Bought this for my wife so we can be dry hiking in the rain. I have the men’s version. Great jacket lightweight and easy to store. Great style and shape also. I wear a baseball cap under the hood and it works perfectly. Great brand and quality.

Well made and fashionable, but honestly for what it is you are paying for the branding; and could probably get something similar elsewhere with no logo. It was on offer though, so might have kept it otherwise. it came up on the small side for me though, so had to return. I’m normally a 16-18 for reference.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI needed a small coat for when it’s too warm for a big coat but not cold enough to wear nothing, so I chose this. I prefer my coats to be larger than my typical size, so despite being a size 12, I ordered a size 14 which, to be honest, is still on the snug side; I should have gone for at least a size 16, but it does the job; just be aware that this isn’t a long coat, as it sits just on my waist. It’s also a lightweight coat, so it won’t keep you warm in the winter.

I really like this rain jacket. It’s a great fit , made from good quality material and does it’s job well keeping the water off. Fitted well – I’m a size 14.

Good jacket but seems overpriced at 100 pounds I think. I mean I really like it it’s comfortable and with this size chart I think you can put some layers under as well – at least for me that was the case. Perfect in windy rainy weather and I love the hoodie

My teenage daughter is using this as a coat to wear to school – they have to wear a black or dark blue coat with no large logos allowed, so this is ideal. The good points:

Waterproof – my daughter has a 1.5 mile walk to school in this coat keeps her fully dry on top
Lightweight – easy to carry around during the day
    Good size hood
    2 good external zip pockets

    The not so good points:

    No internal pocket
It’s small for size – it’s nicely shaped but I suggest ordering a size up from your usual
Fabric is a little noisy when moving around!

I wasn’t sure about this jacket when I got it out the packaging as it as it reminded me a bit of childhood cagouls which may have kept you dry but were inflexible and actually made you sweat. Not this though – it is lightweight and extremely effective in the rain, so it means you don’t have to wear a big heavy waterproof jacket and you don’t overheat.

The pockets are also deep enough to fit loads in and the jacket could also be packed in a bag if you were going out and weren’t sure of the weather, as it folds easily and can be very compact.

I’d recommend this jacket for any outdoor pursuits in the rain — it’s a little thinner than I expected but it’s still waterproof.

Got this for the wife as she was looking for one. Quality is brilliant and is perfect for the purpose. This is a waterproof rain shell jacket. Very lightweight and jacket is machine washable. Well stitched and hood is perfect size. Can be use as wind breaker but this is not a winter jacket.
Overall good quality product from a well known brand but I find little experience. At the time of review this product was available for 95.98.

Definitely a spring/summer lightweight coat, this has a tailored fit which looks smart and classy. The big problem is it comes up pretty snug, so I’d suggest going a size up if you want to wear a fleece or jumper underneath it.

Impressively light but holds its shape, waterproof but doesn’t seem to be sweaty, and cuts the wind so is good at keeping you warm when out and about.

Arguably less for hiking and more designed for around town given the slim fit and light weight.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis nice Berghaus waterproof jacket is nice and compact so perfect to keep in the car or a bag in case it rains. It’s really thin and yet keeps the wind off and you dry but won’t keep you that warm if it’s a cold day.
The hood is a good size and does feel annoying on your neck when it’s up or down, then it can enclose around your face keeping the wind out.
Length wise it’s a nice full length of the body and just covers the top of my bum which is perfect for a raincoat. I would say this size 14 comes up a little small, so if you are on the fence go for a larger size.
Overall, at 96.99 you are paying for the name, but it is well made, and all the seams are watertight so I am very happy with it.

I didn’t really think about colour choices when I selected this jacket, I just defaulted to my normal favourite: red. Afterwards I slightly regretted this decision as I already have a lot of red clothes, and I also really like the two-tone blue version. With the coat in my possession, I’m not sorry I opted for the Goji Berry shade: it’s a good, strong, bright red similar to the colour of holly berries. Red might be a bit of a wardrobe clich for me, but it is emphatically my favourite colour and I like this a lot.

This is a very light weight waterproof jacket. Despite the light weight, this is a lined jacket and the seams are sealed to prevent leakage around the small holes in the fabrics created by sewing needles.

There are two external pockets with zip fastenings, but no internal pockets. The sleeves end in straight cuffs, and have Velcro tabs around the outsides so that they can be adjusted to give a close fit against inclement weather. The hood is adjustable via elasticated cords at the back and at the sides of the face. There’s no padding, but this is nonetheless quite a warm outer layer. The fabric used is waterproof, but breathable. The jacket folds/rolls up to a really neat, compact size that’s easy to store.

The branding on this is fairly understated: a simple black outline of the divided parallelogram shape and the Berghaus name on one side of the chest, and an outline of the parallelogram logo on the back of the hood.

A good, practical, lightweight waterproof jacket. In a most excellent colour!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a lovely jacket which is very warm being that it is windproof and waterproof. It has many good features including zipped pockets which my model (mum) loved. It also has a zipped part which goes right up to the nose. The wrists are cuffed with Velcro, to make as tight or loose as you want.
I do however think the price is extortionate for what it is and would say it is NOT good value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bit expensive

This is a very nice waterproof jacket, it is, however, lightweight and thin so while it will keep you dry it won’t keep you too warm.

This is a brand I know and I do own several items from them and so I know they are a very good maker of outdoor wear. This jacket is well made and it is of very good quality. The jacket is a nice fit and has good sized pockets. The zip is also of good quality and has a tab that is a decent size for opening and closing. There is a hood with this and it has a toggled drawstring on the front and there is also an adjuster on the back of the hood to reduce the amount the hood comes around the face.

This is a good jacket, it is waterproof and windproof but as it is a single layer jacket it won’t keep the cold out. It is great for having in a bag if you are out walking as it will provide good protection against the typically unpredictable weather.

I do like this, I just think it is a little expensive for a single layer, thin jacket and I would recommend it.

I have had several Berghaus jackets over the years which shapes your expectations when you get a new one-I was not disappointed in terms of the quality and finish on offer here-it is in the best traditions of the house. What did catch my attention was the thickness of the garment or rather the lack of it-this was the thinnest I had personally come across. The material is a kind of coated Polyamide which is very good for repelling moisture and it seems to be that this jacket would be ideal in typically British weather-quite strong rain, but not especially cold. It does not seem to have the depth of lining or insulation for higher level Winter hiking or trekking but would work well with persistent rain with the hood and collar coming together in a concealed zip which keeps you cosy and allows space for a scarf although some might find it a touch claustrophobic, it does provide an effective waterproof barrier around the face. The Size 14 I received fitted as one would expect in length, sleeve and across the chest. Given the quality, the price tag is not excessive and in the British climate this is a near ideal jacket for much of the year and hence a good buy.

This is a shell jacket rather than a full-on winter coat. It’s remarkably thin, and I’m a little surprised it’s been referred to as “warm”. Yes it’s warmer than not wearing it, and it’s not a breathable jacket so it does hold heat in, but for a full gruelling Winter hike you would want a lot more than this jacket to protect you against the elements.

But what it does do, undeniably well, is rainproofing. The material has a slightly waxy and tent-like quality to it, without being unpleasant to the touch, and water barely seems to touch it. A nicely shaped hood which curls around into an under-chin compartment for tucking the zip away allows you to tuck long hair or a scarf safely within it, and adjust it until you feel snug, protected without being claustrophobic. Velcro fastenings on the wrist allow adjustment too. The zip pockets are sturdily protected too and reasonably well-sized.

The shape of the coat is reasonable for me. It is a little bit snug around the bosom area when wearing a thicker jumper underneath, but unfortunately I’m accustomed to that with coats. There’s plenty of movement around the shoulders and the arms and bottom are both a reasonable length, neither hanging over my wrists too far nor leaving them exposed to the elements. It’s a good fit for the size.

The Goji Berry colour is rather eye-catching, a rich and bright red that’s remarkably close to Parkrun T-shirt colours. The contrast with the dark blue inner lining is rather nice and makes me wish some of the dark blue had been added on the outside too for a stylish contrast. It’s bolder than I might normally wear, but as it will end up getting used for situations where wearing a high-visibility coat is probably a good idea for safety reasons, I’m happy with it.

The current asking price is a hundred quid for this jacket and I think for that money quite a few people will be disappointed at how insubstantial and thin it feels. However it’s a very good quality material and certainly well designed.

An amazing jacket, well worth the money, so warm, only downside is it comes right up under your chin which can be annoying but with more wear it will softe
