Very Good For Battery Operated Light. Brilliant for lighting up shared passage to back gardens it is really dark and lights up so not so scary when I have to take my bins out every week.
I bought these to help my elderly dogs night vision. He has partial sight in one eye and as the light level drops so does his sight. I have three of these placed around the pathway from my back door to the garden to guide him on his nighttime stroll when he goes outside. They are nice and bright and illuminate a large area and on the time function should last a long time. They detect movement and dim to half output if he stands still too long. They have made it much better for my dog and he seems to walk with more confidence now he can follow the path of light.
This a great light so easy to install and the motion sensor works really well
Once installed, motion detection was good although not quite 10m range as advertised. It was more like 5m but that’s perfect for me as that’s about halfway up the drive meaning people walking on the pavement or cars just beyond the drive won’t set it off.
Light is very bright, as expected of LEDs but brightness maintained even with the included frosted covers installed. Given the brightness I’d be very surprised if batteries last anywhere near the advertised 18 months but as long as I don’t need to change the batteries for at least two to three months I’d still be happy.
Don’t really understand how the ‘XTEN’ mode will give longer battery life when it’s on for longer at max strength for about 10 seconds then 20% strength for further 40 seconds or so before turning off whereas the standard setting is 10 seconds max strength before dimming for a few seconds then turning off. As such I’ve just kept it at the standard setting.
Overall very happy for a wireless security light solution.
Edit Update: have had the light for just under 12 months now and the light was noticeably dimmer after about 6-7 months. As I’ve said above even if batteries lasted 2-3 months I still would’ve been happy, so am even more so with 6-7 before a battery change.
