As a network contractor I often running across non-WiFi devices — receipt printers, TVs with broken WiFi adapters, etc. This device solves the problem. Installation is easy and Ethernet connection is stable. What the description doesn’t make clear is that this unit is also a WiFi extender and transmits its own WiFi signal. (I suspect it was originally a WiFi extender that added an Ethernet port.) Great, huh? Well, it could be but if you don’t want that capability, there’s no way to disable it. You’re just stuck with one more SSID floating out there. Not a huge problem but minus one star for lack of flexibility, especially in a commercial environment.
I purchased it for the cottage’s surveillance camera since I don’t want to run the wires everywhere, it is very stable and reliable. When the cottage get power outage, it reconnects to the internet once the power restored. Also, the customer service is so good, answers all my emails quickly. Thank you!
I have an issue with my ethernet cable running to an IP camera, and needed a quick workaround, and this WiFi Bridge worked perfectly! I simply connected it to my WiFi and then plugged the network port into a Power over Ethernet injector which supplies power to the camera.
The camera is on all the time, but it only records when triggered; however, I haven’t noticed any issues.
I am using an Eero 5 Wifi router with two wired WiFi nodes connected.
P.S. this unit can also be setup for Access Point mode, but it requires you plug a network cable in from the router.
I have an older LaserJet Pro M402dn printer that is direct ethernet connection only, and have been looking for a Wi-Fi printer server, and this definitely does the trick. A little dicey with setup and accessing the Web Interface, but got it working fine. A little confusing setting it up per the instructions, but did a scan with Advanced IP Scanner to locate the device and IP address. Now it works perfectly, and I was able to access the web interface to change the printer to a static IP address.
The adapter wifi to ethernet was just what I needed to place a NVR in a location that had not ethernet cable connection and I did not want to run any additional cables.
The setup was very easy and my router found it perfectly. I was up running in less than 10 minutes.
I can now access the NVR and stream to my phone without any lag in Video.
The product is compact and hide away.
The blue light tells me it’s working.
Good purchase from my end
I only received this yesterday but so far, so good. I bought it to use with Starlink to connect to my doorbell camera. Initially I was very confused by the instructions, but as another review stated, you need to set this up using an already connected device and then you can connect to the new device. I used my phone to connect and then was able to plug the ethernet cable into the product and it worked for the doorbell. Prior to figuring this out, I had reached out to the seller for help and they answered quite quickly. Customer service is great!
I purchased a Sonos (fancy audio streaming device) for my wife years ago. She loved it so much that she bought two more! Later, I upgraded our mesh to WiFi6 without realizing that the Sonos devices only supported WiFi 2.4. I bought one bridge to plug one Sonos into to try it out. It worked so well, that I repurposed it for improving the video quality of one of my Nest cameras. I bought this bridge to get the Sonos back online, too. They great thing about this device is that, out of the box, it is configured for wireless setup. You don’t need to plug it into a computer to configure your wifi settings. It helps to be mildly technical regarding how wifi works, but you don’t need to be a computer nerd to set this up.
I love this product, you don’t need any cabling or long Lan cables. I 7se this on my router and security camera system. Al my cameras is HD and the speed of this unit is fast and works well with my starlink satellite installing. You can use the wireless unit wit any equipment that works on a Lan connection. No drilling holes or installation of Lan cable in the roof or anything, 5 seconds to install and you ready to go. Another plus is that you can use it as a wifi repeater in the house if you signal is weak or you need a stronger signal somewhere ells in the yard, plug and play.
Works as expected, but only allows one product at a time to be connected reliably.
For my simple needs, it met my expectations. The signal is good and set up is easy.
My Wi-Fi is downstairs my computer is upstairs so now I can use my computer with Wi-Fi and a good strong signal recommend to anybody
The build quality is good and it’s user interface is great and is easy to understand. However it has problem connecting to my iPhone 13 hotspot. It extended successfully but after that it persistently failed to connect with the iPhone Hotspot Wifi which is my main purpose for using the device. I tried many times and alternatives and ran out of options what else to try to make it work! If your purpose is to extend with your home Wifi it works great! I had to return it for a different brand with four antenna AC-1200Mbps Dual-band Wireless Repeater and that works great with my iPhone Hotspot Wifi.
We have a solar array with Envoy microinverters. I’ve never been able to read/see all the panels when its Envoy Communications Gateway is plugged in at the house (all plugs tested),.Only if plugged into the array can we see everything, but never “online”.
We recently upgraded to Fibe and an Orbi MESH WiFi (Awesome WiFi). We put this BrosTrend adapter on the array with great success, some 130 feet (44 yards/40 meters) away. That this adapter is 20-25 feet up in the air likely helps. VERY easy setup, low power (<5W) draw, and of course awesome wide area WiFi now outside (@2.4 ghz with >30mbs up/down).
Router Synch, then adapter WPS linked the adapter instantly! Also, I was impressed the adapter asked for the WiFi password before allowing my phone’s WiFi access, even though my phone was already on the network. It is nice when things just work, and beyond expectations.
By default this device is set as an extender. Easy to setup and even inside a cubinet the signal is good. The rj45 port allows, as it is the primary role, to connect devices that do not have wifi. If using rj45 then do not connect more than 2 devices to the wifi extender as this slows down and best you get is 8Mbps. Highly recommended buy.
Works Wi-Fi struggled to cover 2 rooms away. Installed next door and that reached my phone at end of corridor: several rooms further.
Installed at home. Took to work. Obviously needed reinstalling. Bought home. Needed reinstalling again. Don’t move it too often.
My colleague liked it and may buy one to extend Wi-Fi to his garage/ workshop.
That’s the IP address you’re looking for to connect to the internal Web server for setup. It’s a piece of cake if you know DHCP or IP/netmask/gateway/DNS.
I’m running an HP LaserJet 1606, and evidently HP didn’t design their Ethernet or IP stacks to tolerate a dropped packet or two. I don’t know what TCP over CS MA/CD protocols they were implementing, but they’re not the ones I learned.
Plugged this puppy in, configured it, sent a test page, and nearly spat out my coffee when the printer spit out the page immediately.
I’m running DHCP assigning a fixed IP address to both the printer and the BrosTrend box. The BrosTrend has nothing to do with how the IP address is assigned to the printer.
Kinda reminds me of when I found a Wi-fi to parallel port converter to keep my LaserJet 4MP going for another 10 years…
I’m still running an HP LJ 4050 from the late 1990s. It’s a tank and I have enough toner cartridges to last the rest of my life. I am confident the printer will, as well. Unfortunately, it has no wireless capability. This was okay until I moved to a small apartment where I had to drag an ethernet cable across the floor every time I wanted to print. This device has solved that.
The one slight negative is that the documentation doesn’t make it exactly crystal clear just which mode is the WiFi extender and which is wireless-to-ethernet only. I’d also like to see an interface to shut down the WiFi extension part. I don’t need it and it just clutters the airwaves and wastes energy to have it on.
The other note I want to make is about the IP management. Because of the way the docs were written I was afraid that my fixed IP on the printer wouldn’t work for some reason, that the device would try to NAT it or something weird if I didn’t do a DHCP IP (which wouldn’t work for me for reasons I won’t get into). But those fears were unfounded: the printer printed a test page first time with its fixed IP. No problem.
Good product. Make the features more controllable and the setup cleaner and clearer and it will be perfect.
Used to give Ethernet Lan to LG smart TV that WIFI has stopped working.
Very easy to set up with WPS, took just a few minutes.
I had recently up graded my Internet to the new Verizion 5G home internet from the cable company. For what ever reason the Samsung TV’s would see the new internet source, but would not connect! Listen when I tell you the frustration doing the software up dates, reseting the TV’s, changing the WIFI names, spending countless hours with Verizon Tech support accomplished absolutely nothing. Verizon said at this point you have two options, one replace your TV”s or run a ethernet cable from the router to the TV”s. Nether option was good! I said there’s no! way I am replacing TV’s or running hard wire!
So I thought I would share my solution to the problemI told the Verizon Tech on the phone what I was doing they are going to follow up to see If my Idea actually works tomorrow They have what is called a WI-FI internet bridge it was the only viable option and works beautiful! From the time I opened the box until I had a solid simulated wired connection was 10 mins! Just wish I had know this before going through the Verizon torcher chamber! I am sure those of you reading this are relieved to hear there is an answer to this problem! Here is the link to the one I bought. I am not getting paid or doing this as a paid review its just an honest opinion on my experience and that this product works well! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093GZLKPH/ref=tsm_1_tp_tc
I bought two of these babies to control my CCTV and intruder alarm network link. Set up takes just a couple of minutes then just plug it in, brilliant. The technical back up was great, too. More than happy to help. Very pleased.
Easy to use and set up. Works well. Very happy
Bought this so I didn’t have to run a Ethernet cable across my room to my CCTV dvr from my router
I just plugged this into a socked beside my dvr and connect a small Ethernet from dvr to this. Job done !!
Excellent signal, easy to connect to WiFi via wps button.
My LG tv lost WiFi for some reason only Ethernet works, new TV location was not close to the router so this did just the job. The best part is it plugs into the wall for power.
Using this device to test computers where no cable is feasible. It runs warm but works well even at a 40% signal. There is no provision to manually enter a hidden Wi-Fi network name (SSID not broadcasting). A network connection can only be made to Wi-Fi signals that it lists. However once a connection is established it will reconnect to the SSID even if it is hidden.
