Great fun and suitable for a wide age range. Playing as two teams, rather than as individuals, takes the pressure off and makes this fun for everyone

Really good fun game. It’s so simple but can be hard. E.G. name 10 things that are Orange. You have 1 minute. If the answer is on the question card you get a point. Points from each round are you moves on the game Baird. 1st te to the finish wins.

Lots of fun, everyone can join in.

I’ve played this with family, groups of students and every age from 10 years old has really enjoyed the game. With my Uni friends we made it a drinking game. I’m starting to get concerned that I’m remembering answers too well, so I wish there were more cards.

Played this on Christmas day with five people and it was fun, less arguing than individual quizzes we usually do, as Tension is in 2 teams and take turns. It was so good my daughter decided to ‘borrow ‘ it – doubt I will ever see it again:)
We also played it at another family get together with 12 people and everyone really enjoyed the game. Good fun.

This game was an easy teach and fun to play over Christmas and on many other social occasions. It breaks down easily for travel in a bag but the box is too big for easy travel. The categories were fun, fresh, and relevant to all ages so no-one felt excluded or unable to contribute. Will definitely be using this agai

Came well packaged, good quality and with well written rules. We played with 10 people (adults and kids) and had a few laughs, it’s quite hard to keep up with everyone shouting answers at the same time (that’s where the tension comes in). Some of the answers were a bit ridiculous (nobody was gonna get them) but luckily there are loads of cards to choose from. Overall it’s a decent little game and it lasts a while, we ended up paying a lot longer than expected.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent game! No complicated rules which means you can start playing really quickly. There are a variety of categories to suit different ages and interests. Probably best played in mixed age teams. When our family of 3 play, our 14 year old daughter plays on both sides so we have a range of age related knowledge on both sides . We played this on Christmas Day wit a range of ages — 14, 22, 42, 51,65. You could also play with just two players. I love the all round appeal of this game- one of the best games I’ve bought.

A Great family game, we played it for hours, it’s so addictive. A race against the 60 second clock to give the top ten answers to a question. Tension is basically “Tenable” but on a timer. The egg timer is the only downside of this great game, everyone is thinking fast, and having fun, someone always forgets to watch the timer. So to combat that issue we used the electronic 60 second buzzer from “Don’t Say It”, another great game. Tension will keep you amused for literally hours. “Buy It, Play It, You’ll Love It”.

I absolutely adore this game, and so does everyone I else I have introduced it to. I have enjoyed it whilst playing against one other person, and playing in teams. There are a lot of cards, so you can play it several times without coming across the same card. Playing the game is relatively quick, especially when compared to other common board games, so you probably fit in 2 rounds in an hour. It is really fun and makes you laugh. Some categories could arguably be answered by children, but overall I think its more suited to teens/adults. I couldn’t recommend it enough

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis game is a lot of fun, you get an egg timer and a game board with 4 lots of game cards. The cards are also double sided so you can have a lot of games.

There are many different ways to play this game, we’ve played with the egg timer, without it, with the game board and without it.

The great thing about the game is it really gets you thinking, not all the questions / answers are as obvious as you think!

The little hand held device that comes with it is perfect also for checking off and keeping score.

It’s also important to point out that the questions don’t mean there are only 10 answers, there could be hundreds of answers per questions. The key is to think of the more obvious ones and simply see how many you can match to the list.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA really good game with a wide variety of questions
I like the way that there is a more child friendly set of cards as well so it covers all age groups.
You can play this on your own if you want to sharpen up your mind by inserting the card into a cardboard sleeve which I made so that you don’t see the answers and then just go by the heading
This could be incorporated into the game like in Don’t say it .
For travelling you could just put the card packs in a bag if you didn’t have room for the box

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersGreat game. I ordered it for Christmas Day. There was only my Father who is 90 and myself 56 playing it. It’s better if you have teams. However there are real plus points. You get orange and purple cards. Orange being easier for younger players (we chose that option lol) purple being for older minds.

Great fun would recommend this for New Year partying or any family get together or for college kids or younger players. Even oldies like us had fun. Comes with a timer and score board if you manage to name all ten within the catagory. Some questions are a bit Americanised (I lived in New York for 16 years) however you can pick cards that are UK friendly and known to us one example “name 10 Harry Potter characters)

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersThis game has been BRILLIANT!
Over the festive break, my family and I were stranded on the side of a motorway after our car broke down and THIS game saved the day.

Instead of sitting, sullenly in the car waiting for the pick-up truck, we played Tension.
But we didn’t just play it once.

This game can be played with adult or children cards – and we played with both! We found that the children’s cards were actually HARDER than the adult cards e.g. ‘Name 10 Spongebob Characters’. Having watched Spongebob a grand total of once, it made for some hilarious answers.

It’s called Tension for a reason as the game became pretty heated. Answers get shouted left right and centre, especially if you’re working in teams. The answer ‘Lighter Fuel’ was written as ‘Lighter Fluid’ on the card – could that be accepted?!

I would definitely recommend this game for anyone looking for a family-friendly, fun board game.
The cards will probably give you around 7-10 games without repetition. Once we’re through all of the cards, we have plans to write our own Tension cards to keep the game going!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a great version of the Tension Zany Crazy version which we have owned and played for several years now. The Family Edition of Tension is a little simpler in the variety of questions and topics included and perfect for playing from a much larger age group of people. The answers are this bit more logical and less abstract and therefore easier to think of by younger players.

The game is very well presented and comes with a very handy plastic device that allows for quick and precise scoring- a definite improvement on the paper charts and pencil included in the older version. I bought this game to play over the Christmas holidays with the family and having tried it, it certainly fulfils its purpose as a family board game that will be fun to play by anyone from young kids to elderly relatives.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersWe have a tradition of getting together with family and playing board games on Xmas Eve but have largely been playing the same few games for years. We have tried new games but they have never quite made the grade due to being too complicated, too difficult for some of the family or too hard to play once we have had a drink or two 😉

We bought this and after creating a simplified version of the rules (girls vs boys, ignore bonus squares, one square per right answer first to the middle wins) we had a ball. We ended up playing this for over two hours including drinks breaks and banter but it kept its appeal because it is so simple in its premise.

The categories are all the kind of thing you think you should be able to ace but there’s always one or two obvious answers you forget/overlook.

Very simple, very good fun, very accessible, always feel like you’re in with a shot – the perfect ingredients for a good family game.
