Love this, so easy to use, my only critique would be the odd shape of where you fill it up, can be a little bit awkward but overall I love i
Fantastic purchase for the one cuppa in the morning rather than filling and boiling more water than you need and waiting for a boil in a traditional kettle, this thing ticks all the boxes and for the max 1 min boil time I don’t find it noisey in fact less so, A must buy
This style of kettle offers everything to someone like me who has very arthritic hands. I fil the kettle in the morning and that is the only time I have to lift that weight, each time I use it after that is a press of the button.
The dispenser is a good size for worktop. The amount of water dispensed into mug not great, it’s on the small size if you want a larger cup if you fill twice it’s too much water and spills over. It’s very loud to use.
I’m enjoying it. It is doing the job great.. Using a lot already.. The only downside it is not hot enough for my wife.. The water is hot for me but my wife is complain and using the microwave for extra 39 sec as she claims not hot enough.. Anyway she is doing the same with the bean to cofee machines so I presume she want much hot then most of the people
Things that could be improved: the hole to fill it is small, the lid flips upright but could get in the way of the tap. Therefore I’m using a jug and a Funnel which means a few trips to the tap, but at least I’m not tipping a heavy, hot kettle.
I drink a lot of tea and coffee and I thought this would be easier and more economical than boiling a full kettle for 1 cup
It’s a great item and would definitely recommend this
Looks nice not over big easy to fill full mug of very hot water no heavy lifting perfect if you have difficulty picking a kettle up mug tea ready in a minute best thing I’ve bought for a long time
I have had one of these one cup pots for a few years and wouldn’t be without it. It only rapidly boils enough for one cup at a time, saving energy, and is easy to fill up after about 6 cups. I have purchased a few for various friends and family. A great invention.
I fill it up by using a jug rather than lifting it off the base, put your mug underneath and press the button. Boils just enough for one mug of tea/coffee and it’s really quick – no messing. Saving energy is a priority in this day and age and this hot water dispenser is perfect, boiling just enough water needed.
The unit looks really nice too and lights up the clear plastic a lovely blue. Easy to clean. I have nothing negative to say
Out of all the kettles I’ve bought (I’ve had loads) this has to be my favourite but the one issue I have is that the bulb inside no longer illuminates and I’m 90% sure I can’t replace it.
The only thing I don’t like with this is the loud noise it makes when dispensing water. Also leaks a little when full. The opening for filling is very small and awkward as doesn’t fit comfortably under the tap.
Only thing is it can be a little noisy… sounds like the coffee machine plop plop tizz tizz sssssteam. kinda thing … but it’s quick and I can’t complain at the price either…
So anyway, I bought exactly the same model as replacement, not least because it is the cheapest model from a known manufacturer, and you don’t really need the extra bells and whistles.
The only slight difference between the 2023 and 2016 model is that the 2016 model had a ‘number of cups’ scale printed on the side of the jug, but the 2023 model doesn’t. Not a big deal.
Assuming the same lifespan, this one should keep us in tea until 2030!
You are limited to 250ml per serving, loved the thing but wanted more flexibility so I then purchased its big brother which delivers between 100ml to 350ml per serving. Same brand. As I say if you can put up with 250ml per serving go for this model and save 30.
Bought this for my elderly mother with dementia. It doesn’t boil as hot as a kettle, needs filling quite often but I feel more at ease now my mother doesn’t have to lift a kettle full of boiling wate
I love this kettle, it dispenses the perfect amount for a single cup each time and is piping hot. Holds enough water for about 5 or 6 mug fulls, so will work even if you have company. I’ve had it a month and no limescale build-up at all so far. I like that its aesthetically pleasing and the blue light brings me such joy.
Does exactly what it says 1 cup kettle take less time to boil not waisting energy boiling a kettle for 1 cup of coffee also if you put it on and walk away to do something else come back your cuppa is waiting on you no reboiling kettle and pouring just grab and go
After reading about another company’s kettle ( very popular at the moment) which takes 50 seconds to boil one cup. Well this little beauty takes 30 seconds to boil one cup (yes I timed it). Perfect amount of water for a brew. Compared to the “other” company’s kettle it’s more economic in my opinion. Who wants a kettle with a keep hot button which you pay for keeping it switched on for 30 mins (optional obviously) when you can have this one that boils in 30 seconds. It’s a little noisy but only lasts for a short time. It’s a win win for me for economy
As I have only had it a few days I cannot judge its energy efficiency.
I bought this for my mother in law, who at 94 was struggling to lift a kettle.
Easy to put together, minimal assembly. Easy to understand instructions ( she’s also a bit deaf but won’t admit it!). It dispenses a cup full of boiling water in about 20 seconds. The water tank is easy to fill with a small jug. A good product in my opinion!
The hot water dispenser is nicely designed & without any technical gizmos I couldn’t check if it really is energy efficient. But it works quickly & it’s clever that it can heat one mugful at a time. I will be able to fill it in the morning and just press a button whenever I want another drink. Good. But it is very noisy when the water is being dispensed – that’s not really a big issue because it is so quick. Just hope it’s built to last. So far, so good.
This is the third machine I have bought. The first lasted many years, but the second only lasted just over a year, the switch failed due to steam ingress. This time , now I am aware, I take precautions to keep this area dry as possible.
This one looks great, especially when blue-lit, and boils quickly, although noisier than the older one.
Handy top be able to lift from it;s base and fill at the tap like a kettle but heavy if you have weak wrists.
If you fill it using a jug, the opening at the top is not as big as the previous model and the lid hinges at the front so it flips forward and can feel a bit awkward.
A couple of tweaks would make this 5 star but overall really good and better than a kettle 99% of the time (not useful for filling hot water bottle though….)
Bought this for my elderly mum who finds lifting a kettle to be rather heavy. Brilliant idea in dispensing the water but the on/off switch is a bit naff, and doesn’t feel like it will last the lifetime of the “kettle”. Easily knocked on when reaching across it. It should be slightly firmer switch, and mounted down the side/handle of the container to avoid accidents.
The new unit is almost identicai. The only differences I’ve noticed are it is black instead of white & Breville seems to have decided it can save money by only printing the level detail on one side of the unit, rather than both.
Works great, ideal for one person. Not so great when you have guests, so doesn’t entirely obviate the need for a normal kettle.
Only issue with these is that they only dispense a set amount of water, so you need to ensure your cup is the right size to prevent overfilling. There is a model available with variable output, but it’s considerably more expensive &I suspect more likely to fail, so I opted to stick with what I know.
The noise they moan about , well it’s simply boiling a mug in about 30 seconds so of course it makes a noise. It is a bit of a start the first time but you get used to it .
The down side for me is that it does catch you a little by surprise when filling and could make elderly folk jump. The big gripe for me was the power surge , I bought it to use at work next to some chunky machinery and if turning it on whilst running it will trip the place out. Of course that’s the pay off for the speedy boiling but worth noting if your electrics are a bit olde
