Oh Yes!! I waited an entire year until I could find it in stock. Bless you Amazon for finally having it in stock. Get pass the quick learning curve, and you will have so much fun. My family and I played it 4 times in one day, because it is so much fun to play. It’s easy to learn, you have to be careful how you play your cards to move your race car. And I loved how it mimics a real racing simulation, from the engine getting hot, to the engine cooling and upshifting/downshifting. Trust me, if you like easy euro’s this will NOT disappoint. And I like how the rulebook walks you through up the ante, start easy, learn it, then start adding modules and more difficulty as you get better at it. And the automa cards: WOW!!! They make the game even better.
While learning this board game for my gaming group, I discovered that this is probably one of the best solo, or single-player, board games ever made. I am not a huge fan of solo games, but I had a blast with this one. The AI player is easy and fast to play and very ruthless. The game really delivers on the feeling and stress of racing, where every decision you make will affect the outcome of the race. I will always play with the maximum number of players, substituting any available spots with the AI players. That said, this game does suffer from some poor design decisions and the rules can be confusing to teach. I recommend learning this game ahead of time and just tell everyone to ignore the iconography at the top of the player board. The game is easy to learn, but trying to follow the confusing iconography diminishes the speed and enjoyment of the game. I am looking forward to more cars, maps, and variants.
Na minha opinio o melhor jogo de tabuleiro do ano, joguei com minha esposa e conseguimos colocar o mdulo de lendas do automobilismo, ento foi possvel simular um jogo de 6 pessoas.
Quero jogar muito mais vezes
I learned to play this with my Meetup Gamers group. It was so much fun that I bought my own. It’s a very hot game right now and can be hard to find in stock. It is a game that involves a race track and cars. You play your cards, carefully, to get the best speed out of your car. You have to avoid over HEATing your car by taking turns carefully and using the right cards in your hand at the right time. I’m a 65 year old female and LOVE this game….and I’m NOT into watching car racing. It takes a little bit of reading and understanding to first play the game. But, once you get going it’s PEDAL TO THE METAL! I recommend this game for teens through adults and seniors. Keep your mind sharp and learn a new game every week!
If you are a car racing fan, this is a great game. There are many levels to it so it can be played as simply a racing game, or add several layers of difficulty to it. Can be played by up to 6 people. Comes with 4 different race tracks so you are not doing the same one all the time. Price might seem high for a board game, but consider future ‘expansion packs’ already included.
I still prefer more “truncated” auto racing board games, so Championship Formula Racing (a kind of updated version od the old SPEED CIRCUIT), so.it.still is my favorite.
But, for sheer fun, HEAT – PEDAL TO THE METAL is a blast! Simple without being shallow, beautiful graphics, a lot of strategic decisions, clever card driven mechanics, fast-paced, and up to six players.
I bought this to play with my 10 year old nephew and family.
It feels a bit complicated at first. I suggest playing the first few rounds with the rules handy and refer to them often initially to be sure you’re doing everything correctly. Once you get the hang of the game loop it’s actually pretty straightforward though, and then you can just play. (My nephew coped with it fine, and my Mum too…)
The game does a great job of providing a fun ‘racing’ experience, which was novel in board game, at least to me. There is a nice balance between skill and randomness, surprising depth really.
We only got a handful of games in over the holiday season but I could see that the multiple tracks, and ‘championship mode’, will keep it interesting over the longer term. Looking forward to next Christmas with the family!
Absolutely fantastic auto racing game. If you’re not experienced with strategy board games, there will be a little bit of a learning curve – but just search for “Heat: Pedal To The Metal – How To Play” on YouTube and watch Rodney Smith explain the rules. He makes it very simple.
Il pi bel gioco di corse di sempre. Ottimo anche in solitario
Heat: Pedal to the metal, is one of the top games of 2022. It plays well with any player count and there are plenty of contents in that huge thick box. That mote than justifies the higher price compared to regulat DOW titles. It is acceptable for new gamers while has enough strategic and tactical depth with a small dose of luck for experienced gamers. If you are looking for a good racing game, look no further.
A magnificent game and I’ve been playing games since I was five and am rapidly approaching my 6th decade.
Probably not an ‘easy’ game for beginners as the mechanisms will be unfamiliar and unpractised, but well worth persevering.
For those within the board gaming hobby, this is a game that rewards careful hand management and ‘going for it’ at the crucial moments, crossing the line with your car a metaphorical ball of flame!
The rules are well written, in such a way that within a few sessions, all the rules can be used which makes the game move from good to great.
What particularly stands out are the ‘bot’ rules, showing just how well thought out the whole game is.
The racing cars controlled by the system are not just there to get in the way of the actual players, but have a nasty habit of challenging for a win and occasionally doing so. Deeply embarrassing for the players who haven’t done a good enough job with their own cars.
If you liked ‘Flamme Rouge’, I think this is better. Significantly so.
Great racing game with a lot of replayability thanks to the many upgrade modules in the box. Easily one of my favorite game. The card racing system is genius and elegant. The game flows well and a race can be completed in about 45 minutes. There is a bit of a learning curve, not something too daunting (my 7 year old plays it just fine) but watching a “how to play” video on YouTube is helpful.
Fun mechanics that are easy to learn. Amazing detail and depth. Awesome presenation. Perfect for any racing fan/board game enthusiast.
Great hand management racing game.
Simple and engaging racing system that has you thinking ahead and balancing lots of different options.
Races always feel tight and come down to the last turn or two.
The automated opponents are so good and so easy to manage that I would only play without them if I had 6 real players.
The four maps all feel very different, the modules in the box add a tonne of variability and things to mess with.
This whole package is top notch, the game is fantastic, the production is beautiful and the amount of options in the box right out of the gate is huge.
Currently the best racing board game. Simple to learn and easy to play. Base game contains a number of extra modules that can be added easily to increase the complexity of the game slightly. Comes with four different tracks, and can be played by one to six players, with the great Legends system that provides an excellent AI that is extremely easy to control with just a flip of a card. Highly recommended.
Take the best bits of Flamme Rouge, Formula DE, Thunder Alley and the classic Speed Circuit. Combine carefully. Ladle on a fantastic AI system which makes even Solo Play a compelling breeze. Provide a modular approach to allow upgrades, weather, Championship seasons, Sponsorship and more at the player’s leisure. Then top it all off with beautiful artwork and components which evoke the Life and Death, Cut and Thrust days of 1960s Formula One when the sport was at it’s most visceral and dramatic. Simmer it through simple to learn but incredibly deep and rewarding mechanics and . . . voila.
Utterly brilliant and any player count due to the superb and easy to understand AI module. Once you have the rules down pat a single Grand Prix takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Four circuits are included for six players. The box makes it obvious though that they wish to expand this to eight. More circuits will surely come too if this sells as it deserves to.
Frankly I can’t think of a reason to own any other racing board game now.
