Which staples are suitable for the staple gun?

Please use only original Bosch fine wire staples of type 53 (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm or 10 mm). The tacker’s precision parts are optimised for Bosch staples. Other manufacturers use different steel grades and dimensions.

Which length of staple should I use?

We suggest a ratio of 1:2 based on our experience: For example, when covering the seat of a wooden chair with a 2 mm thick fabric cover, the staples should penetrate into the wood by 4 mm. Therefore, the staples should have a minimum length of 6 mm

How many staples can I use with one battery charge?

That depends on the application. The shorter the staples are and the softer the wood is, the more staples you can process. In our experience, a battery charge lasts for at least 400 staples.

Can I use the stapler for paper?

Yes, you can use the paper stapler to attach up to 60 sheets of paper.

Can I use the staple gun to create booklets?

Yes, you can use the booklet maker to easily bind loose sheets of paper into small booklets. Perfect for family celebrations, recipe collections, holiday memories and more.

I purchased this to staple down a cover over my motorbike seat and this worked brilliantly. No issues at all punching stables into the seat and the battery life was great. Very happy with this purchase.

Great machine, so glad I purchased it halfway through trying to reupholster my wing back armchair. Initially I used a manual stapler but I struggled to push down hard enough for the staples to go into the wood. This little machine is sturdy, easy to use and doesn’t require brute strength. It’s light enough not to cause hand fatigue when stapling large areas. So glad I decided to buy it. Just need to find some more things to staple . Love it!

Superb, easy to use, lightweight, just brilliant.
I am using this for my re-upholstery business and it has transformed how easy it has made recovering my chair seats. Dont hesitate, just buy it!

This small weighty stapler makes it easy to press against different materials. The one cell lithium battery delivers enough power for 6-8mm staples in soft wood. I am impressed and hope this tool lasts.

Lightweight tacker made covering my dining chairs a breeze of a task! . Could get into corners easily. Loading the staples couldn’t be easier. Safety feature when firing the staple a good idea. Produced a professional finish. Written by Nana!

This is such a good stapler.
Already used it for relaying down some undrlay.
    So easy to use.
Not charged it back up yet, but still plenty of charge still in it for a couple of upholsterey jobs about 2 weeks after the underlay job.
    Great piece of kit.

More than adequate for DIY purposes. Staples driven in well and accurately, and very easy to operate. The easy placing and operation of the gun makes it much easier to achieve a nice clean, neat job. A great buy which I would thoroughly recommend.

I used this to upholster a chair and it was ideal for the job. Soon got the knack of how to use it and I was glad I chose it over a ‘manual’ one. As a Bosch it’s also well built and feels sturdy in your hand.

Bought this as the manual one I purchased was heavy and uncomfortable to use. This one connects well and is relatively easy to use once you get the feel of it. I used it to upholster a child’s chair. Swift working tool.

What a great product. I’ve been struggling with a hand held industrial stapler for years and this product is life-changing! I make curtains and soft furnishings and for pelmets this is perfect. You don’t have to use much force and the staples go in first time. Absolutely brilliant – wish I’d bought it ages ago!

I do like this tracker but have only used it on one project so far.
The only negative comment would be that the Bosch staples are made from thinner wire than my manual stapler but this may not be an issue to everyone.
    Overall a great little stapler.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this to replace my old Arrow electric stapler which was a fairly heavy duty stapler that uses thick staples.
When I opened the box and saw the size of the staples that came with this product, I really didn’t think it was going to be good enough to staple the screening material I had bought to my wooden fence post.
How wrong was I, it worked like a dream, packs far more punch that I believed it could.
    Highly recommended.
Also you can buy additional cheaper staples from various outlets that fit this machine.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNice light weight tool. Easy to load and use . Used most of a day putting several hundred staples in and battery still performing well. Not as powerful as I hoped . I was only using 8 mm staples that came with it to fasten thin nylon netting to softwood frame and whilst it did this well I think it would struggle to knock 10 mm staples fully into softwood

I bought this to reupholster my dining room chairs. This stapler was so easy to use and didn’t hurt my hand like a normal stapler. It was fast and drove staples into my hardwood chairs very efficiently. I love it and I expect to find loads of other uses in the future.

Superior in every way, can’t fault this gun, safety features are spot on, usage well super speedy, light to handle easy to load. Perfect for me, I have reupholstered 4 dining chairs, a headboard and now a sofa, it’s so much better than my last heavy manual one, well worth the investment.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat little stapler. Bought it to reupholster some dining chairs. The job proved too much for our old stapler which isn’t electric. The staples just bounced off the wood base. Bought this Bosch and it works great. Used 6mm staples which worked every time. The Bosch is supplied with a box of 8mm staples. It takes a while to charge up. It looks and feels well made and sturdy and is dead easy to load up and use. It costs more than some alternatives but we offset the expense of having to have the chairs recovered by a professional, and now we have it we can do more jobs in the future.

First use today on recovering a headboard- why didn’t I get one sooner.
Easy to load, minimal effort to use although having small hands after the first 100 staples I needed to give my hand a rest.
They power into the fabric and hold it tight so much better than the Arrow handheld
    I have.
Recovering 2 sofas next so I hope it lasts well.
Only thing I want now is a power staple remover – Oh but wait I have one – my husband.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersBought to replace a heavy duty manual staple gun. Used to cover a large pelmet. Instinctively easy to use. Press down where you want the staple, hold and press the button. Continue holding until the final “click”. Lift too soon and it will not drive the staple in correctly. I found it fast and easy. Went through Linen, wadding and into MDF easily. Better still, easier on the hands. I’m looking for my next upholstery project just so I can use it again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfec

If you’ve ever used a heavy duty stapler for any length of time, your hands will start to hurt. I stapled silver bubble wrap insulation inside the loft at my old house. My stapler was a big one and every staple sent a shock down my arm. This one is great and effortless. It’s good value and it holds its charge for months when not in use. If I broke it, I would buy the same one agai

Another neat and useful tool from Bosch.
Charges quickly, easy to load and operate and so much quicker and easier than a manual stale gun.
I put insulation up in my loft with this in about half the time it took me to do the other side!
Great – just a bit downside, hence 4 stars

Won’t do the hard wood in antique chairs but did not expect it to, but is great for soft wood and everything else, so really good value for money and hugely superior to the others I have had except for the ancient Black and Decker which one can’t get any more and which died of years of hard labour. But I am not disappointed with this machine’s performance.

  24. IslaEastwood says:

     United Kingdom

Great product but not strong enough for hard woods. The staples don’t go all the way and sometimes bend. Also the cartridge pops out now and again. Ok for light wood home craft projects. I would not recommend for upholstery jobs. Cartridge could do with holding more staples.

Love this product, easy to use, even single handedly. The one I had previously(a Stanley product), you had apply pressure to the top to stop the stapler bouncing back on releasing the trigger, but that is not necessary with this one. My one criticism is that there is not an on/off switch, so I am quite wary when refilling with staples, even though to set it of during this process would be quite a feat. But I am very accident prone so probably not impossible. On the whole though, definitely recommend. Long charge life too.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersI use the Bosch corded electric Stapler (Bosch PTK 14) to recover Pooltable cushions. I bought the Cordless version of the same to try to give some freedom of trying to find a electric outlet to connect to on site.
The Bosch PTK 3.6 LI Cordless Tacker works very well it secures the staples well and does give the freedom needed. the drawback for me is the delay between delivering the staple. with the electric tacker it is fast as you need but the cordless seems to have a delay between delivery, except for that it is a great tool for on site work. I think for the DIY use it would be perfect.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have always used manual staplers in the past and although I’ve never really had a problem, I wanted to re-upholster 10 office chairs and I thought this might make it easier – and it certainly does. The charge is still going strong after 3 strips of staples and with 8mm and 10mm it has enough force to staple strong without any shaking of the stapler. There is also a nice safety feature so you can only staple into things and not fire them at your “friends”. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe’ve just had our bathroom done and the ceiling was a mess where we’d moved lights etc.
It needed plastering but with the nib walls we’d had put in plus the fact that it’s only a small room meant it wouldn’t be the easiest one to plaster.
After a lot of looking around we agreed on cladding when I finally found some large simple white that I liked.

Which bring me to this tacker.
We bought this so my hubby could tack the cladding up and it’s worked really well.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis review is now updated after few months of using this tool. When you load a full magazine of staples the magazine can open when discharged. But this goes away after first staple.
We use it for stapling stretched canvas prints onto the canvas bars. It works very well and now after few months of using it, we couldn’t go without it. Battery last very long, but if you need to use it all day around you really need to buy second gun. So while one is in charge the other one is in use. Once you start using it, you will find so many uses for it, such as upholstery repair, or even strengthening picture frames.
It’s a must have in anyones toolbox.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersThis is a really great machine. It is safe, depending on perfect placement of the nose but won’t get into those difficult corners where a long nose tacker is needed.
Amazon sell a package which includes 12mm staples. It wouldn’t work with them. When I researched it through Bosch, I found that it is designed for 8mm and 10mm but not 12mm. After pointing this out to Amazon they refunded the cost of the 12mm staples, which should be removed from their advertising with this tacker.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI ordered this Tacker when my old power Tacwise diied the death, this one obviously hasn’t the power that a 240 volt mains unit has, but it’s not far behind. It’s also a better shape and size and gets int places that the old one wouldn’t. I’ve used it in the garden tacking up trellises, tacking fleece up to the trellis to protect plants from frost, and also tacking 5mm plywood to 2 by 1 for a model railway layout… it’s done the lot. The battery holds it’s charge for ages, and takes a very shot time to recharge.. I’m really pleased I bought it…
