Raymond E. DEWALT followed in his father’s steps, and worked in plants and construction after leaving school. In all fields of work he encountered the issue of high labour costs. To help reduce these costs, whenever possible he installed a machine to handle specific needs.
One fine day, M. DEWALT was hired to head a wood mill, manufacturing numerous products, from basic boxes to complete houses. The amount of work exceeded the company’s capacity by far, but its owner could not afford to increase the headcount. The only solution was to ensure his men produced more work. M. DEWALT built a yoke, which he connected directly to a motor and a saw. He then fitted it onto a standard arm. The saw could be raised, lowered, moved forward and backward, and adapted to all types of angles. With this system, he could handle the same amount of work as four men, reducing labor costs beyond his wildest imagination.

I picked up this set to replace my older drill and it has not missed a beat. First project a new 10 meter fence and it was a breeze, charge lasted longer that I thought did all of the work on charge and could not be happier. Drill was handy for the a couple of pilot holes and the driver did most of the work. The combo and the drill bits are great gets the job done and will last me for a good time to come. Been using the combi drill since February 2022 I have used Dewalt for years and had no trouble but the combo has managed to get stuck in hammer mode and can’t seem to get through to anyone for the warranty for a replacement to be sent out to me
It did the job for what I needed to do,,, mean while performing!!! time will tell
Battery has completely stopped working after 10 months of intermittent use. The drill and impact are nice bits of kit however. Not worth buying off these though, just buy bare units or purchase somewhere else.
Update : Battery fixed under warranty
Dewalt quality, replacement for drill I had for 15 years, excellent for jobs around the house.
Comes with 5ah batteries meaning you don’t need to charge them very often.
Build quality is amazing just don’t like this battery movement plus I do believe mine came as a tiny bit used. See pictures, please. Thanks
I keep to use dewalt for more than 15 years, and I’m very keen to work with them, I like the impact most because now I can set the torque speed and is useful ,can’t snap the screws or bits . The battery is last enough, and I can say I have old battery for long than 5 years and are still working good.
Drill is really powerful and driver is a bit of a monster. Takes some getting used to. Maybe too much for average diyer as these things really do have some power.
It is very good, but its price is high and it is not easy to use
Bought these for a friend as he was so jealous of my set it seemed a perfect 30th present. These have time and time again done what asked for, more than enough power and durability plus the DeWalt batteries are grea
The only problem I had to start with was the drill Chuck kept becoming loose, the owner manual is not clear that you must tighten the Chuck until it clicks a couple of times, no more problems
The DCD 776 combi is my third.
My tools take a battering, working outdoors in all weathers. It screws into light and heavy steel all day long every day. A great all rounder.
These things are epic!!! Absolute quality. I had a plug in Bosch drill which is great but I was having to work in lots of places that weren’t close to power outlets. Tired of running extension cords I bought these drills. With a good set of bits these will do anything a plug will.
The drill and impact are Dewalts usual good quality. I swapped out my old battery style for these new ones, due to better battery availability. If I have one criticism it would be that the light doesn’t turn off. When I kept playing with it in the living room when I first got it, the wife got quite annoyed with me.
Very good drill, especially for the money.
I don’t know if it’s just mine or if others people’s are the same but the flick over button for forward and reverse seems really loose and rattles about abit. Apart from that really happy would of been 5 stars
As expected from Dewalt outstanding quality and performance, I used the impact driver all afternoon on a fence and battery still on max. The seller dispatched my order within the hour of the being placed and arrived the next day. Very high quality product and service.
Highly recommended and worth the price.
