I usually don’t buy open box items, but this was a pretty significant deal so I took a chance.
It arrived in perfect condition. The only thing missing was the original Dewalt box. I will definitely consider buying open box tools again.
I use a corded palm sander for all sorts of projects. Having one without the cord in the way is amazing.
I really like using this sander campared to the old one I had. No cord, easier to use, battery lasted throughout sanding a repair on a wall. Glad I got this to replace my old sander.
Speedy delivery. The cordless sander seems well made and should be reliable. The various speed control makes it more versatile for the project you are working on and conveniently located. The sandpaper punch is easy to use, punching holes on the sandpaper without much effort. However, lifting the sandpaper out from the punch requires a bit of effort if the punch is not secured to a hard surface. I used the sander to sand a piece of deck plank using a 60 grit sandpaper and it works well for me. The dust bag didn’t really capture that much sand dust, but it’s better than nothing. Overall, I am satisfied with how the 1/4 sander performs.
Does a really good job while consuming less battery power. This sander comes with a very easy clamping system a big improvement from the older models. Not heavy at all even with a 5ah battery. Highly recommended. Cordless is the way to go and DeWalt knows how to do it best. I highly recommend this 1/4 sheet variable speed cordless sander with a 5ah XR battery.
We bought this to fix our old dilapidated mailbox, post and strut. It was too far from the house to drag an electrical cord to use our electric sander. This one worked perfectly to sand the mailbox post and strut etc. down to the point it could be painted. It was light to work with, and small enough to get into most spots. I now have two hand sanders and find myself using both depending on where the job may be. Inside and close to a plug, electric. Outside , the cordless one. They are both DeWalt and both dependable tools I use a lot.
This sander works perfectly, I have been refinishing lots of vanities and this tool does a lot of work, I really like the dust collection bag, I was using a milwaukee before I bought this and that is one of the better parts of it, the rubber grip is also a feature that I like more than the old milwaukee. Either way both would get the job done but I switched to dewalt and do like it a bit better.
With a variable speed control, this little sander has proven itself in one short afternoon. It’s versatile and it’s easy to use. The only issue is if you have a larger battery, it won’t fit with the dust catcher. But, you can remove the dust catcher and it works fine.
Found this on a sale and snapped it up. I have plenty of batteries so a bare tool was great. Changing sandpaper is easy and it comes with a dust bag.
I’ve used this sander many times it did s great job. I have a few batteries so if I have to I just switch them out.
This is a great sander for woodworking. I like different sanders for different jobs. I have several but I really like Dewalt tools. They are all 20V and use the same batteries.
16 months ago, I bought this palm sander and have used it often (woodworking hobbyist). 3 weeks ago, it stopped working. Checked with Amazon, who sent me to Dewalt’s Warranty email address. Told them what happened, they said send it in and we’ll see if we can fix it, even though the warranty was for 1-year. Today I received this brand new one via UPS…no more questions asked. Can’t argue with that kind of service!
It’s a little more expensive, but the absence of the cord makes a huge difference and the adjustable spend (something I thought would be useless) really helps you get the result you want – all the way up with 80 grit paper and you will remove material rapidly. Slow it down with 220 grit and get a finish on soft woods that is smooth like glass. Is there such a thing as a perfect tool? Probably not, but this is about as close as I’ve ever got. Fabulous.
I always used Dewalt stuff and have just added this to my collection. A 5ah battery lasts a fair while in it. The paper is easy to change and grips really well.
Only a domestic user but it did the job I wanted with no issues to report.
The DT3024-QZ recommended sanding pads are too small, they don’t go in the clips. You need 115 x 140mm sanding pads for this sander.
Typical Dewalt quality just a shame you can’t buy sand paper ready to fit.
I already have the dewalt random orbit 18v sander, which i thought was brilliant apart from it didn’t get corners nor is it much good on anything intricate. So i decided to buy this sheet sander as i use the rolls of abrasive. On the plus sides very easy to use, gets in corners, excellent battery usage (approx 10 mins per ah), easy to fit paper, very comfortable. The only mark against it is that the dust extraction into the dust bag is not as good as the random orbit sander. Also I bought mine from USA to save about 50% against the UK model so i could not register the guarantee in the uk. I don’t anticipate this being a problem as the quality is great so i expect it to last. I use it daily without any problems. I would definitely recommend it. Buy from USA, save some money. 18v batteries are the same as the USA 20v. Just different labels.
Easy to use, takes a bit of effort to poke holes in the paper but they work well. Excellent mechanism for holding the paper – works very well. I use the thicker prepared paper – saves the soft surface as it doesn’t break so easily. Easy to hold at any angle. As with any sander it makes some dust – but this one actually picks up enough to fill the bag. 2 Amp/hr battery run about 30 min, 5 a/h batteries work better and are light enough that it is still manageable.
Had the 110 of this sander but wanted an 18v. Wish I’d have bought this years ago.
It’s a great sander, good quality as you come to expect from DeWalt. It’s a question I see asked a lot, this is the US (20v) model. Yes it is compatible with UK 18v XR batteries. No there are no import fees or taxes, what you see if what you pay.
Quality you’d expect – we’ll balanced and easy to handle
Quality piece of kit and cheap compared to other brands
Great quaility.. The way the sandpaper clips on is a good design.
V pleased with this, it works with a 18v battery.
This sander is tiny, weighs nothing, very powerful, smooth, ergonomic, durable and bought from Amazon US – inexpensive. Good purchase.
I like that it works with my uk 18v XR batteries and saved me 50 compared to UK model prices.
A good sander, which replaced a corded one. Unfortunately the size of the square sanding sheets is wider that the rectangular ones more widely used (of which I had quite a stock).
I find the switch a little fiddly to press in the correct place, but otherwise it is a good tool and comfortable to hold. I didn’t buy a battery as it takes the same battery as my de Walt multi tool for which I keep a spare battery.
After my 25 yr old Porter Cable corded sander died my wife persuaded me to spend a little extra(not my normal tendency) and get the 20V DeWalt sheet finishing sander(DCW200B). Not having to get a power cord, plug it in and bring it over to my project was Wonderful ! I’m amazed how much of a joy it is to use, not having to mess with a power cord constantly getting in the way and not having to think if there’s an electrical outlet nearby. I used it to completely refinish a teak patio table(about 10-12 total hrs of sanding) and found it to be comfortable but a little heavy to hold. I used DeWalt 5.0 AH 20V XR batteries which gave me at least 2hrs run time before I needed to take a break and switch batteries. One other feature I like was the ease of replacing sandpaper sheets. MUCH easier than my old sander. The freedom from power cords and ease of replacing the sandpaper prompted me to replace my 25yr old Porter Cable random orbit sander(even tho it was still perfectly functional) with the DeWalt cordless version(replacing functional tools with new ones is not in my DNA).
