Use In Combination With Y-Spindle Rods For Setup At The Bottom Of Staircases
Extra Long Baby Gate Guru Spindle Rods can help your gate installation reach new places, and when used in combination with Baby Gate Guru Banister Y-Spindle Rods (sold separately) you can even install your gate at the bottom of stairs!
Use 2-3 extra long spindle rods plus 1-2 extra long banister Y-spindle rods, depending on the design of your staircase, and your pressure gate can install securely against your stair banister.
Note that pressure mounted safety gates should never be installed at the top of staircases. Only hardware mounted gates are suitable there.

Wish I’d seen these before purchasing wall nanny pads. They provide the perfect length for the gateway
Great little product, had a problem with fixing the gate on the staircase. The bottom has skirting which makes the gap at top of gate wider so the screws/fixings that came with the gate weren’t long enough. I could have bought an extra extension but wouldn’t fit at bottom, so I changed the top two bolts for longer ones and it did the trick
My tall safety gate did not fit at the top of the stairs and I couldn’t find the same height extender, I came across these which fit perfec
We bought these as we lost the originals in a house move. They fit in really easy, attach really easy, and have a good extension on them compared to the originals. They work perfectly with out lindam gates. Definitely recommend.
These work in the way of extending however the gate does wobble when the bolts are extended out so not ideal for stairs
Good replacement Spindle for a used gate we got. It fitted perfectly.
Great for extending your baby gate. I purchased as my gate was too small in width for the stairs. Very satisfied with the produc
Use in daughter’s house, just take out the existing and use these no problems at all.
Absolute game changer!
Our stair gate wasn’t quite wide enough for our door way and the extension packs would have made them too big.
However I recently discovered these and have found them so handy to have. We have a Lindam gate, a Mamia gate and an unbranded, and they fit all 3 perfect.
Much easier to do up than some others too as they have plastic nuts, rather than small metal ones
The original bolts on our gate were at their maximum extension and the gate kept pinging out when the clumsy heffalumps in my household slammed it shut. Now, in combination with some wall grips, it is really sturdy and heffalump proof. The job is a good one.
The M10 rods work with the Callowesse Kemble Narrow Sleek Pressure Fit Auto Close Stair Gate Metal with Dual Clear Locking Indicators for Baby and Pet
But DOUBLE CHECK your measurements, before you order. I ordered the above gates before then very very carefully measured the diameter, but still wasn’t sure if I got the correct measurements (I’m dyslexic)
Of course the baby gate company don’t recommend switching out the rods
Brilliant. Did exactly what they said they’d do they fit my Lindam stair gate and they were extra long. I didn’t have to throw my old stair gate out and so saved me lots of money.
A tip for other slightly dim people like me haha don’t expect them to “screw into” the stair gate. You use the stopper to wedge the stair gate in place and add the pressure for the door to work. Initially I didn’t think they fit but after sleeping on it I realised my mistake and was so happy! Stopped my dogs going upstairs after I had new carpets fitted. Yay!
If the rods are fully extended the gate doesn’t feel secure. The gate we have was slightly too small for the bottom of the stairs so these extra long rods were perfect. However the gate doesn’t feel as stable as it does in a small gap. I’m considering buying a wider gate
Bought for a non branded stair gate to stop my dachshund from going up stairs. Was very worried it wouldn’t fit as it states for the name branded ones. Very happy, fitted very well and saved me a few quid on a new stair gate. Highly recommend
Does the job for adding lenght to the baby gate, i must have bought too thick a size, which is strange considering 1 out of 4 slid straight into the gate, the rest had to be screwed in (killer on the hands)
1 got stuck and i am unable to screw it back out.
But my gates up so who cares
I couldn’t fit my pressure fit stair gate into my door as it was slightly too small for the gap. These completely solved the problem and give you the extra couple of inches you need. You just replace the existing fixtures with these which is simple. They have been holding my gate really strongly inplace without any slippage or bending.
I’ve went through the process of ordering 3 different gates recently, none of which actually reached their alleged maximum distance.
These little beauties gave me that extra .5 cm I was looking for and additional sturdiness.
The only criticism I have, is that it would be brilliant if they came with their own wall support / stickers As the heads are slightly smaller than most common brands.
I bought these as they were cheaper than getting an extension for my baby gate. I only really needed an extra inch each side of the gate. I didnt even realise the extra long bars were available! Even though you’re using extra long ones it does not make the gate feel any less safe. They even had extra chunky bolt covers so they’re easier than the ones I was originally using. So totally impressed! Have been recommending to a few people.
Does what it says on the tin. Having purchased a baby gate to keep our Jacahuahua out of the bedroom, we discovered that the door frame was one inch wider than the gate would fit. Got the gate in the sales for 12; ordering extensions would have cost 15, which seemed daft. At 10, these represented better value (although considering four shorter ones came with the gate, I would have felt 3 was enough for these!), and they extend the gate enough to fit firmly (just have to make sure the dog can’t squeeze past the side … ). Easy to fit: simply swap these for the ones which came with the gate. A decent length – but not so long as to leave a wide enough gap to trap toddlers’ heads or to allow small dogs to squeeze through.
I didn’t want to buy a new stair gate but had, over time, lost the spacers that it came with. I bought these and they fit the Safety 1st gate perfectly, even though I had lost couple of the plastic holders. The pieces are easy to install and adjust and are a great way to use your old gate and not throw it in a rubbish heap simply because you’re missing a part or two. The pieces are really sturdy, too, and don’t slip. I do recommend this product.
Perfect to get that extra reach when the gap isn’t quite big enough for an extension to the gate.
Just slide into place and they give you an extra 25mm or so width to secure the gate when you want to fit it just outside the door frame so that you can still close the door.
Perfect and very well made.
NB: The pictures also show the Baby Gate Wall Protector Silicone Pad Wall Cups I also ordered from Amazon. These are brilliant and hold the gate securely without any damage to wallpaper or gloss painted skirting.
Bought these as the baby gate I have got fit nicely at the bottom, where the space is narrower, but the existing pins were too short to secure it at the top. I kept the original bottom pins and used these for the top two to secure the gate. They are smaller diameter than the ones that came with the gate, which means they feel a touch less stable, but overall a great product and have had no issues once it was all tightened properly.
