Like above, these are incredible. For full initial price (around 450) might not be a best buy, but at the price of around 150 these are absolute steal. Comfortable like nothing else, ultra high quality craftsmanship and the sound that is just addictive.
I’ve used this headphones for one month and decided to put my review here.
I wanted headphones for gaming and for daily usage, like traveling with airplane, below my insights.
Noise Canelling: Really good, like the way how buttons work, you can slide with your finger to manage its strenght, turn off or turn on Hear trought mode. Amazing.
Comfort: They’re likely to heat under, its kinda warm in it. After long playing session on PC or long travel around 6 hours, I do like to take it off because my ears just fell really discomfort.
Audio: Here I expected a bit more. They sounds similar to my razer gaming headset for 70e from bazar. That was shock form cause i was expecting some more from Bang and Olufsen.
If i could choose one more time, i would just stick to buy Sony WH-1000XM3 for similar price and better audio quality and ANC.
Regards
It’s pretty design however not really convenient to bring around as it’s not foldable. Don’t think it comes with bag. Good price though after the discount. I had to return as I found better options but this gaming headphone is one of the good ones too.
Truly a fantastic product for the price. I use only for listening to music and watching movies although there is one major flaw to know and that is that they don’t fit into regular headphone cases as their ear cups are the largest of all B&O headphones. However there is a good quality case made by Geekria available for just 20 which makes them much more versatile. Whether they are on sale or not BUY THEM!
Fairly simple to use great sound really comfortable , 12 hr use time , good build quality produc
Bought these headphones mainly for playing
Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox. The sound quality (using the free Dolby Atmos licence included) is brilliant – I used the ready made FPS setting for online multiplayer and it really helped me in hearing approaching footsteps and the direction they were coming from. I’ve also listened to music and movies on them and again the sound is awesome. For music I reckon most people will want to mess with the EQ as the standard setting is quite light on the bass.
I noticed some reviews said the mic is too quiet but I haven’t found this. In fact, my friends said I sounded louder and more clear than with my old headset.
The build quality is top notch and they look super sleek. Despite being aimed at gaming, I’d happily wear these to the gym (if I’d gone for the other standard gaming headset I was going to get before I spotted this, I would have looked a t@*t in public in it). I got the navy version and they look great – the gold colour on the sides isn’t quite as bold as it looks in photos. It’s classy and understated. The leather ear cups are made from lamb skin and are really comfortable – they fit completely over my ears (although my ears are small!).
Connections to the app, my Xbox and to my phone have all been seamless with no dropping out.
I was tentative about ordering from this particular store after seeing their reviews (people saying high value items were missing and had been replaced with cheap items of a similar weigh, eg. shower gel) and so I ensured I ordered on my credit card for extra protection and I filmed myself opening the package just in case I needed to prove the contents to Amazon. Absolutely no issue though.
I really rate this headset and can’t fault it at such a reduced price (180). The only niggle I have is that it needs a case but with the saving I’ll happily buy one myself.
Really impressed with these headphones by Bang & Olufsen. Got an amazing deal at 180.
Didn’t buy for gaming, just for listening to music on my IPhone. Incredible sound and does not disappoint.
Highly recommend at this price
Recently I bought a second pair of the Beoplay Portal for HiRes music. Anyway after at least a year of using my first pair on games/movies I must vouch for its superp sound quality, especially movies with Dolby Atmos! The bottom line is both pairs are brilliant for game/movies and music playback. It certainly deserves five star rating from me!
I am really glad that I decided to buy the Bang and Olufsen Beoplay portal, after looking at them for months. They are definitely more versatile than my old Astro A50 Gen 4’s. The B & O’s can really be used for everything, gaming, listening to music while outside commuting, even though they are not really made for that. No one would ever know they designed for gaming, they look like a high end headphones. I absolutely love them. Now I want the H95’s 🙂
Great set of headphones, probably the best I’ve had and I’ve had a few. Mainly using for Xbox, fantastic audio with dolby Atmos for gaming. Also have to rate the B&O app, allows you to customise different audio profiles
The only downside is the ANC is a bit weak, but it’s enough when you’ve got music playing etc. it’s just not as strong as other headphones I’ve used. But the sound quality is incredible with a bit of tweaking.
It starts out a bit flat but then when you drag the equaliser about on the app it’s amazing.
Had these on all day, I’m in love!
Out of the box they don’t sound like much, but once you tweak the app to the way you like your sound then they’re on fire you have a 5 band EQ for gaming and then a separate EQ for music, I mainly listen to metal and I use the energetic setting on it it’s immense, cause i hear every nuance and the soundstage is beautiful, would be slightly better if you could just get like 10% extra volume, some older tracks play really low
You get a Dolby Atmos license with it that activates straight away on the Dolby Access app for Xbox but I much prefer the soundstage that comes from Dolby DTSX for headphones, just enable it in your Xbox audio settings after you’ve downloaded the DTSX app, if you’ve bought the license trust me it’s so much better after you’ve tweaked the EQ they way you want it
I’ve not had any connection issues as yet with my series X or any crackles or pops etc, the mic is crystal clear too, I’m using a wired CAT8 connected series x with virgin giga 1 broadband. I have a house full of gadgets and iPads for the kids and multiple Xbox’s / TV’s connected to my Wi-Fi but still no interference
Battery life is a bit on the crap side, was totally dead when I received it, fully charged it and got about 4hrs playing call of duty till it was time to die again but I think that’s cause i have them on full blast and crank the bass up a fair bit for them explosions
EDIT* I charged them overnight and now the battery lasts a good 12 hours gaming, I think I needed to give them a big charge as they were totally flat when I received them
Last point, I picked them up for 195 and I’m amazed by them for that price, I’d have paid the full 450
Hope this helps you guys decide as I was very skeptical too, but for 195 it was a no braine
I have been using this head-set for around 4 weeks now and all I can say is WOW. Sound quality is unmatched and the versatility of being able to us Bluetooth is fantastic. Yes they are expensive, but oh my word they are amazing.
Sound quality is where your money is going
Just played the the opening scene of FarCry 5 and was like being in a movie
Absolutely stunning audio emersion made every emotion so intense
And as for Bluetooth sound from a mobile device
Well that’s what this company do for a living
Spend the money you only live once
Pros: excellent microphone, USB c connectivity, software easy to update
Cons: bad battery life, annoying controls you have to manually link the headset to your Xbox everytime you turn it o
I switched over from the PS5 to the series X and soon realised that the system is relatively limited in terms of compatible headsets in comparison to Sonys console. I used the Steelseries Arctis pro on my PlayStation for years. Coming to the Xbox I have tried the Xbox wireless headset, Lucid sound LS50, Steelseries X9, Corsair Virtuoso (despite reports these are NOT compatible) and the Audeze Penrose X and now these. Without question these are far and away the best around. Superb sound with unrivalled detail and accuracy, active noise cancellation, premium build, ultra comfortable, stylish. The mic was a concern but my Warzone crew say it’s the best one. The only contender was the Audeze Penrose as they do sound great too but they are as comfortable as a torture device believe me I’ve owned two pairs! If you have the budget save yourself the time and grab these beauties. Final point the app is superb.
Great sound, as expected, from B&O.
Can tailor to different game types so, for example, in COD I can tell which direction other players are coming from by the footsteps.
Once you get used to the functionality (very simple) they’re really easy to use and flick between Xbox and Bluetooth/phone. Priced a bit top end but if they’re on offer and/or in budget then highly recommended for Xbox (& music).
App could do with some work re the speed but you don’t really need to use it once initially set up.
Guided instructions on initial setup aren’t the clearest and you need to press the sync button on the Xbox in addition to the headphones when pairing. Sounds simple but when it isn’t mentioned in the instructions you may not realise.
The sound quality is awesome, the battery life is longer than advertised I can easily get 30 hours out of full anc and somewhere near 80% volume. on xbox I can get around 15 hours and you can charge it whilst using it. I have had it over a month and there is no scratches on it, it is easy to not scratch. they are steep for the price but in the long run will pay off
One of the nicest high quality made & sounding (even better with Dolby Atmos) headsets Ive ever used for gaming, extremely lightweight and fantastically comfortable in use.
However I had to sadly return them due to the virtual mic or should I said lack of it, it just doesn’t work well at all, I had constant complaints from my fire team that they could not hear me and I sounded like I was speaking underwater, so bad I had to eventually revert back to my old headset.
I think B&O have really dropped the ball with this headset, there is certainly a market for them even at 450
And if they sorted the mic issue out in the future I would invest in another pair in a heartbeat, but that time is certainly not now.
Come on B&O your the experts in this field please sort the mic issue so I can own and use a pair once again.
