Effective Water Filter – We need a filter as our natural water tastes bad. This is an effective and low cost method – does what it says on the package.
Bought for our one cup kettle. Easy to use and can definitely tell they are filtering the water well as we live in a hard water area and the kettle has minimal limescale on it.
I have replaced buying plastic bottled water with re-filling an insulated water bottle with the Brita filtered water. Much better for the environment and more convenient for me to have the water remain cold for hours in the bottle.
These are the standard Brita maxtra filters, that often unaccountably cost double this price, so if you run out and look for them in the shop, the skies the limit, no way are they worth double this price though.
Paid a good price for these filters and they fit perfectly in my brita filter (had a previous situation where filters I bought didn’t fit)
Decent price and does the job.
I’m a bit of a sad case and I’ve been conducting experiments over the past few months to see if the cheaper options were better or lasted longer than Brita and, turns out, Brita is best.
This filter does give the water it filters a noticeable but mild flavour to it and improves the quality of the filtered water significantly and the water I filtered helps one get over a hang over quicker then just drinking ordinary unfiltered tap water.
Good at cutting down the mineral and scale in hard water for kettles and coffee machines, visibly so in a glass kettle. I have tried drinking the filtered water from the jug but it is not for me. But great for brews.
Since things have become tight financially, I looked about for a generic filter rather than buy the Brita one. Big mistake. The cheaper ones don’t last the full month and the water doesn’t taste that much different to straight tap water. I’ve been using a fridge jug by Brita since I received one as a wedding present back in 1978. Although the jug has been replaced three times since, I will be returning to genuine Brita filters next time I buy.
I gotta say, the Brita Maxtra hits the mark when it comes to doing what it’s supposed to do.
I recently switched to this product from water bottles and it’s been great. I enjoy the taste of the water again. It is easy to set up and can be recycled, but unfortunately, not at home. It lasts for about a month, depending on fluid intake, but 6 litres a day isn’t easy to waste. The only improvement I would suggest is the ability to filter out fluoride. Overall, it does its job well, lasts long enough, and is convenient to use at a reasonable price if purchased in bulk.
Finally there’s no huge price difference (2-3) between the original and noname brands. Love it!
Would recommend to buy 12pack one as it will be cheaper.
Britta water filter cartridge , perfect for my water tank and jug.
I’ve been using these for a while an my kettle still looks clean prior to age
I live in a hard water area and these filters are a necessity if you want a nice cup of tea. Stops the kettle from ‘furring’ up and there’s no scum floating on top of your drink. You can taste the true flavour of your chosen beverage. A must have if you live in a hard water area and don’t settle for cheaper filters.
Water tastes better
Definitely would recommend. Especially if your tummy is sencitve or you have hard wate
Great for filtering the out the lime scale. The water is clear and perfect to use for tea.
So yeah pretty happy with the price
Works well though need to change at least every 2 weeks
So its expensive water filte
Used these a lot over the years and dont use the cheaper versions anymore, drinking lots of water with my diet so these are ideal to keep filling bottles up for work etc and highly recommend.
Have been using it for years because the water is quite hard in my area. This filter definitely softens the water and improves the taste.
I buy my Maxtra filters on Amazon because they are better value than buying in the supermarket and there are usually some options that reduce the price further. Filtered water reduces furring in the kettle, and we are in an area prone to that. I find that the filters last well and can be left for one week more in the filter jug than the indicator suggests.
Good product, although a little expensive, we live in a hard water area so these definitely help reduce timescale build up.
Not much to add, does the job as long it is IMPORTANTLY the UK Tea Academy version it will work, the German one
not as good for UK hard water, but ok for Germany since Germany has soft water.
My jug holds 2ltrs of filtered water so I tick it off on a calender every time I fill up. Otherwise the sensor which indicate to replacing the cartridge after 4 weeks of use, which may cause you to replace it too soon.
So it’s best to keep track!
These cartridges effectively maintain the clarity of my water, preventing the buildup of lime and eliminating the need for frequent kettle descaling. The delivery was swift, and the product matched the advertised description. Notably, it significantly enhances the taste of the water. While they may be slightly pricier, there are often enticing deals available on Amazon, making them a worthwhile investment.
If you have a Brita filter, I’m sure you’ve thought about purchasing non branded filters. As someone who has bought both non branded and Brita filters, I would 100% recommend the Brita filters. They produce a clean, smooth tasting water and are far far better than off brand ones.
The non brand filters are often really difficult to install and remove but the Brital filters release with ease.
Tried this for a few months by using a slow running tap on it with a glass underneath capturing the filtered water but it takes far too long and often and hour or more to get a kettles with out of it.
Bought a filter jug and now much quicker and more effective.
Do not think of this like a tea bag that you can squeeze to extract the liquid it is solid plastic and you can not squeeze it unless you are able to squeeze an uncut lemon and then you may have enough strength to be successful.
I live in an area with hard water and need to filter my water if I want to be able to have a cup of tea. I use these filters daily, I have one in a jug to filter tap water and then another in the kettle (which then filters the water from the jug – again the water is very hard in this area!) and it works fantastic, no limey taste and no thick film on the surface of the water. I’d say each filter lasts around a month so they get good use as I fill and refill the jug and kettle multiple times per day. Couldn’t go without them now!
