Been using this wire for a long while now, works amazing, i had some hickups a month back and bought a new one (same company) but that one didnt work at all so i switched back to this one. lets me feel as though im on an index because it just doesn’t die. I use this with a quest 2, pcvr, index controllers and fbt, works amazing
Really good with meta quest 2. Gives power so you don’t have to take breaks to recharge and give less screen tearing than air link mode does
Best and a must have accessory for your headset, extends your playtime to unhealthy lengths, make sure you take a break in between your extended gamne sessions.
A well made cable with a good length, what are you waiting for….place that order.
Works well. Nice length to move around when connected. Uses original charger to power.
Have noticed that when turned on the cable more or less keeps the charge stable as opposed to topping up, so you don’t lose battery but don’t gain any either, you do get to use it for much much longer though
It keeps my headset charged while i play VRchat and Beat Saber so im happy that i don’t have to keep worrying about when my headset gonna die or how long my battery pack will last, yes its not wireless but it is absolutely worry free and help with the immersion just that little bit more
I bought this alternitive cable for my son, allowing him to connect his Quest 2 VR headset to a PC ( usb-c port on PC required), instead of him paying for the official Quest 2 cable over 90.
Up to now this alternitive 23 cable is a great job, offering users over 3mb transfer rate and perfect for linking the Quest VR headset to a PC, for all his gaming needs.
I can confirm that this cable works with the quest and a pico 4 vr headset. It is a long cable and quite thick so it does not have alot of slack in the cable due to it being wrapped in braided material. The USB c to usb 2 adaptor that comes with it is rubbish. It fit looses in the port and does not keep connection. Luckily I have a USB c slot to use it with instead.
I decided to risk the Kuject cable since I was convinced that the official Meta cable was way too expensive for what it was. Arrived quickly and in simple packaging. The cable feels pretty thick and sturdy, and after about six months of semi-regular use, it’s still in great nick. The USB-C at both ends is definitely a key selling point, because it means that my laptop can charge my Quest 2 while it’s running – the headset still technically drains but *very* slowly, I’m fairly confident I could use it for 48 hours straight if I really wanted to.
The video quality through the cable seems great, though since this was my first cable, I don’t have anything else to compare it to. Overall very happy with this one, no complaints thus far!
The cable is absolutly worth the purchase, if you want to play VR for a very long period of time. I have had this cable Since 8/May/2022 and every since then ity has been a very good cable. The positives I hae had with the cable is that I am able to play most of the VR titles that I own PC using the usb that is required by oculus to connect to PC. It does pass all the tests that is required to play VR with Ease. However if you dont want to use PC or have a good PC, you can still use the charging mechanism by using a data transfer USB that might be found on a laptop to give you the fast charge and longevity of play times. The cable is very sturdy and firm which makes if a very solid cable to not worry about it breaking in the future. Now for the negatives of the cable is that when you connect the cable to the headset, it will become a little heavy for the head. Since the cable is sturdy and kinda bulky it feels like an anchor on your head which isnt that comfortable. My solution for that was to put the cable on my Light that helps with the support and makes it not feel noticible, but still is. Another negative about the cable is if you do not play VR for more than 2 hours or so, there is no point of buying this cable. Only reason I have it is because of the PC VR and the charging balance. Overall it is a very good cable for PC Vr and much better than most cables that only have cable and no charging placement in the cable.
The connection with the headset is good and you can loop the cable through the headset to keep it from ripping out. I have had perfect connection the whole time I have used it and it seems good, sometimes the Oculus Link on the Desktop complains about it being USB 2.0 but it doesnt feel like it is actually. The problem is that when you plug it into your pc it doesnt feel secure, I have not actually had a problem with it but it doesnt feel right.
Had some issues getting it to work, until I studied the instructions on the packet. There is a specific order with which to connect . Do it in the correct order with the headset turned off initially and it will work fine.
Works great and holds the battery at at about 84% for me. Hours of gameplay on my Sim racing rig as a resul
Ok so for context my old cable that came with my quest 2 broke and didnt work anymore so i bought this one and i have done nothing but plug it into my pc and started charging the quest 2.
I have noticed that the charging is considerably slower the original charging cable had an avrig charge from 25%-80% of an hour and a half. I have had this one charging the headset for 3 hours know and it has charged from 25%-40% whit in that time (i am using the usb-c to usb-c with the usb adapter)
Edit
Ok so i have tested it on another quest 2 that was on 8% charge but this time i used the quest 2 charging plug and it has gone from 8%-38% within half an hour i do not believe it was the cable but the usb port i was using this could have scewd the results
Bought this as I initially had a 3m cable but found out I needed a bit more, wanted 5m before I found this one for the same price so took a chance. Used it for a few weeks now almost everyday with no problems, sync issues or any lags. Cable still looks new after dragging it about everywhere while using my headset.
The cable is really good with excellent build quality. I believe my B550 Gigabyte motherboard is at fault for not providing enough power through the USB3 ports. There are issues with the boards in this regards so my Quest 2 still loses power quickly through cable streaming. I now prefer wireless so I bought a battery pack instead. Will keep the cable though as it’s good.
It’s a great quality cable for the price. Durability-wise it feels like it’ll last a long time since it’s made of decent rubber / plastic. The connection to my PC is basically perfect and it never drops out, though it took me a little while to realise I had to disable AirLink before it would work lol.
The only slight drawback is that it doesn’t completely hold the Quest’s charge. I’m still giving it 5 stars since the amount of time you need to be playing before it dies is very long, and I’m pretty sure it’s circumstantial depending on how demanding the game you’re playing is.
Worth every penny.
Bought this 6m USB-C to USB-C cable from Amazon to connect an Oculus Quest 2 to my PC (i7-9700k / RTX3080 12GB / 64GB RAM) for VR flight simming (DCS World mostly) using Oculus Link. I figured the 90 or so official link cable is not any better.
Works perfectly, over 2Gbps speed meaning no issue with head tracking or image smoothness and the 6m means it’s plenty long enough. The cable itself seems well made and sturdy. Comes with USB3 adapter, but I don’t need it it’s a nice touch.
I do find the prices for cables very steap, but I’ve no issues with this cable so far. It is shipped well packed and has several useful accessories such as a USB A adaptor, and a cable management tie. It seems to be good quality from what I can tell so far, and charges my ipad pro fine. I’ve only recieved it a short while ago so I’ll update my review if I have any issues with it, but all good so far!
I bought this cable as it’s really annoying when you’re playing a game and get really into and get the battery low notification pops up saying it’s needs to charge. I thought i’d try this and seen people say it works for them and actually maintains charge but sadly for me it doesn’t maintain it but it does drain extremely slow like 1-2% and hour which really you ain’t going to playing for that long for it to even reach low battery.
I followed all the guides to make this work but nothing seems to make it maintain it but overall i would recommend this to others if your annoyed when playing VR and you dont get enough play time.
In comparison to the Oculus original I was suspicious as to if this cable would have the transfer rate support to do what was needed. 6m is also an extra meter on the Oculus. This worked a treat. All USB C3 including the Donegal/adapter. Overall I feel I saved a packet getting this one. No glitches when streaming through Unity in developers mode. Does what it says it will do. I would buy again, without question.
Bought these because it was long and sturdier then alot of other leads. Use it for the Oculus quest 2. Works fantastically, the only down side is when my son does lots of turning round, I have to unravel it, until now no breakage and still charged everytime its in use! Would recommend
I want to start this by saying I have owned the official cable, and it’s fantastic. Has an audible click every time you plug it into or out of the headset. That is not to say, however, that is is good value for money. It is not. 100 bucks for a 5m cable? I understand it has a fiber-optic core, but it would have to have a core made of diamonds to be worth 100 dollars.
This cable is fantastic value for money. Same length as the official cable, with comparable speeds, for a quarter of the price. I also like the included velcro band, which I use to remove strain on the connector.
So bought this cable on the basis that it was the longest and purportedly had the best specs in its price range for Oculus Link. I got delivered today and this evening I sat down with my PC and plugged it in to my USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C port on the front of my PC. I tested the speed and found Oculus reporting back as USB 2. Hmmm…OK. Try connecting the port at the rear of my PC, same thing.
I started to think it was a duff cable and the guy complaining in the reviews was right to do so. However, not wanting to right this cable off, I did some research. As it turns out, the usb ports that I have on my PC are from ASMedia and not Intel and that there is a known issue with these ports when it comes to Oculus.
I spotted that on my RTX 2080ti, I had another type c port, I thought I’d give that a whirl, to my relief, the oculus app returned a good test.
So, not the cable, just the hardware I have. A word to the wise, check your hardware if you’ve got a problem, it’s probably that and not the cable!
As the description states, you get a decent quality 6m braided USBC to USBC cable, with a right angled connection for the headset end, a USBA converter, and a velcro strap to keep things tidy. It comes in a sturdy shrink wrapped box and appears to be a quality item. One thing to bear in mind, is that being a braded cable, it is fairly stiff, but looped through the rear headset strap, I don’t notice this.
Speed:
As for the functionality, it worked out of the box giving 2.9 to 3.0 Gbit transfer speed on the Oculus USB test. This seems comparable to the Official cable speeds I see reported.
Disconnects:
So far, there have been no disconnects during use, and the throughput seems to be at least on par with my old Rift CV1, if not better, and of course at a higher screen resolution.
Charging:
I was warned by many reviews that only the official Link cable could charge the headset while in use. That is not the case. This cable happily charges while in use as a link, even when using heavily graphical apps such as flight simulators. The light always stayed on 100% while connected.
Connection:
Make sure you use a USB 3.1 connection or 3.2 if you have it, with a decent power output, not any old USB 3.0 for the best results.
The USB connection to NVidia RTX 2800S USBC (VirtualLink) output or mainboard USBC Superspeed port – (both USB3.1.).
