If you want to produce a classic rich melody from a Spanish guitar these can’t be beaten, many people use metal strings but are to harsh a sound to sound correct.
Fiddled a bit to string his guitar as it had been a while since I’d strung an acoustic. These were great, the colour codes helped make sure I put the right ones on!
Nice strings for my non profesional playing 🙂 always buy this brand and they perform well, sound is good and nice feeling on the fingers so no complains here, recommended. A bit on the expensive side but they last well
Beautiful sounding strings for the money. The colour coding on the ends is hard to see and was very faded on my pack, but it’s not hard. They go from thick to thin, wound then unwound.
I use the strings on my classical guitar and fitted them using a YouTube tutorial.
Strings feel very good quality and are smooth. Easy to fit and tune. They will take some time to stretch but I can see these being very good quality strings from a reputable brand that will make my guitar sing.
I’m very pleased with this purchase and can highly recommend them.
Bought these to give an old guitar a new lease of life and they were easy to fit and sound great. Took a week or so to tune up and hold thier tune well now Will buy again soon for another classical guitar.
Bought this set to breath some life back into an old 3/4 biginners guitar that was an attic find.
Watched some videos online on how to restring a guitar and it did take a little bit of time. Nilon strings needed to be over stretched as they kept going out of tune but was fine after I did that.
Sound quality is great bearing in mind it is a inexpensive kids beginners guitar.
It might be that my old strings were so worn out that I had forgotten what my guitar should sound like, but these strings made an instant difference. They have a bright and clear sound with more warmth than I was expecting at this price. It took about 36 hours for the tuning to settle.
The only slight gripe was that the colour coding on the clear strings was very faint, so I had to go by their thickness instead. Not a problem, but it just meant a little bit more effort!
Put these strings on. I tightened them up slowly but didn’t tune up. Left them overnight and tuned them the next day. Left for a while as I know they will slip out of tune so left them for an hr or so. Was watching tv when I heard a snap. The high E went. Very annoying. Have to be rubbish!
I bought these to resurrect my first ever guitar, a nylon strung student model which, according to its label, is a B&M Clasico, and which has been languishing unloved in the loft for the last 27 years. The strings were easy to fit and, apart from the G string, stayed in tune after a couple of stretches and retunes – although I suspect the issues had more to do with the rudimentary construction of the guitar than any problem with the string itself. They breathed new life into a neglected instrument, sounding round and full on the lower strings and sweet on the top three. The brand has a high reputation for all types of guitar strings, electric, acoustic and classical, and this set is proof that it is well-deserved.
Is not the first nor the last time I will buy this pack for my Spanish Guitar. The strings are of the highest quality so they last for a very long time and they keep the string tension extremely well. The packaging is also very informative and well designed. Totally recommend!
These are the best nylon strings I’ve ever come across [this particular packaging] – and I’ve tried a lot over the many years I’ve been buying them. I find it a bit hard to describe them in detail, but they are pure quality and to my mind, improve the sound and feel of the instrument a lot.
Thank goodness for the quality control element of this company.
Highly recommended.
I’m a big fan of hard tension strings on classical guitars, as I am not really a classical player. They’re brighter, louder and definitely stiffer, depending on what kind of guitar you’ve got. I put some on a cheap fifty quid Stagg and they totally transformed it from a muffled plonker into a clanking war machine!
Having just swapped the original strings from a Yamaha C40 to these, I can say once again that it is transformed. The whole guitar sounds brighter and livelier and the intonation is spot on. Hard strings rock!

Classical strings can be a pain to put on, but if you’re having trouble, use a small pair of needle-nose pliers to tie a tiny knot in the end of the nylon strings before you take them back over the bridge, wind them round and tuck them under. Then they will not slip. As for the other end, make sure you have a straight run from the centre of the barrels down to the nut and you will be OK. Use the whole string and do not cut any off, so you will wind on 100 – 120 times each. You can trim them after they’ve settled down, if you need to, but use a small pair of wire cutters, not nail clippers or scissors.
For those who has concerns of understanding different strings plz check the photos, these are what I got. Although not each one is coloured as described, you won’t be confused as clear nylon and sliver on nylon are easy to tell and you will sort it out quickly.
Fine for student classical guitars. Fairly robust strings for everyday use. Add a new ‘brightness’ to the sound of your old acoustic folk guitar, (dig it out from the cupboard under the stairs or from the attic, and dust it off) and play some of those old Bob Dylan or Joan Baez protest songs of the 1960’s and 70’s that you used to know several decades ago!!!!
They will take a few days to settle in and stretch to their working tension, so you will have to retune frequently for the first few days to keep bringing them up to pitch. Good purchase for the money, and will add a new sparkle to the dull sound of an old acoustic guitar.
Certainly recommend these for students, or beginners to the classical guitar.
I have a Valencia guitar, probably the cheapest on the market, and this string brought my experience into another whole new level. Strings are as important as the instrument itself. The bass strings sound very sharp and the all the strings respond very quickly to the strokes. However, their vibrations are a bit exaggerated and making the treble strings to overcome the bass ones is a bit of a challenge. Perfect for Spanish classical genre. I have never heard Asturias (for an example) sounding so powerful and colourful as with these strings. Definitely will buy the same package [at least the same brand] again.
