I used these to make a big lean to outside my back door. I built a 2.4m long frame with 4×4 posts and simple 2.1 struts. I then put these Polycarbonate Twin Wall Sheets on the frame, with a slight overlap and screwed in place. They are immaculate. I love them. Cannot recommend them enough to be honest. I have bought some clear tape to seal the joints. But really, ive pushed them together tight, and screwed them down and they appear to be watertight. We haven’t had a big rain storm since. I am sure there will be a need for the tape. But these sheets are magic. A great price too, excellent coverage. Buy them, you wont be disappointed.
Not yet arrived. Update 24/06/22 Has now arrived.
It is what I expected. The slightly longer delivery period (2 extra days) is of no consequence. I prefer the economic delivery cost. I know from experience that transport of roofing components seems disproportionately high. An attempt to purchase this material as part of an order for other roofing components added 27 to the order making each individual sheet very expensive. 74 for 14 sheets, delivered, is fine.
and light, so can lift by one person.
I am using it as an insulating the shed which already has a solid roof but is very cold in wither.
Panels are easy to cut by even a kitchen or Stanley knife and glue together with a glue gun or screw to a timber.
Users are right as these panels are good for very specific purposes as they can’t survive a windy condition as they are soft and flexible.
I am ordering a few more packets to complete my project, as I am satisfied .
My advice to the seller is to use Amazon delivery, as current delivery is very poor and careless.
Storm Ciara and then Dennis really wreaked havoc on my greenhouses and we lost a lot of glass. We ordered these sheets with no real confidence but I have to say they were much better than we were expecting. They are sturdy and very easy to cut with a sharp stanley knife. We glazed both greenhouse that had lost 30% of their glass in under a day. I would recommend that you invest in a few extra clips, the panels are not as rigid as glass but an extra clip or two on each panel really makes the difference.
A good product, buying this way is great value. But the delivery was chaotic – for some reason a call was going to happen – it didn’t and then product just arrived although quickly. The large package was left on a flower bed near my front door squashing the plants which was annoying and ironic. One corner of the package was damaged – probably by the same courier that squashed my garden plants.
The panels are lightly packed, are clear and bright though some were damaged to one corner during delivery – see above comment – but as various trimming was going to be required this was not an issue.
The panels are manufactured at correct width for widest panel of a standard greenhouse. Narrow panels are easily trimmed to size with a sharp / new stanley knife blade and a straight line on a flat surface.
Elsewhere on Amazon I bought “glazing “w” wire clips and “z” overlap clips” and they work perfectly with these polycarbonate sheets.
I don’t expect these panels will last for more than a few years due to the impact of UV on plastics but at the moment the greenhouse is once more warm, bright and draught free.
The only reason I dropped a star was the (non Amazon) delivery which was confused and careless.
I ordered these a while ago and fitted them to a very rustic greenhouse I had made using old pallets. These Polycarbonate sheets made perfect windows for it. They are pliable enough to cut using a stanley knife, and once in, make a pretty rigid window. They have withstood a sub zero winter and are now enduring our current blistering hot spell we are having. Thoroughly recommend them.
Swapped the glass out of MIL’s green house. Removing the old broken panes was slow, but attaching these was quick. The metal spring clips would occasionally slip under the plastic but you just need to persevere. I am concerned that, due to their flexibility, they may pop out in a strong wind, but only time will tell.
As for the MIL, well she has a brand new, clean, safe greenhouse. She’s already planning what she’ll grow next.
Make sure you retain the old rubber seals, or make a bead with sealant, or the gap between frame and clip is too large to be secure.
Also, we have a few spares from two boxes so I’ve been commissioned to build a cold frame or two…
This very good and worked ok! For my standard 6 x8 Greenhouse they only just fitted on the roof being about 20mm smaller on the width. I managed to make them fit but only just. same for the sides. But then I had to buy from elsewhere for the door. I will however use them in the future for garden projects. and will be buying some more. (If only they were 10 – 20 mm wider.)
