was packaged well and the tools are housed in a rigid plastic carry case, displaying the legend AMAZON BASICS. You get a good array of tools in here; hammer, adjustable spanner, ratchet set and a few screwdrivers, pliers, plus the bits for the ratchet. You also get a knife and a set of allen keys. Very useful.
At the moment the few tools I do have are just chucked in a canvas bag and are difficult to find. This set will be really useful and the carry case will ensure I put them back in the right place again.
Impressive for the cost considering how much even basic tool sets are at places like B&Q and Homebase.
In terms of value this is a great bit of kit; you get pretty much everything you need for basic DIY (hammer, adjustable spanner, blade, tape measure, Allen/hex keys, wire cutter, two sets of pliers etc), however the quality of the kit is about as basic as you can be usable. These aren’t precision machined pieces; the adjustable spanner is a bit clanky with lose parts, the pliers only just open and close smoothly and the tape measure is cracker quality. If you enjoy regular DIY and like a nice tool you definitely need to look elsewhere, however if you just need some emergency kit around the house to use a couple of times a year this is absolutely fine.
51 piece tool set from amazon basics, my dad wasting no time using this i litterally only had time to take pictures before he started using them
He seems really happy with it so can’t complain
Some of the things like the hammer seems quite light weight i would of liked that to have abit of weight on it, everything in the box is pretty handy to have around in the house tool box pretty much contains everything you would need
Decent price, love the box it comes in keeps everything in place and easy access
This is a nice tool set, although like all of these type of sets, the quantity of tools can be a little misleading as each individual component counts as a piece i.e. each screwdriver bit, Allen key etc. I have to say though that all of these sets are the same, so no stars deducted for that.
The set comes in a polycarbonate case with handle and securing clips, which is ergonomically laid out and holds the individual tools snuggly in a pre-formed mounts. It is not that rugged and heavy handling could result in the retaining clips breaking and the less than sturdy case cracking/breaking if used for all but the lightest of tasks – remember what the purpose of the set is though.
The maintools are:
+. A craft knife – sound quality with retractable and disposable snap off blade
+. Two sets of pliers, one standard with wire cutter and a similar set of long nosed pliers
+. A set of cutters for mild alloy or wire
+. 3 metre retractable tape measure
+. Nine Allen keys ranging from 10mm to 1.5mm
+. An adjustable open jaw wrench – not the best I have used, but at the price point and for the purpose, fine
+. A small claw hammer – ideal for small jobs in the home, nicely balanced with a synthetic non-slip grip
+. An extendable screwdriver handle with 32 bits ranging from flat screwed, via cross head to hex bolts
+. A small plastic spirit level
All in all, this is a very nice set to keep around the home. The case really sums up the purpose of this set, no it would not be suitable for a DIYer, but then again it isn’t really meant to be. This kit is ideal for the person, like me, who doesn’t necessarily want to go out to the shed when he needs to put a picture up, remove a screw, tighten a bolt. In a similar manner, this is the ideal type of kit for those not interested in DIY, but at some time they will need one of these tools and in that regard, just like the adjustable spanner, satisfied is probably ideal for their level of competence.
In summary, this item is exactly what it says it is, “a household tool set”. which for us will be kept in the cupboard with our spare bulbs and batteries for use occasionally for small jobs in the home – every home should have one or similar. Compact and easy to store.
A great item so why only 4 stars? Well 4 stars is pretty good, however, looking at the type of tools, their uses and the cost, I believe that I could purchase a better set, with a greater range of tools at a cheaper price. I actually like Amazon basics products and this is exactly what it is, surprisingly though, at 37.09 as at 5th January 2020, I think that it is a bit over priced and whilst I heartily recommend it or similar for every home, you can buy more for less if you look.
This is an ideal tool kit for every household regardless of how much or little DIY you do. It includes your basics like a hammer, knife and pliers, but also several hex/allen keys which are incredibly useful and never around when you need them!
The tools themselves are decent quality, although the plastic handles feel a little cheap. The case the tools come in is neat but as other reviewers have noted the clips are of plastic not metal and I don’t think they are going to last indefinitely. Still, for a reasonably priced “starter” tool kit this does the job.
This review is for the Amazon basic 32 piece household tool set. The product arrived well packaged and on time.
The set has 32 tools and comes in a carry case. The carry is good sturdy quality but the clips to open/close it are not designed very well, they keep clipping off. However it is very easy to clip back into place.
The variety of tools are good and would be perfectly fine for those small diy task around the house. It would also cater for needs for putting batteries in toys and general tasks.
All the items in the set and pretty well made and have the amazon basic brand. They are not professional tools to be used daily but are good.
The box is also compact so nice and easy to store away.
Would recommend and I defo will using around the house.
This is a fantastic all round set of tools and a must for any household. All tools are presented in a nice black plastic moulded case and are all held firmly in place inside. The plastic handles on the pliers and grips feels a little on the cheap side but remember that you are not purchasing a premium tool set here. It is an excellent Amazon basics set. For the price you simple won’t find better. The socket set feels much better quality. Not just the ratchet handles, but the sockets themselves seem well forged enough not to split with any extra force. Brilliant!
This is a decent set for any house.
Has something to cater for most scenarios.
The case is well made and the tools seem robust.
Time will tell but so far so good
This only arrived this morning so I haven’t used it in earnest yet, but my first impressions are that its really good value for money. The set is contained within a strong black plastic case and the tools are firmly held individually in their respective slots. I particularly like the socket set which has a nice rubber handled ratchet and the smaller socket set which has the same range of multi sized sockets.
The set also contains handy pliars, a sliding wrench, wire cutters, screwdrivers and a star/allan key set. 68 individual pieces in all including all the heads.
I’ll probably keep this in my camper van as an emergency tool kit as I have a well stocked tool box at home nut I may buy another one to give one of my sons who is short of tools. Its undoubtably Chinese made so not top quality but it should serve a purpose for more than a few years.
Great quality, well-presented, easy to store and maintain, as comes in a good sturdy case, the only criticism us the buckles, as they should be metal, not plastic, and I can’t see them last for too long. Drop the case a couple of times and they will come off, hence 4 . The tools themselves are brilliant quality and you literally get everything you’d need for a basic job around the . I have a satisfied hubby, as he likes his tools…. wish he’d keep his shed organised , as it’s bursting with stuff he needs…yeah right. Lol.
The set is great, minus the buckles on the case.
