Setup two of these monitors for a design department. Superb quality and packaging. They have all the bells and whistles. Staff are very pleased with them. Prompt delivery from a great supplier – thankyou.
You must still register on the Asus website to access the calibration software.
Not very practical when you want to switch from Rec 709 to HDR
There is no remote control and the switch buttons are on the back of the monitor.
The manual does not come with the monitor but can be downloaded from the Asus website
but they could add a remote control or the ability to control it from a stream deck
After some research I decided to replace my old monitor and decided on this model, I did consider the later version but this one suits my needs and was less expensive. The screen is evenly illuminated (unlike my old monitor) and glare-free and having a USB hub declutters my desktop and allows better USB powered speakers to be installed. Initially had a problem with the display that I though was the graphics card but a change of driver sorted the problem. Having the ability to simply change settings via an app is great and much simpler and convienent that diving into the computer settings.
I use this for photo editing and it replaces a standard Dell HD monitor. The difference is huge and I am amazed at the detail in many of my photos ( a 26Mp sensor). Looking forward to seeing 40Mp sensor images. Good controls and brightness, just let down by tinny speakers.
I have owned the 27″ 4k version for about a year now and it has been good, both have all the features and inputs I need, plus USB hub. I use this 24″ model in vertical orientation for documents and e-mail, while the 4K is used traditionally landscape for ‘competent amateur’ photographic editing, watching videos and spreadsheet work.
As a designer, this is the best monitor I ever had. I was not willing to spend thousands of pounds so I will say this is an amazing monitor. You cannot do grading work with it but everything else feels very high-end. Highly recommend.
This is an excellent monitor for colour accuracy and affordability. I use mine for editing photos.
Although this monitor is already calibrated I found the Brightness at 50 way too bright for my eyes. Is Good for Gamers but I’m a photographer. So I decided to do my own calibration with a Brightness of 23 with my Spyder 4 Elite. All is Perfect so far. Highly recommended by me. Go n Buy one.
Don’t know much about the technical aspects but it is pin sharp for gaming and working from home. I like the fact you can rotate to portrait view for reviewing documents. Solid construction, very pleased so fa
Absolutely love this monitor. Anyone who works with images this is a must by! Use it for colour grading as a content monitor and its perfect. Asus really smashed it out of the park with this pretty affordable and accurate monitor. 10/10
Wow what brilliant product, could not believe the wonderful vision , did my own own cal with spyder , it matched the factory’s cal, Have heard the moaning and groaning about the sound , we’ll get a grip it’s for shear audibility and more than adequate , just get some desktop LS or cans if you want a moan , Would buy again as great for text, photography, and video as way way better than 16:9 , Yuk
Bought this to use with a new Mac Mini, as the price of the Apple screen was hard to justify. Picture quality is clear and vibrant, settings flexible, and size is ideal for my study desk. Just had to buy a separate camera with mic for Zoom/Facetime etc.
Very pleased with this monitor so far, excellent quality, far better then the LG equivalent in the range. The amount of connections was the decision factor for me, but it has excellent screen, anti glare, USB-C charging pass through, 98% sRGB, factory calibrated screen with certificate, very well built and sturdy, rotating screen which is a game changer when editing. The speakers are ok, I have it hooked up to my Huawei Mate book X Pro so I use its speakers as they’re mustard, the menu system is ok, plenty of options for screen output etc. The only thing I’d change, is I wish the screen was a tiny bit brighter, but it is fully adjustable. All in all, very pleased with this monitor, ASUS have a great reputation for a reason, and I’m happy to pay for the quality.
I bought this monitor as an amazon warehouse deal supposedly due to a cosmetic scratch (which I can’t find) so I suspect it may have originally been returned as although the colour calibration was good it wasn’t quite right, but this was quickly correctly with spyder. The colour certainly wasn’t bad though and 99% of people would barely see a difference between the before and after.
The display itself it very adaptable with the stand allowing landscape and portrait viewing in addition to height and tilt adjustment.
The resolution is good but noticeably not quite as good as my iMac but then that is a 5k screen so understandable!
It was plug and play with my iMac which made life so much easier.
I did get a bargain as a warehouse deal but feel happily worth the full price as well, and I say that as a pro photographer who needs correct colour and a good display.
This monitor is so good i felt like i got a new computer! As great and clear quality as my professional Dell monitor that i have for work, of same size andess than half the cost! I like the frame and the bevel. It is so well built and stylish. Highly recommend for work or gaming.
The colours on it are much nicer that my previous display. It was very easy to set up and it works really well with my MacBook.
I have my keyboard and mouse adapters, as well as my monitor speakers connected to the display and then all I need to do is plug in the usb-c cable in to my Mac and I get everything including charging.
I wanted to go with the 27″ Dell for the faster charging, but now I don’t see the point, my Mac is always charged anyway.
I bought this monitor because it has a factory calibrated display. I Have compared facial photos on the standard mode with my iPad Pro with miniLED display and the colours and tones look identical. The monitor works perfectly with my Studio Mac, no sleep/wake problem and the colour profile was automatically installed. The stand is excellent, swivels, rotates, tilts and allows height adjustment. The only downside is the sRGB mode is a bit dim otherwise I would have given the monitor five stars.
Using this monitor with a high spec PC, which I use a lot for Photoshop, but also for some gaming. It has a beautiful picture, fantastic clarity, and excellent colour definition. The in built speakers are probably not the best, but they work well enough for most day to day purposes.
For the money I am really pleased.
Make sure to update the firmware straight away otherwise you’ll have serious HDMI 2.1 issues – screen going blank or fully shutting off every few seconds or minutes.
Occasionally the screen with flicker – usually when coming out of sleep or changing inputs – where you can see the displays under neat the panel and the clear divide between the two, though will only last for a second or two.
Works very well with PS5 with HDR, 4K, and 120 Hrz over 2.1 HDMI, as well as the Mac Pro 7,1 (Desktop) over Thunderbolt.
My previous computer wasn’t iMac 27 inch and so I was worried switching to a Mac mini attached to a QHD monitor. I needn’t. Well of course it doesn’t match the 5K monitor on iMac, the difference was not noticeable enough to upset me at all. In fact, I’m pretty happy with this purchase and the quality of the screen. I have no problem recommending this monitor to anyone else making the same switch to save some cash.
Quite chunky monitor it is.
Quality of the screen is really good. I can’t see any pixels.
I was concerned about dead pixels multiple people mentioned. However, the screen came in flawless condition with 0 dead pixels.
sRGB is calibrated on low brightness so it is not really viable for office work during day.
Other modes look much better and you will actually enjoy looking at it.
HDR is fine. Just make sure you watch HDR content otherwise colours will look washed out.
The biggest limitation gaming-wise is 60hz panel. This might be sufficient for 4k gaming on medium systems but it is definitely not good enough for competitive gaming.
I had a 24″ Asus monitor and wanted to be able to open more windows at the same time when I was editing photos. Although only 3″ larger, the increased resolution gives much more screen space. The screen looks sharp and accurate. I haven’t tested the speakers as I use external speakers.
Definitely a good upgrade.
First time buying an expensive monitor. Excellent features and great image quality but I work with lots of dark screens and the light bleed & glow from the panel is just too much (worse than any panel I’ve tried)
EDIT* After receiving a replacement I now highly rate this monitor. Excellent all round and zero issues with the replacement.
Firstly Amazon took care of this brilliantly but a warning is required. Brief. Monitor turns up in very good packaging all in good condition. It won’t turn on. Zero power and yes I turned it on. Even changed the fuse. Nothing. But tell me then how I got a color calibration certificate based on a dead screen. Maybe mine was colour calibrated for the color of nothing. Point is question what you are really paying for.
Used this mainly for editing pictures. It’s reasonably priced and has two hdmi connection C connection 2xUSB sockets. For portraiture you can turn the screen 90degrees and have a full picture. Excellent product well packed and protected and delivered on time
I really like the monitor, the colours and resolution are fantastic. Refresh rate is also fine for me, I watch videos, browse the Web and play the odd game using it. The sound from the monitor is okay if a little quiet. Not sure if the ruler along the bottom is a useful feature as I have not needed it. My only slight niggles are with the On Screen Display. It’s a bit limited and seems to take a while to switch or find the display source when initially turned on. It also takes an age to show the ASUS startup screen (which you can’t seem to turn off unfortunately) which means you’ll often miss POST messages. So overall an excellent monitor but has some annoying minor niggles.
This is a great monitor had my M1 Mac and PC both connected and stunning colours and 4K images.
No blur or colour depth issue like my Samsung work 4K monitor.
Lots of connectivity and you can power a USB supported device eg Macbook Pro just using the USB C adaptor. very happy 10.10
Not really expensive for its impeccable performance. I work professionally with several Adobe software and I’m very happy with this spectacular monitor.
Its stand lets you place the screen perfectly in front of your eyes so you won’t need any additional monitor stands (unless you are a giant of course).
It works perfectly with MacBook – I connected it with the Display Port to USB-C and it works fine so far.
I can say I’m a happy customer with this purchase.
I was shocked it arrived as good as new. I feel I got a real bargin, so thank you. Everything you’d expect from the ProArt range, the blacks are lovely, the colour accuracy is amazing for the price and the delay is very small. It’s a great tool for video editing.
i spent a lot of time researching g and reading reviews on monitors before committing to this one. great spec, great colours, works perfectly over hdmi with my Apple Mac Airbook. i use mainly for photography editing so colours are clear. have watched media (youtube/netflix) on it without any issues too. 24″ perfect for my needs and space. resolution very good at that size. love the different screen lighting modes particularly in evenings when reducing blue light tiredness. cant complain! U.K. power lead was included among with all other display adaptor cables). great buy for the price. Not 4K but you don’t need 4K for everything as this resolution is very good for most non 4K needs.
I upgraded my pc to a beastly 12 core processor, 32gb ram, ssd’s, 8gb graphics card etc etc and wanted a monitor to match so after a lot of research picked this one and so far am not disappointed. it’s clear, refreshes fantastic for a smooth gaming experience as well as plenty of real eastate when programming in Visual studio 2019, and no dead pixels as far as i can tell, so believe i made a good purchase and am well happy with i
This thing is just fantastic. I was using a knackered 80 thing for a while. It was decent not too big meaning sharp but when I got this puppy fired up it was clear I had been living low monitor life till that day. Visually stunning! And the design is top tier. Also it has speakers which is a nice touch for a pricey montior. Played loads of games on it resi 8 dark souls counterstrike everything delicious in 2k and using my software is easy on the eyes and sharp so much nicer. The blacks are very black too!
Its a beautiful monitor with very good display qualities. Very happy and very impressed with the fine details that have gone in making this product. The ability to change to portrait or landscape mode is very impressive. The buttons are suitably placed, comes with reasonable cables to get it connected. Setup was a breeze, display quality is excellent. There is some way to align multiple windows, that bit I need to work out but overall an excellent product.
Highly recommended.
Although I think my son is going to use it to play games more than the stated intention of using it to listen to online lectures etc but there u go…
This monitor is just what I wanted . . !
* * * EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY * * *
I make films, and for a long time I was using an ordinary 27 inch monitor, which was okay, but I wanted an editing monitor that would represent ‘true colour’, as I could not be sure that the films I was making were colour corrected in true colour.
This monitor is ‘calman’ verified, which means that it has gone through rigorous tests and calibration processes, to ensure that it is factory colour graded.
A ProArt Display PA278QV Colour Calibration Testing Report is provided for each monitor, before it leaves the factory.
I like that the monitor controls are located on the same side as the screen, so that you can see each of the six buttons, and you can switch on a ruler and grid, which I will find to be very useful when editing my films.
I can’t say anything bad about this monitor.
I am using the Pinnacle Studio Editing Programme (PS’s 17, 20, 21, 22 and 23 Ultimate), and the picture quality is far superior, when using this ASUS monitor. . !
I had previously purchased a BenQ Designer 27 inch monitor, which was more expensive, but I was not happy with it, and returned the monitor, the screen appeared to be very dark, even with the brightness turned up to maximum.
This ASUS ProArt PA278QV has received many excellent reviews on YouTube, which is why I decided to purchase this 2560 X 1440 monitor.
So easy to set up on my pc and connected to my existing wall mount arm, I am seriously thinking of buying a second one – as I use two monitors in my editing room . . !
Bought to replace its “little brother” that was getting a bit old and had started (after nearly 10 years) to develop a couple of minor faults. Hung off my 27″ iMac 5k as second screen, using Display Port for connection leaving HDMI free to connect laptop if needed.
27″ screen is bright, colour matching exceptional (proved just how far the old screen had drifted – and how mediocre Apple’s 27″ 5k panel is). Superb detail, no obvious delay, excellent for photo/video editing al the way down to watching TV from streaming apps.
Is it expensive? Yes – but you get what you pay for.
Would I buy another? Of course.
