A premium BT product in high-quality plastic. Works perfectly as you’d expect for a BT product and will last for many years. I wall-mounted mine – very easy with the slotted holes on the back.
With 3 ring setting
Good build quality
Also bearable, but not good if you are hearing impaired
Has not let me/us dow
BT build quality and performance, cant beat it in my opinion.
Most home now have walkabout rechargeable type phones that rely of communications via the base unit that is connected to the mains and BT line. When the mains fails, the walkabout phone will not work. This is when the trusty BT phone comes into play and works as it only needs power from the telephone line.
Get one for emergency’s!
For those who don’t understand, this is a non mobile phone. You plug the wire into a socket, you press the numbers and then if you are really lucky you will hear a voice that is not your own. Use it to order a take away when you forget this is the year 2023
It isn’t dependent on mains supply, so will continue to work during a power-cut.
Bought because our cordless phones don’t work in a power cut and we have no mobile signal. This phone just plugs into the BT socket and gives a dialing tone. Needs no batteries or electricity. Recent storms meant we used it to find out about the power cut (dialed 105) but more importantly, we could phone 999 in an emergency. A small price to pay for peace of mind. Only downside is that it’s a little quiet so only 4 stars for sound quality.
The reason why i gave 4 stars is because for Ireland you need to buy additional connector as the phone is made for the UK market.
These phone looks unobtrusive and sit nicely on the bedside table. The main problem I have is that there is one line from the socket through the base to the receiver and that line isn’t ‘that’ long. I have the phone socket one side of the double bed and would prefer the phone on the other side of the double bed, but the line isn’t long enough to reach. I can’t use my old line as this one is integral to the curly bit at the receiver end. The other slight issue is that the receiver can easily be knocked slightly off the base unit.
