What are the benefits of high yield toner cartridges over standard yield toner cartridges?

How long will my toner cartridge last once open and installed in my printer?
The toner cartridge shelf life is 2 years if the protective bag is unopened or 6 months after the protective bag is opened.

Brother recommends that customers use only genuine Brother toner cartridges. Each printer is designed to work at pre-set temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner formulations which non-genuine supplies may not do.

No issues with being ‘recognized’ like some toner cartridges. All works fine.
When looking at original toner, this high yield cartridge represents excellent value: at time of writing less than twice the price for three times the yield of a standard cartridge. Print quality is consistently high, and a new cartridge is immediately recognised. Expensive compared to compatible offerings. However, these cartridges are chipped and it can be quite hard to get a printer that’s looking for an original chip to acknowledge a different cartridge: a process that often requires multiple precisely-timed button presses and a somewhat fiddly reset process. I’m happy that this represents a good saving Vs the TN243 size, is easy to install, and gives high quality results
Since I wrote this, Brother have replaced the cartridge and, this time all is OK – it is working fine
I brought the cheaper generic toners and the quality is just no where near the same as the originals!
I brought these and the quality of my printing is perfect, the colour tones are exactly as they should be.

Product arrived a couple of days early but as I was getting low on ink it was appreciated. Works well with the printer and very easy to install. Good product and company all round
I don’t use a lot of colour so this pack is good value and, apart from the Black Cartridge, lasts about 3 or 4 months. In between I usually have to buy the extra high capacity Black Cartridge. Quality of the documents is excellent with no colour runs or fuzziness.
