This dehumidifier works brilliantly. The 1L capacity is more than enough to last a week or more. Emptying the removable container is a breeze and automatically pauses the whole operation so you’re not going to get even a drop out of place. If you forget to empty the container it will shutdown automatically and flash the LED lights red to remind you. It is extremely quiet, and won’t disturb your sleep even if you use it in your bedroom. If you don’t want the LEDs running, they are easily turned off too.
We have a couple of dehumidifiers in our house as we are at a sea side town and we always suffer with a lot of humidity in the air. We had a small bedroom that was constantly getting damp walls from the humidity so I put in this little unit and it works superbly drying out the room.
It is only a small tank (one litre) but that is sufficient for this small room.
Really impressed and would definitely get another if I need one.
Recommended.
Nice small unit. Works really well for damp area in wardrobe.
It seems to me that there is a lot of humidity in my house, so I decided to purchase this humidifier. You can really feel the difference after using it for a few days at home, even if it was more expensive than others, its cost is justified after using it for a longer time. The capacity of the tank is 1000 l, which is enough in my opinion. I clean the filter once a week so as not to damage it. The best choice made.
Summary
Suitable for a small room.
Function
Fan speed to pull the air through the product is not great, so I use another fan to direct the air into the back of the device (air intake). I have found this works well in our ensuite bathroom as it is fairly small (approx. 2.5m x 3.0m) and in around 4 hours, the device collected 32ml of water – which doesn’t sound a lot, but the humidity decreased by around 30% in the room.
Sleep function
The product isn’t excessively loud in normal mode, but there is also a sleep function for light sleepers that decreases the noise to a lower level.
Emptying the tank
The fully transparent water collection tank pulls out from the product and the lid is easily removed to empty out the water from the tank.
Value for Money (49 at time of writing)
It certainly does work and is very compact, but if I have a larger room to dehumidify, I will be buying a much larger unit with a much greater airflow – albeit at a much higher price.
Small, compact, quiet and effective, only suitable for smaller spaces but for that, it works well

This review is for the
Belaco Dehumidifier 1000ml Portable Air Dehumidifier for Damp, Mould, Moisture in Home, Bedroom, Kitchen, Caravan, Office, Garage, Basement, Bathroom, Wardrobe.
A great device, arrived well packaged and on time. Simple to setup and use and really does help in the winter months by keeping the air moisturised. Would recommend.
I saw that there help dry clothes indoors quicker and this certainly does can’t believe how much water it took out the room
It’s easy to set up with good instructions it can be used in any room to take the moisture out sleep mode works well the filter will need cleaned occasionally it’s small but powerful the coloured lights are actually nice to
After struggling with persistent dampness in my basement, I decided to give this dehumidifier a go. It was a tad pricier than others, but its performance has justified the cost. With its compact size, it discreetly sits in a corner, quietly working its magic. Within a week, I noticed a significant reduction in the damp smell and mould spots.
The 1000ml tank capacity has been sufficient for my needs, requiring emptying every couple of days. The auto shut-off feature is a nice touch, providing peace of mind. While it has been effective in my basement, I’ve also tested it in my bedroom and wardrobe to combat moisture, with equally pleasing results.
As a piece of advice, regularly clean the filter for optimal performance. Although it’s not the cheapest option, it’s definitely a reliable and efficient choice.
This is a compact dehumidifier, its size and power rating should give you an indication of the size of rooms you can use it in, I’d suggest looking elsewhere if it’s a large room or an open plan area you’re trying to keep dry, this will not be effective for large spaces.
The unit is compact in size, meaning it can be used almost anywhere that has a small empty gap, the length of the power lead is convenient but not too long.
The unit itself runs quietly and the tank capacity is ideal for medium humidity content rooms, the unit does cut off when the collection tank is empty so not a problem.
Filter could have been better but should be effective and is easy to clean.
Just under 50 at the time of reviewing is excellent value for money too, definitely recommend for small spaces.
I have a larger, branded, dehumidifier on in my house 24/7 in this bleak, wet, English winter and it pulls around 1.5 litres of water out of the air every day. I do not expect this machine to compete in any way due to its size however, I was still a little disappointed in the amount it did extract in my kitchen with the door closed. I only got around 100ml overnight having cooked using a pressure cooker prior which does shove quite a bit of steam into the room.
I will however be using this in our motorhome which is a smaller space. This machine is definitely better in a small room.
I note that the filter is a non-replaceable one which you could (I recommend you do) clean off on a regular basis however the mesh (See photo) is not very fine and will therefore not do a great job on filtering dust. Any room has dust and this will not help the machine run efficiently so I mark this machine down a little for the filter system as I’ve already experienced how important filtering can be, especially if you are going to using this in a kitchen environment.
It is economical. It’s consumption of power is barely registered on my smart meter.
Extremely simple to use and the night lights are quite lovely.
When deciding whether this dehumidifier will meet your needs, it would be essential to consider the size of your room and, the extent of your damp issues. For me, this is great for the motorhome but insufficient for tackling the normal condensation of winter in my house.
3.5 stars for me.
This is a good dehumidifier for small rooms, like a nursery, laundry or office. It’s not completely silent but not loud either, it becomes white noise after a few minutes. It can hold up to 1000ml and it also has LED night lights. It is very easy to operate. We recommend it!
One of the standout features of this dehumidifier is its portability. The compact size and lightweight design make it easy to move from room to room or even take it with you when traveling. The unit also has a built-in handle, which makes it easy to carry.
Making it ideal for use in a variety of spaces including homes, bedrooms, kitchens, caravans, offices, garages, basements, bathrooms, and wardrobes.
In terms of operation, the Belaco Dehumidifier 1000ml is straightforward and easy to use. It has a one-button control and a simple LED display that shows the current humidity level. The dehumidifier also has an automatic shut-off function, which kicks in when the water tank is full, so you don’t have to worry about overflows.
My property was built in the late 1960’s when it was acceptable to build homes with Thermablock (like a breeze block) with a stone rendering.
Being a semi-detached I have 3 walls exposed to the elements.
Over the past 60 years, time has now proven ‘Thermablock’ is no match against the UK’s wet & windy weather and now I’m essentially left living in a ‘sponge’… which seems to absorb every raindrop that falls against the walls on my property.
This dehumidifier is proof of how much water vapour is extracted out of the walls and in the air, in my home.
It’s absolutely shocking what this machine can pull into its collection chamber, and how humid the air really is.
Since using this, I have had no condensation on the inside of my windows, and the fabric curtains and bedding doesn’t feel cold and damp.
For the first 2 days it was a ‘novelty’ of having the LED multicolured lights shining on the collection. But after this I turned the light off and just let the machine work quietly in the background.
It’s also great to use if you plan on decorating a room, using this machine prior to and during painting and decorating will extract all the water vapour to speed up the drying time for paint.
If its too damp in the room, paint won’t dry, or will do, but patchy.
I really like the appearance of this Belaco Dehumidifier. It is very neat and will not look out place in most rooms. It utilises semiconductor technology to enable the process of capturing moisture from the air in conjunction with the internal fan, which is then collected in the integrated water container. This makes it economical to run for extended periods, though it’s operating efficiency will be significantly reduced if operating in room temperatures below 12 C.
The Dehumidifier is supplied with a mains adaptor which has a good length of cable and as it is only 36watts the energy consumption is low compared with refrigerant based units. For a smaller room or area where controlling lower levels of moisture is required this Dehumidifier is a good option. It is not suitable for large very damp areas as it simply will not be able to remove sufficient amounts of airborne moisture.
I don’t personally find the operating noise an issue as it is reasonably quiet at 40db. It has a built in carrying handle and is easy enough to move from one room to another as it only weighs 1.32kg. The water container has a tilting float mechanism with a magnet to enable the dehumidifier to shut down automatically once the tank is full. The container simply draws out from the front of the dehumidifier for emptying. It also has a built in LED light which illuminates the transparent container with a range of seven selectable colours to provide some subtle ambient lighting.
I have been using this Dehumidifier for just over a week now and it has been collecting 250-300ml each day and the small amount of condensation which was present on our bedroom windows each morning is no longer a daily occurrence. In the long term I’m sure this will help prevent mould and help keep moisture in the room significantly reduced. Overall I am really pleased with the design and function of this dehumidifier. For smaller rooms or lower amounts of humidity it works very well. Recommended.
I bought this dehumidifier to use in my spare bedroom, where I often notice a musty smell and dampness. I was impressed by how easy it was to set up and use. It has a detachable water tank that can hold up to 1000ml of water, which is enough for several days of operation. It also has an auto shut-off feature that turns off the device when the tank is full or when the timer is up. The dehumidifier is very quiet and does not disturb me at all. It has a coloured LED light that changes according to the humidity level, which is a nice touch. I can see and feel the difference in the air quality after using this dehumidifier. Time will tell if it helps with the smell. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a portable and effective dehumidifier for small spaces.
If you have a smaller room or just want to pull a lower amount of moisture out of a space, this dehumidifier could be ideal for you 🙂
It’s certainly not going to be big enough if you have a larger room with a considerable relative humidity or condensation problem, but it’s the perfect size for my bedroom that tends to creep up over 70% relative humidity in the winter and makes me feel rotten.
I’m very careful about my electricity usage (as most of us are these days!), so with the rating of 36W/hour for this product, it’s not going to hurt too much if you have it running for prolonged periods of time.
On my first night of using the dehumidifier, it pulled over 300ml of water out of the room and I was really surprised. By the morning the RH had gone from 67% to 46%, which is the lowest it’s been in ages!!
I could hear the dehumidifier running but it wasn’t an off putting or overly loud noise and you expect some level of noise from a product like this.
Beyond how effective it is, this is by far one of the nicest dehumidifiers I’ve seen on the market. I know looks aren’t everything, especially with a product like this that is providing a very specific service but it’s nice when something isn’t entirely utilitarian looking.
I’m really pleased and my breathing is definitely improving 🙂
I recently got my hands on the Belaco Dehumidifier Portable Air Dehumidifier and let me tell you, this little machine is a game changer.
I’ve always had a bit of a damp problem in my small basement (nothing too serious, just the occasional creepy crawly and a musty smell that would make your eyes water). But with this dehumidifier, it’s like I’m living in a whole new world! The air is fresher, the walls are dryer, and my creepy crawly friends have packed their bags and moved on to greener pastures.
And it quiet too….oh, so quiet. Bjork would be proud.
This dehumidifier is portable too, so you can take it with you wherever you go. I mean, who doesn’t want to take their dehumidifier on a road trip?! You never know when you might need it. Plus, it’s like a fun little science experiment – you get to see all the moisture get sucked up into the machine and watch as the water tank fills up (warning: may cause excitement for people who are easily amused).
But the best part? This dehumidifier is perfect for my built in wardrobe! I live in a very old cottage that has serious damp issues. No more damp clothes or shoes – I can finally wear my favourite sweater without feeling like I’m wearing a soggy sponge. And don’t even get me started on my shoe collection – they’ve never smelled better!
Overall, if you’re looking for a dehumidifier that’s portable, easy to use, and will leave your basement (and wardrobe) feeling like a million bucks, the Dehumidifier 1000ml Portable Air Dehumidifier is the way to go. Trust me, your creepy crawly friends will thank you.
The Belaco Dehumidifier came securely packaged once removed you get the nice modern esq looking and stylish design with its sizing having a nice ability to be placed just about anywhere for me that being inside a cabinet to help keep filament dry.
The fans that are inside of this aren’t particularly loud but can be noticeable overall even when in sleep mode this lowers the fan speed but it does not make a real noticeable difference but at the same time regardless it has not affected my sleeping when on it’s normal setting permanently that being said I do have it inside of a cabinet.
Overall I really like this little humidifier it does a cracking job for what I need it todo, being placed inside a cabinet full of different spools of filament and keeps them in tip top condition overall for my 3D printing.
Few pre notes that I’ve noticed and some features which aren’t utilised by myself-
– [ ] On the listing it claims to be 36w but in fact it’s 45w
– [ ] The humidifier has a lighting feature in which you can choose between 7 different colours
– [ ] Lighting doesn’t work during its sleep mode
– [ ] The fan speed difference does not seem to reduce sound (but this doesn’t affect my basis as its stored inside a cabinet)
For my purpose though this has been a blessing overall since this has gave me the ability to make a huge filament drying box/cabinet and I’m delighted so I would recommend but for a room basis I do believe it may slightly lack performance depending of course of the size of a the room it’s operating in.
I love how this looks as diffuser, other brands can make them so small as desktop units that they often fail to deliver what you need but this is as robust as it is stylish. Has a good size water tank to ensure long time use during the day or night, very easy to use and though not a fan of RGB lighting, this has a good use of it for night time mode with a strong light across the RGB range that looks great. Its size allows it to be positioned very easily where needed, not as heavy as it looks just be mindful to not carry it with the water tray…holding water, best to empty anything in there, position the unit and then refill the tray. Very impressed with this.
This dehumidifier is amazing! It effectively removes dampness from my bedroom and bathroom, leaving the air feeling fresh and clean. The 1000ml water tank is easy to detach and empty. Plus, the device is stylish and portable, making it a great addition to any room! The seven changeable night lights and sleep mode function are excellent features.
I have dust mites allergy and they need a humidity level of 65% to survive and procreate. That’s the level that can be easily managed by using this humidifier. Best of all, it’s ultra-quiet, helping me get a peaceful night’s sleep. I have been feeling so much better in the mornings after we started using this dehumidifier.
I highly recommend the Belaco Dehumidifier to anyone dealing with excess moisture and mold issues in their home or office.
For such a compact unit this is surprisingly powerful. Plug into the mains electricity, switch on and after just an hour or two, water is already collecting in the tank.
Very simple to operate, with one Power button for On and Off. The unit makes a low burring sound, which is slightly reduced when the Sleep function is selected. The Light button can be toggled to offer various coloured light settings if that floats your boat. When the tank is full it’s easy to remove and empty.
I live in a new build home and the foundation of my kitchen was retaining water underneath because of poor drainage and whatever else the company messed up! waiting on the building contractor during covid to actually get it fixed was horrific. I ended up with soaking wet walls and damp. My kitchen still isn’t fixed but drainage work has started in my back before the foundation is fixed. I bought this to try and retain some of the moisture in the walls and help stop the mould. It’s significantly making a difference and it’s I’ve even noticed the smell of the mould and damp disappearing. I do have a sever case at the back door and this machine isn’t going to fix it but until my work commences it has helped hugely! I’ve found it helps with concentration on my windows and my walls don’t feel as damp!
These machines are so worth it, today I woke up and there was no new mould spores for the first time in nearly 3 years!!
This Belaco Dehumidifier 1000ml came nicely packaged, with foam inner supports fully protecting the product during shipping.
The Belaco Dehumidifier has a very sleek and stylish design, & can be placed anywhere in the home without it looking out of place.
There is also an RGB function where you can have the water tank light up 7 different colours.
Red.
Yellow.
Green.
Light blue.
Dark Blue.
Purple.
Lilac.
All these colours work in the normal mode, they go off if you select sleep mode.
You can not have the lights on in the sleep function.
The sleep mode turns the lights off and slows down the RPM of the fan to reduce the noise by roughly 10%.
Even in the sleep mode you can still clearly hear the fan. It’s not well loud, but it’s certainly not quite either.
I have another mini dehumidifier that I got from amazon, and that model is quieter than this version.
This Belaco Dehumidifier Is 40dbB on normal mode, and 30dB in sleep mode.
If you can sleep with a little noise, then you will certainly benefit from leaving the Dehumidifier on whilst you’re sleeping, because then it should catch some of the moisture from breathing during the night.
In the manual, it states a water tank capacity of 1000ml and the coverage area <300sq. ft and the work capacity is 450ml/day between (86F, 80%/RH.
I left the Dehumidifier on in sleep mode for 24 hours during my tests, and it collected just 100ml of water.
The wattage on the bottom of the unit says 45w, so by consuming that amount of watts for only 100ml of water doesn't seem very beneficial to us to be honest.
I poured the water into a jug so you can see the measurement of how much water the Dehumidifier took out of the air.. please see photos for reference.
I may do another test for 24 hours on full power and update this review in the future.
Overall, it's a nice little unit. It looks sleek & stylish; it has nice RGB lighting, but the noise & electricity consumption for only 100ml of water doesn't seem beneficial to us.
Hope my review was helpful.
