I love my tool bag – great size for the internal space and adore the pockets, good for the little things, eg tape measure, mini spirit level.
It’s got a great feel to it too, like how it opens up, just cool.
This is the second one of these I have bought as the first one was meeting my needs so well. It was getting full though and heavy to lift. I looked at other bags to supplement it with but was struggling to find anything as suitable for a comparable price.
The bag is more of a large technicians bag rather than rugged every day building site bag. I am an electrician and use it for most of my everyday tools and testing equipment although the meter has it’s own bag. When opened up the tools are visible and easy to find. The pocket sizes and shapes work really well for me; the only things I can’t find a suitable pocket for are the plasterboard saw, 300mm extensions and the like. Now the second bag accommodates the overflow, main drilling and cutting equipment.
I’ve been using my first bag for about a year and it is showing no noticeable wear and tear despite the weight I have been carrying in it but I am careful with it.
Bought this to house the accessories for an air blower (which was bigger than the bag). All the accessories have fitted well inside the bag, and the zip fastener and carry handles seem substantial.
It would be ideal for a few tools for any handyman, and I suspect would last for some time. Can recommend this bag.
I got this while it was on offer, but even then, for the average price point you get a very well packaged (almost too well packaged – it is like they thought it might shatter), very well made, tool-bag. I am actually using a few for equipment storage bags, so can keep all the attachments and cables together, while protecting the main equipment all in one place. Fab!
This is perfect for keeping some of those home repair / diy tools organised and ready available.
A spot on size . Made with a heavyweight fabric . The easy open mouth of the bag always you to se everything easily . Plus the small pockets either side internally makes for good organisation.
The mesh pockets on the outside are also spot on for my measuring tools which are used the most often . The other pockets are great too just slightly smaller than the mesh ones .
The zip fastening is good quality with the added feature of a hook and loop ( Velcro ) handle fastener .
All in all a very well made thought out amazon basics product at a bargain price so great value for money in my opinio
Really surprised and pleased with this tool bag. Wasn’t expecting much for such a low price but it’s great. Ideal for the few but you need easy access too in and around the house! Strong material and takes a bit of weight! Would definitely recommend!
I couldn’t have picked a better sized bag for my requirements. It holds five boxes of cartridges (125) my ear defenders and protective glasses.
The bag itself is very sturdy with strong piped edges and a solid bottom. The material is rugged and with stand spanners, hammers and other tools being thrown into it as well as being dragged along floors in workspaces.
It has 6 outer pockets of which one is covered by a Velcro flap. It also has 8 inner pockets although I’m not sure how much use these would be once tools or other items are placed into the main compartment.
I’ll probably buy another one for my other activities.
I bought this not as a tool bag but to transport shotgun cartridges, ear defenders and shooting glasses to the clay shooting ground. It takes six boxes of 25 cartridges still with room on top for ear defenders and other ancillaries. Chances are you like me will only need it for four boxes or 100 cartridges in which case there is additional space. Great little bag for this purpose and after all . Why would you want to spend several times more for a beretta or browning branded bag when this bag does just as well?
The small size was just what I wanted but do double check it suits your needs.
The shell is nicely made of some very tough material (cordura?) which feels made to last.
The front pouches and pocket are made of the same tough material and deep enough to safely hold a few tools for quick-use.
The rear, netting pouches do not feel particularly strong but they obviously have some uses.
The loops on the front can be used for long screwdrivers etc but are not very convenient and there really needs to be middle loops to hold them straight.
The top opens wide to one large storage space with no sub-divisions so you can chuck in whatever you want. The interior is lined with lightweight nylon which gives me no confidence in its longevity. I wish they hadn’t bothered.
That main storage space has pouches on the sides – and that is where it goes wrong to my mind. The pouches are made of the same flimsy nylon as the lining and they cannot hold anything but small, light items. You can’t use them to organise the interior and, for example, keep the most used tools ready for quick access, those pouches are simply not up to the job.
All that is needed is a deep elastic strap sewn at intervals along the sides, strong enough to hold pliers, bradawl, screwdriver etc. The stitching would show on the outside of the bag, but so what? I would far rather have a better bag with visible stitching.
This is a nice sturdy little bag.
I actually bought it for my Raspberry Pi/400 set-up and for that it works very well. I mostly chose it for budget durability (all the cheap messenger bags had quality issues), and because it was the right size.
It certainly seems sturdy and durable, and it stands up on its own and opens up nicely, which are actually both very practical benefits for my usage.
Closing it requires at least 2 hands, and could probably be improved, but I’m happy enough.
The pockets are pretty loose with no elasticated tops. Not a problem on the inside, although it would have been nice. On the outside though I’d only use the single flapped velcro pocket. Same for the external fabric rings which also have no elastication. If you were using it for a tool bag, your screw drivers might stay in place around the house (and your tape measure in a mesh pocket), but I’d expect to find some of them rattling around in the boot if you chuck it in your car. A bit of elastication would have helped, and made them more useful for small accessories, or tools.
EDIT: I bought 4 more for actual tools, and in turns out the fabric loops work great for screw drivers. The internal pockets are useful for heat wrap and gluesticks, solder, etc. but too shallow and lose to retain tools. The outer webbing ones are fine for bulkier items that fit snugly or soft items like a small ball of string, gloves, or mask. Just don’t expect them to stay in place if it’s thrown around.
I bought this to finally upgrade from the cheap backpack I was using to carry my tools in.
When it arrived it was bigger than I expected, but actually, that was a plus.
The ‘side’ pockets both offer plenty of varied depth and width pockets – no more losing smaller screwdrivers at the bottom of deep pockets!
The ‘end’ pockets are just the right side to keep a couple of smaller items in – a small notebook or a packet of screws perhaps.
The main compartment is rather large and has a solid base. The bag’s opening is fairly wide, giving you a clear view into the bag to find anything you’re looking for.
I’ve found some of my colleague’s bags, of a similar style, have a much narrower opening which can be somewhat of a pain.
(It’s actually deep enough to fit a laptop/tablet in too, if you’re considering doing so.)
The carry handles are padded and are comfortable to hold.
The strap has an adjustable ‘shoulder pad’ to stop the strap cutting into you – and it does a good job.
(The strap is both adjustable AND completely removeable.)
I initially marked this down to 4*s on “Value For Money” but, when you look around for similar bags, it’s actually very well priced for the size and quality of bag.
“AmazonBasics” has done it again.
I’m very happy with my purchase.
Purchased one of these, as was seeking a bag/holdall which would stay open, when unzipped. When the bag is, zipped closed the upper part closes together, causing the upper part to be like an upside down ‘V’ shape, it’s still suitable from my requirements. It reminds me of the old brief cases/doctors bags.
It doesn’t hold a huge amount, when one takes its total size into consideration, but it still fulfils needs. The two handles are quite short, and can join together with the velcro hand grip. It also comes with a shoulder strap. The strap, rather than going from end to end of the bag, it attached to one side at the end, and the other side of the bag, at the other end. This for me, means that when the bag is open, the bag can be lifted with the should strap, and it doesn’t cause the bag to close when lifted. The bag also has open pockets around the inside edge. Nothing over brilliant, but the pockets are not designed for big items. I carry a lot of tools in mine, and although the bag is relatively small, it can still a reasonable amount. I can even fit a grinder into one bag and all it’s accessories. Ok, I do have to unscrew the handle and remove it, so the bag will close. I’m more than happy with it, and so far I’ve purchased eight of them.
