I’ve had this product before. It’s easy to use and the results are good. I went for a lighter shade this time- my hair is naturally quite dark but going grey. I like the result but it did come out a bit more auburn than I expected.
Good value for money.
I like this brand, mix it up a bit with a highlighting cap and also use it for root touch ups. I find it easy to use and not damaging on my fine hair. I’ve used it for years.
It is very easy to use, doesnt stain the skin too much, not too drippy but easy to spread. Color shows up nicely.
Nothing special, its a hair dye! But came out more gingery than shows on box despite following instructions and matching it to ny hair colou
Nice hair colouralways buy the same as looks good , good seller , good price,
Would recommend.
It’s a lovely colour, but it’s a rich chocolate brown. It’s darker than the light brown nice & easy dye. However, I like the colour on me. Easy to use. Love the conditioner. Covers the few grey I have. Would buy again if I want to stay dark.
(Hopefully it won’t fade brassy)
Works really well on dark blonde hair. No nasty smell and scalp didn’t itch. Came out light natural ash. Lovely.
Works well, covers greys. Smells nice, leaves hair soft and glossy. Definitely recommended
Like the colour but have now decided to embrace my grey…..if i change my mind i will reorder from them again as reliable.
Excellent coverage but if you have long hair like me I have to use 2
I started having highlights just before lockdown. I spoke to my mobile hairdresser who recommended a couple of products so that I could maintain and touch up my highlights myself during lockdown. I was happy to experiment especially as I was using a highlighting cap. Although, I don’t think I would have had the confidence to use foils as they are much more fiddly. I have continued to dye my hair at home ever since, as it is much cheaper and I am completely happy with the results. On occasions my base colour and highlights need a boost. Therefore, I use ‘off the counter’ shop dyes. Some of these dyes (despite the colour that is illustrated on the packaging) prove to be far too dark once applied. However, this colour SB1 maintained the blonde highlights, got rid of any grey and left my hair with a lovely shine. My hair is soft and feels well conditioned. This dye will be my go to from now on. I am very happy with the result.
I love this hair dye , its doesnt have a harsh smell like some dyes do. It’s easy to use and covers your grey perfectly. I would highly recommend.
After reading reviews I was very sceptical about getting this actual colour! Some were saying there hair went red some saying this isn’t an ash based, colour it is.
Ladies it’s best to learn the colour wheel before experimenting with box does especially after bleach! If you hair has a natural warm undertone you need to counteract it by using a cool undertone,
My hair was a golden brassy colour after bleach my hair is now ash blonde with silver/grey/ dark blonde hair, although my roots where not touched with bleach so the actual die has bought a more golden tint to my roots however this was my fault when processing (as my natural hair is almost blck) It’s darker then the packet but has gotten rid of all golden brassy undertones in a few weeks once the colour has been washed more I’ll then use a light ash as all golden brassy hair has been covered! Overall very happy and trust me make sure you understand the colour wheel before spontaneously doing your hair!
Ok so when I was a kid my hair was natural blonde. As I got older it darkened until at the age of 55 it was light brown with grey dotted around. I wanted something near my own colour to cover the grey. Oh vanity! I chose light golden brown. My daughter applied the 2 boxes (I have a lot of hair down to my mid back) easily and I sat. Not a massive smell and no skin reaction. I did use lipsel lip balm stick along my hairline and ears. Bit easier than vaseline and we had non anyway worked well.
Rinsed off after 30 mins, conditioned (great conditioner included) and waited the 6 hours it takes my hair to dry naturally.
Wow. No greys. I look in the mirror at my DEEP AUBURN hair shining in all its reddy tones Vanity, thy name is woman!
Pros:
* Really easy to use – both the mixing of the components and the application of the dye.
* Comes with gloves and a small bottle of conditioner to help keep the colour.
* Colour always comes out looking the same as on the box
* Not sure exactly how long the colour lasts, but I would definitely say more than a month
* There’s a small tear-off section of the box with the name and number of the dye, so you can keep it and buy the same colour again next time
Cons:
* The size and quality of the gloves is sometimes different. Always useable but sometimes they’re quite small and tight.
* I’ve found the ‘hair dye smell’ lingers on my hair for at least 1 week after application, and that smell sometimes transfers over to pillows. It’s not a particularly bad smell, and it washes out of furnishings easy, but if anyone were to smell my hair during that week they’d be able to tell that I dyed it!
I hate dying my own hair but I needed to get rid of some greys for a wedding. I wasn’t looking for a drastic change – just for an all over colour that would cover old dye that has lightened my hair. As I have dark brown hair I was skeptical if the auburn would work but overall I was really pleased with the outcome as it’s given me a lovely natural all over colour.
The dye itself was pretty simple to use and left my hair in great condition. A really good quality dye that’s excellent value for money so very happy that I chose this one. The scent was pleasant too.
If you’re looking for a quality brand that’s excellent value for money then this is it.
Love this hair colour I always use it, covers grey and gives a lovely shine to your hair I’m 56 have been using this for years . Find it hard sometimes to get this colour so very happy I seen it on amazon . I bought 4 ha ha.
I’ve never coloured my hair with a permanent box dye before because I usually go to get my roots done at the hairdressers every month but being in pandemic lock down and having over an inch of fairly dark root, which depressed me every time I looked in the mirror, I plucked up the courage to buy Clairol nice and easy SB2 blonde (after much research about which colour to go for). My hairdresser uses a level 9 on my hair and said she thought box dyes were usually a couple of shades lighter so I hoped this would lift my dark roots enought to blend in. My worst nightmare was being left with orange/ginger roots which would not be a good look. So, after roping in my reluctant hubbie to help do the back I set to and started. It was really easy to mix (just the tube of colour into the other bottle), give a good shake and away you go! Instructions said to start timing when application commences. I did the top and sides first then shouted my husband to do the back. He didn’t like the smell, which was probably due to being confined int the bathroom, so put a respirator mask on which tickled me no end! Actually the smell wasn’t bad at all so he probably had a sensitive nose lol. My hairdresser said to put on roots and then rub through to the ends for the last 10 minutes and the instructions said maximum 35 mins processing time. I kept checking to see if the roots had lifted and after about 15 minutes I could tell they were doing well so made the decision to leave the colour on for an extra 5 minutes to make sure my roots were done. A previous reviewer said she had fairly dark hair and had left it on for an hour so I thought it must be safe enough to do without my hair dropping out! So, after 40 minutes in total I stepped into the shower with my purple shampoo (just in case of orangeness), rinsed, washed with the purple shampoo then conditioned with Clairol’s conditioner. Next I blow dried and straightened my hair as usual. All my roots were covered, no orange tones and the ends were the same colour, which I would say is a little bit lighter than what I normally have but I actually love it! It’s a lovely creamy blonde and is absolutely fab!
So guys, anyone with light to mid brown roots, who is as nervous as I was to use a box dye in case of it turning out brassy or ginger, give it a go, you won’t regret it. I actually wish I’d done it much earlier and will not hesitate to buy it again until my hairdresser is open for business again.
With the current lockdown situation in the UK, my grey hairs were starting to come through with a vengeance… I’d been spraying that root colour on them, but it was getting to the point where I needed to take drastic action! I have long hair and I usually get my colour done at the hairdressers. I hadn’t bought a packet dye mix since my teenage years, so it was with some trepidation that I retreated to the bathroom and opened the packet. I covered myself with a towel, put on the enclosed gloves and set to work. Thankfully the instructions were reasonably clear. Mix one part with the other and shake well. It then said to part the hair along the scalp and apply the mixture to the roots. This all looked nice and neat in the pictures, but I found it practically impossible to do this myself, so in the end I just squirted it all over my scalp. massaged it in and spread it around with my fingers. My grey hairs are a bit colour resistant and usually need a longer development time, so I kept the dye on for the longer recommended time (about 10 minutes extra). I then went back to the instructions, which said to put the remaining dye on the rest of the hair. Oops! I’d put it all on my scalp! But this was OK – I just pulled it down through the rest of my hair with my hands. I kept it on for the recommended time and then stood in the shower to rinse it all off. I washed my hair with my usual shampoo and applied the conditioner that comes with the dye. You leave it on for a couple of minutes and then wash it out. For me, my hair felt like it needed a bit more conditioning, so I applied my usual conditioner too (my hair is quite dry). As for the result – well, I have to say, I was SO IMPRESSED with this hair dye. All of my (difficult) greys were coloured well. My hair felt smoother than usual and the colour was very good. A little on the dark side (more black than dark brown – possibly because of the amount I’d put on to start with!), but it looked good. I would even go so far as to say that it looked better then when I come back from the hairdresser!! And it smelled really nice too. I couldn’t believe it!! It makes me wonder why I usually pay about 10x as much to get it done!! Yes, the process was a bit fiddly and a bit messy but honestly I was so pleased I’d decided to do this. I highly, highly recommend it. And I’ve already bought another pack for next time!
