We had a lot of fun with this on Xmas Day and it’s perfect to get the kids working together rather than competing against each other. The only slight issue is that a lot of the questions are US based so I did have to pick through them a bit for my 9 years olds rather than reading from the same card on their turn. I would say it is most suitable for kids age 9+ as some questions are quite tricky.
Like the fact it brings all ages together.even the little ones, who cant play enjoy the fact everyone is togetherand benifit from the togetherness
We played this with our daughter and grandson, and it started out well. However, our grandson, who is almost 7 years old, soon tired of it. I would suggest slightly older children might enjoy it more.
I’m a bit torn about this game but love the concept. It is a great way to interact as a family and is very fun and challenging for all involved. It will certainly get you talking and everyone’s competitive spirit will come out to see who wins or loses the wager. It can be played with 2- 6 players and though more players makes it interesting, this can just as easily be a parent vs child game with some fantastic opportunities for some communication and bonding for all – not just parents!
The biggest niggle for me is that some of these questions are quite challenging and though that is the nature of the game, if playing with younger members of the family, this may cause some issues. It does however increase your knowledge and could, in theory be more personalised depending on what you want to achieve with the game.
Overall a unique and fun game with some challenge that will take some thought and head scratching – great for some fun family time.
This game is a lot of fun for both parents and kids too. It can be played by up to 6 people and would only recommend for children over 9–10-year-old as this require knowledge of reading. Box contained the gameboard, 200 cards, two payer figure and a wager board with a stand and a marker.
The card has different questions and challenges for kids and adults written in English. I must say the parent’s questions seem a lot harder but fair enough ;). Parents are asked questions that the kids would be more likely to know, and the kids are asked questions the parents are more likely to know. We play with our 8- and 10-year-old, it is so much fun and it’s always a laugh!
Highly recommended for all fun-loving families who enjoy a good game night. The only issue is when you go through all the cards, you’ll have to pass it on as it becomes boring after you know all the questions. It would be nice to be able to purchase extra cards as an add-on.
This is a great game with wagers that will either work for or against the Parents! It’s children versus the Parents. The children decide what they want to win should they win (within reason!) and we decide what we want the children to do should we win. For our first game, the children wanted to stay up late to watch a film that night and we wanted them to tidy their room straight after the game – you make a mutual agreement and whoever wins gets their wish!
The game is fun, there’s questions for the parents and questions for the children. The children’s questions are things they’re likely to know on characters from children’s shows etc and more and for Parents they are obviously harder and some are things i’ve never actually heard of but it seems a pretty even split on whether children or us have won!
A really fun and competitive game – great for teamwork, it’s fun to see the children really working together to try to get answers right! Recommended.
Saturday night is always family game night but having children of different ages we need to find games that we can all play so this game wasn’t idea until the little ones went to bed.
My 2 older ones loved the name of the game straight away “Beat the parents” with a retail price of 14.99 I would say it’s quite reasonable.
Some of the Wagers were quite interesting but we had to say No Way to some.
A trivia game with questions for the kids and adults some are easy and some are impossible but we had a great time playing this game.
A 2+ player game from 6 +, from the Spin Master brand which has never let us down in this house.
Includes 200 trivia & challenges cards which will last a few different games without you knowing the answers, a game board, sand timer, player pieces, dry white bird marker (this wasn’t that good so we replaced with one we had at home), instructions and the most important wager board with stand.
Good quality and a real older family game.
This is great game for our competitive family. You receive game board, pieces, and challenge and question cards. If playing game each side will write wager and then answer questions to move along board there are challenge squares on board that require you to take challenge card and complete to move on.We haven’t actually played game but will definitely do in future at family get togethers but we have had several quiz nights using question cards with my teenage daughter and we had loads fun. Each question card has 3 parent questions and 3 child questions and some of them are quite difficult. It’s says game is for age 8 and over but I think a lot of questions be too challenging for most 8yr olds.Good fun family game though and good value for laughs and quality family time already given us.Recommended
A game of wager for the family.
The game is for eight years and up, the questions reflect this and some of them can be quite challenging, for both adults and children ( unfortunately no hints are given, but if you are feeling kind you can always offer your own hints for the kids).
We enjoyed playing this and it was fun, pretty easy to master the rules and the kids liked winning actual real life treats that will occur after the game.
The game parts are good quality and will last many, many games.
Great way to teach kids that gambling can be dangerous.
Also is a very effective way of getting them to do things they wouldn’t normally agree to.
Our house has never been cleaner or quieter.
So maybe we are a little too competitive but they’ve gotta learn some how
