Excellent quality although described as amazon basic. Was a little hesitant as read reviews that port connection failed or not a good fit but Fits perfectly to port.
Excellent quality connection with no issues.
Very pleased with packaging and superfast delivery from friendly deliverer 10/10 .
    Thanks Amazo

I don’t know if it’s the cable or something else but when connected to a surface dock 1 and a 1440p display the resolution was limited to 1080p and color depth was also low.

It’s a bit pricey but very convenient as it’s a single cable. Other options in stores closed by were adapters and way more expensive. I’m currently using it for the connection between my MacBook Air and my Dell monitor and it’s working perfectly.

Excellent product – worked immediately – ideal for connecting my laptop Mini Display Port on my coffee table to my plasma TV. Good quality, perfect picture and sound – and plenty long enough. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersKeen to stop squinting at my 15-inch MacBook screen and increase the amount of desktop space available, I ordered this Amazon Basics Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable to hook it up to one of two Dell UltraSharp 24-inch monitors I use for my PC. Getting extra cables for Macs can often be challenge with so many options to choose from. A quick compatibility check on Apple’s website for the specifications of a MacBook Pro (mid-2012) along with Amazon’s detailed description confirmed this was the cable I needed. Well-made and short enough not to contribute to the bundle of cables disappearing behind my desk, it was a quick job to connect the two. The MacBook helpfully offered to automatically reconfigure its display settings for the Dell, switching from its native resolution to the Dell’s 1920×1200, and everything was good to go. Adding in a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard that I already use for my PC, I now have a 24-inch Mac at a fraction of the price of one of the new 24-inch iMacs—although perhaps not quite as fast.

While I can’t speak about the durability since I’ve only used it for a few hours so far, I can say that the picture quality is excellent and it seems pretty sturdy. My only comment for potential buyers is that 3 feet is a lot shorter than you think, if your PC is under your desk the cable won’t reach!

Loved the quality and the pricing of this product.

The brand calls itself BASICS, but I found it to be 10 times better than competitive brands charging higher prices.

The cable works perfectly with my MacBook Air 2017 model with minidisplayport type thunderbolt port.

Wanted to mirror streaming from internet to MacBook on to a large screen TV without AirPlay capability or 3rd party application. A simple solution was required to enable me to instruct a non-technical person to easily achieve this and a cable between the two devices, just requiring plugging in at each end was an easy and inexpensive option. The video was mirrored as soon as the lead was connected at both ends, although if audio is required through the TV as well then this has to be redirected in the MacBook system preferences.
One advantage of using a cable such as this is that there is no time lag between MacBook and TV or loss of synchronisation between video and audio which can be experienced on applications relying on WiFi.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLow cost option that enables a Mac laptop to be viewed via HDMI, so just the job for the Zoom type broadcasts during Lockdowns. Doesn’t quite get the aspect ratio of the laptop right (Macbook Air with a Panasonic TV; should do it automatically and you can’t override on laptop or TV). However still easier than viewing on a small screen.

I bought this mini-DP to HDMI to replace a mini-DP to DP connection. Unfortunately I found that it would not display beyond 1920×1080, so was less sharp on my 2560×1440 capable monitor. If you want to get the highest resolutions you may want to purchase another cable.

Wish I had known about this type of cable earlier. Takes the output from my laptop and gives me an HDMI hookup to my TV that is perfect and easy. Now with the long cable I can leave it connected, and by using a 2 input to 1 output box I can switch between my laptop and my DVD player. Great if you have limited HDMI inputs on the TV.

Works well, does the job, but amazon have only been stocking excessively long cables for a while – probably due to current circumstances but these remained in stock so I had to purchase 3m length when I need 0.9m.

Other wise great item, does the job!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe item fits but I still can see picture from my surface pro to my standalone monitor very sad as I’m working from home in this Covid 19 and there no help anywhere with everything shut. So I’ll just have to struggle to work on small monitor of the pro.

Our office have had to start working from home and this cable is a must have if you have a Surface Pro laptop. Easy to use, a good length, and working well. The price also didn’t jump like it did for the Rankie version (which doubled in price over a matter of days…) The quality is good but it just took a little longer than normal for Prime delivery (as you might expect).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersUsed to connect a surface pro to a new monitor I had recently purchased, has 2 HDMI ports and a DP port, before I used another adapter that allowed a VGA connection but this monitor didn’t have that. Easily connects from my bigger power adapter or directly to the surface pro with no issues. Therefore, 5 stars as it does the job expected, received in good time, decent packaging and fit for purpose.

The cable is very good, but the Mac gets confused when it’s in use sometimes a restart is needed to solve the issue. I’m not sure if it’s a Mac issue or the cable, but tend towards the Mac. On the whole it’s worth the money to get a good sized picture and decent audio.

I plugged this into my computer after a moment there was a smell of burning plastic . I felt the plug at the computer end ,it was not hot .
I felt the plug at the TV end which was very hot . Was it a fault in the cable , was it a fault in the computer ?
I have no idea . one star or five no idea either .

Golden Review Award: 58 From Our UsersI learnt something new after buying this, maybe it will help someone. Apparently there are two different types of MINI DP to HDMI – Active & Passive. This cable is passive. It turns out that I needed Active. I was trying to connect a Surface Pro tablet to an ultrawide monitor but using this passive cable I could only get native HD resolutions and not the differently-proportioned ultrawide resolutions. If you have similar issues, where you can only get a 16:9 or similar picture try swapping your cable for one with an active transcoder build in. I ended up getting the Microsoft branded active MINI DP to HDMI adaptor which solved the problem, but that doesn’t stop me recommending this as it works great on my standard 16:9 monitor and the price was great. Just be aware that it’s passive and not active, and that that is even a ‘thing’, as it was a fun fact of the day for me to learn so hopefully it helps someone else.

The cable works great, picture quality is really good and the cable feels well made. One small issue for me is the rubber section around the display port jack is too thick so when I connect it to my SurfaceBook it causes the laptop to tilt and so any minor movement sometimes messes up the connection.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI was struggling for an imaginative headline for the review. I thought “wow” was appropriate. Is is rather unfortunate that not an awful lot can be said regarding the humble HDMI cable other than it does what is expected.

I did think long and hard about how I star rate this. In the end I thought it deserved a 5 star (as all my other reviews get).

If you also decide to buy one based upon my informative review then you are also gonna be as impressed as I am.

A neat cable that removes the need for chunky adaptors.
Used with a Microsoft Surface Pro. It works perfectly, although the mini plug is a little loose in the PC socket and pulls out easily. (This may be an issue with the PC).
