Love this bbq with the ability to start on gas then change to coal. The only downside is it has to be one or the other. You can’t have both unlike other hybrids

Easy to put together and a joy to use. If well looked after it will last a long time.

The regulator didn’t work with a patio gas bottle, but I got a such a bargain I didn’t mind buying a separate one.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGot this with the cover package. Took 3 hrs on my own to put together, I’m no d.i.y er. Brilliant , use a dust sheet on the lawn, tool needed screwdriver adjustable spanner. Used big k charcoal ready in 15minns. Best bbq we have had. Take your time putting together. Put a couple of videos . Good quality, sturdy easy to use. Very easy to clean. When cold,Soaked grills in tub hot soppy water, took out charcoal tin and tipped into bin and with a soft brush just gave it a brush. Used hot soppy water and soft cloth to wipe down bbq. Easy. Cleaning my oven is harder. Would highly recommend this bbq. You get the charcoal flavour on the meat. And I can use the solid plate I kept from our old bbq, to do egg and bacon butty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gas to coal bbq, excellent product. Would highly recommend

    Looks really good
    Sturdy
    Love the gas/charcoal combo
    Decent price/value
    Neg:
Assembly is a bit tricky but do-able (really need focus)
Why have the gas hoze underneath the extra fire beaken when the instructions say to keep the gas away from it
There is some storage space, but no doors to access it from the front. Makes it difficult to install bbq near to a wall ( you’ll lose access to the backside storage.
You have to order extra pins to hang your utensils
My connector did not connect to the propane bottle – I checked with the gas seller and the connector is the right one for the bottle. Wasn’t able to click it into place 🙁

Great BBQ this used the plate to put charcoal on then lit the gas to heat the coals no faffing with firelighters just turned it on left it and boom white coals ready to cook and the flavour of a wood BBQ on a gas supply. 5stars.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIts a brilliant Barbecue – love the fact you can use gas and coals. But after reading the reviews definitely pay for the assembly – it does take a while like the previous review nearly three hours. The instructions once you have read twice are clear but it does take time. Its a very well built barbecue and when your putting this together the craftmanship is excellent – all the screws are coated and line up (simple things but great when it works) We are so glad we got this and once up and working very easy to use and clean, so a happy summer and winter ahead.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI was toying between the 3 and 4 burner options as the 4 looks more of a substantial beast but I couldn’t justify the extra 200 between models, so glad I settled with the 3 burner as it is still a beast of a BBQ. Good cooking height for a 6ft person, no stooping. The BBQ ignites easily and cooking is easy, first go went gas for some chicken then slid in the charcoal tray for the steak . Assembly on my own took about 2hrs, easy if you have space in the garden to lay everything out and take your time. Having another BBQ tonight… loving life, sun and cooking outdoors

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersYes, you have to put this together but it’s easy. Really good BBQ. I like the dual fuel aspect. Can use gas for a quick BBQ for the family or coals for a few people. Very good quality.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersVery good quality grill, with the innovation of making it easy to switch between gas or coal (and it really is easy). The amazon service of delivery and assemble was seamless. I read reviews that it could take 2-4 hours for someone to do this and it should really be done by two people. The value for money of the amazon service is outstanding compared to other suppliers. The chaps who delivered it put it together and took away all the packaging. Fantastic time saver for me!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersJust taken delivery and have just finished constructing – took me about three hours.
If you study the instructions very closely then you shouldn’t have a problem – I didn’t make a single mistake, which is unusual for me!
Once constructed you realise that this is a solid and quality bit of kit – really well packaged. I was a bit concerned that on the side of the box a square panel had been cut to make a flap, and then Sellotaped back again, as if someone took something out or added something. I needn’t have worried – everything was included, including the standard gas regulator that fits on to the likes of a patio gas propane bottle – of which I have a few.
When trying to fit the gas tubes onto the connections, I found that putting the ends into boiling water for a few minutes really helped pushing them on.
So I really can’t fault it – the best BBQ I’ve owned, and I’ve owned a few.

I’m not the most adept at using charcoal, I have a Webber kettle BBQ, but too much faff. I have used this mainly in charcoal mode. It is so easy, and if you get your timing or temperature wrong, then light it up again. None of these are easy to clean, but this is not bad. you can buy a number of accessories, which improve its versatility. I used to have the gas Infra-red, by the same brand, left out in the open, uncovered, never had any issues in 4 years. This one will be looked after a lot better.

his is a great bbq and well worth the money, easy to assemble as long as you have the know-how to put it together. instructions where easy to follow and took about and hour to put together need 2 people to put bbq on top of stand in assembling it to the stand safely. used a couple of time and is a great piece of kit for the garden and garden parties. I done my research and looked at other bbq and this one in my opinion was the best for maintaining and cleaning, bought a cover for it straight away so doesn’t get weather damaged.cooks really well and has a even distribution of heat throughout bbq and cooks thing at a good temperature, flare up are still there but not as bad as some other bbq’s, also has a good cooking area and for keeping food warm as well.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI opted for the BBQ to be built on delivery so cannot comment how it is to build. Two men built it in just less than a couple of hours. Looks amazing and very sturdy.

I did take time to look at the assembly book, it didn’t look very clear to me. Having looked at many Char-Broil YouTube videos, I was trying to find out if you need to remove the 3 silver gas covers before you place in the coal tray. I’ve seen videos that have them remain inside whilst I’ve seen others which have them removed first. The book suggests they should be removed, again its not clear. I decided to leave them in because they protect the gas burners and I want to keep it as clean as possible, this method worked fine, placed a flat layer of coal and lit the gas, it was really hot and smokey in less than a few minutes, turned the gas off and started to cook the food. Please could somebody kindly reply if you know if the silver gas plates should be removed when using the coal tray. Thanks in advance.

The heat seemed evenly spread, I made use of all the BBQ cooking space, all the food was cooked exactly the same so no cool spots, it tasted lovely, smokey and the smell was amazing.

Behind the BBQ there’s a sign that states not to store your gas bottle on the shelf under the BBQ. I have a big bottle that won’t fit anyway, would be nice to have it out of the way but that’s no big deal.

Easy to wheel to my garage at the end of summer. The Char-Broil protective cover for this model is a bit expensive, but probably worth getting it to save the elements ruining the BBQ.

We also used it without the coal tray just using just gas and we regret it, food was still cooked even and tasted amazing, Its very awkward to clean the base. It does a good job of draining the grease into a grease cup, there’s no getting away from the thick burnt oil that burns onto your base. I would therefore recommend always using the coal tray if you like to keep it clean.

Overal I’m happy with my BBQ, food tastes lovely and very easy to get going. If I could change anything, it would be much better to have a base tray that you can slide out periodically to make cleaning easier. Great BBQ all the same for the price, looks nice and would recommend.

Note this version did not come with the bottle opener I’ve seen on other 3 burner models.

Amazing bbq, very good build quality, easy to switch from gas to charcoal and the cast iron grates cook the food that little bit better than standard grills. Absolutely love being able to use the gas to light the coals or just use gas if I can’t be bothered with coal! Highly recommend!!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersArrived extremely well packed without any sign of damage. Once taken out of the box you will never get it back (worth noting). It took me 4 hours !! There are over 60 pieces although the main burn box and lid are pre-assembled (and heavy). This barbecue is substantially built. Working from pictorial instructions only is a practised art, you must observe where screw holes are placed, the pictorial views are precise. No real problems assembling apart from the middle section of the front cover which was slightly distorted along one edge. Yes, those who have noticed the bottom panel is upside down but this was necessary to hide the distortion which would have made the joint of the middle panel unacceptable. THE CAST IRON GRIDDLES ARE NOT PORCELAIN COATED, THEY ARE RAW CAST IRON. This disappointed me but as I say, once out of the box you have little option. Amazon please amend your description?? (I doubt they will read this). In general no great problems with assembly, it isn’t difficult. I have now used this BBQ on gas only and found it good to use. Would I recommend this BBQ? Yes, in my opinion it is well made for the price. In fact for the price I think it is excellent value. A shame about the GRIDDLES NOT BEING PORCELAIN COATED AS DESCRIBED and a shame there wasn’t a tool to lift the griddles included. All in all I’m pleased.

Sturdy build, flexible outdoor cooking. Best of both worlds, neither of which is a compromise. Highly recommended. Takes a couple of hours to put together. Better than a Weber IMO, looks great.

It’s a great product. The box is incredibly heavy needing at least 2 people to carry. Assembly is straight forward but takes a while to work out the pieces, some are labelled, others not. Make sure there is space to unpack and assemble. It all goes together within a couple of hours, just take it slow and steady and check against the instructions. I managed this on my own but it would have been useful to have someone else to lift and position heavier / larger components. Once done, it’s easy to move around on the wheeled trolley.

Best of both worlds , if you like the taste of charcoal, and easy to clean ! Bit of a two person assembly task ! But take your time it’s worth it ?? No more fire lighters and go juice Brilliant !!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI couldn’t believe how many pieces there were to assemble. Other reviewers said it took them 2 hours but it took me double that time. Overall I am happy with the product and would recommend however I do believe there is a design fault in that there is no easy way to clean below the burners where bits of burnt food accumulates. Other bbq’s have a tray which slides out. This bbq requires the grates to be taken off then the burner covers before you can access and awkwardly clean out.
The side burner where you can add a hot plate (cost extra) is well worth it.

You get what you pay for. A sturdy, robust frame. Manufactured from quality materials and a showroom finish. All components are clearly marked so assembly is less fraught. Even the screws, nuts and bolts come in their own sealed and marked packaging. Irritating that the courier left the BBQ in their warehouse for a week before delivering.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis is a great BBQ. Does both gas or charcoal. I like having the option. Took about 2 hours to build. Instructions were very clear and their is an App that you can use as well for construction. The only negative I have is that it was supposed to be the model 2.0 but I received the original. Not a deal breaker as I have plenty of bottle openers! The temperature guage is a useful addition. The electronic starter is a bit temperamental, you have to fiddle with it a bit but it does work. Light the central gas first then the outside ones. A recommendation for the manufacturers is to be able to open the bottom panels, for easy access for storage. I have to pull the BBQ out to put charcoal etc in.
Overall I’m very happy with it. It is very sturdy and worth the money

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI wanted dual fuel as I prefer coal cooking, however the time abs mess somethings puts me off so with this I have a choice. All other dual fuel seemed to be half/half grill space so not good if cooking for larger groups. This looks great, it’s a bit bigger then I was expecting and would prefer it if the sides folded down to save space however it looks great! It was a little fiddley to put together, I managed it on my own in a couple of hours. Some parts were harder to fit and it felt like things might of been out of line but eventually got there. Would recommend.

Only the grill comes pre built…this takes a long time to assemble I’d you’re doing it on your own like I did..& I’m technical!…but it’s so worth it…used it almost every night coz I’m a BBQ junkie…easy to clean…I still haven’t put the burner covers in yet coz I love the BBQ tray
