Feels great in your hands comfortable feel better to cut with than a regular saw highly recommend for your camping ki
I’m a fisherman so needed something that was small and compact to fit in my bag. This is the perfect tool for trimming tree branches, nettles and brambles, it’s sharp, strong and fits into small bags or even your pocke
My husband was getting on well with the saw (he’s not a natural gardener) Whilst using, the pin which holds the saw in place & ensures against accidentally closing, fell out of the assembly. Luckily he found the pin quite quickly in the remains of a small shrub. I tried without success to reconfigure the pin – noted for next time – return & replacement process quick & easy. Husband needs further instructions before trusted
Used it to cut down 2 small conifers.Saw worked really well.
I just required a little handy saws so i was able to train my hedges and keep everything under control and this does just that for me.
I keep it stored in the house so it is not exposed to all different weathers and keeps it rust free.
I can just hold the branch in one hand and saws it off with the other without much effort and the twigs then come right off.
Really nice, simple and easy to use, cannot fault it, it does its job and thats good with me.
I was surprised on how sharp this so actually was.
It seems very sturdy when you’re using it. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to snap or close on itself or anything like that.
The button can be fiddly depress on open at the same time. It is definitely not a one-handed job.
One thing to be aware of is, after using mine in the garden to sore up some wood I closed it, put it on the side and forgot to bring it in a stayed outside overnight in the rain and I didn’t think anything of it. I just thought it was dirty but upon picking it up It had started to rust in parts and go brown. So within a few days of getting it brand new saw it was already rusty. So I think it could do with a better coating for weatherproofing of some sort in manufacturing.
I used it to sew up a Devan bed. It did get through the wood just fine after the first few strokes where you made a groove. You can’t tell this is made for branches on trees because of how it cuts the wood and how easy it gets through things. It is a very noisy sore because of this when using an inside sore up Devan bed haha where are the normal? Saw with slightly close to smaller teeth would be a lot smoother to get started on soft pine wood and much quieter.
Overall very sharp, decent salt. Very small and compact easley fits into a little toolbug.
Just be aware, do not leave it outside and forget about it. Always bring it back into the garage shed or the house after use because it will rust very quickly.
I used it to cut back a hydrangea bush.
Easy to hold saw no trouble using them.
Great little saw, does the job very well and fast.
Speedy delivery within 2 hours of ordering.
Very nice saw, very sharp, strong blade that cuts on both strokes. Made light work of cutting 3″ thick wood from a fallen birch and filled a good sized bag in 20 mins. The safety feature of the blade locking part way through closing to prevent trapping fingers is very nice. Strong sturdy metal mechanism with thick plastic covering and soft rubber grip AND it fits in a coat pocket! Bargain.
Handy and easy to use nice grip makes short work of what I’ve cut so far saves getting the power tools ou
This is a budget saw at under 10 but it feels sturdy enough – the design is fairly generic with a latched handle, but annoyingly as with other similar saws, the small hole for hanging up is blocked by the blade itself when folded! Other than that it cuts green wood pretty well, I doubt Bear Grylls would rely on it however! The handle is comfortable and usefully bright so when you drop it, you can see it easily! The blade is probably suited to small branches up to an inch rather than anything bigger as it feels a little short meaning more strokes. It is also a little on the thick side so again more effort as the kerf is wider than with a thin blade, but less chance of it bending. Overall a useful one to have hanging on the tool rack in case the regular saw goes ‘missing’!
I’m not a great fan of gardening. I like gardens, but only if I can sit in them and read a book. Fighting my way through the undergrowth doesn’t appeal to me, yet somehow I always get roped in when it’s time to ‘prune the shrubs’. This is an annual event, which usually coincides with me scratching the side of my car on an overgrown bush as I try to navigate off the drive, round next-door’s inconsiderately-parked van.
The activity is traditionally carried out with a blunt and inadequate pair of secateurs, which don’t work properly for me as I’m left-handed. Consequently, I usually come off second best, and end up physically and emotionally scarred while the bush merely withdraws to regroup.
No longer. I am now armed with a folding saw. I can chop the errant shrubbery off at ground level.
OK, it’s a fairly basic saw, but for cutting green wood like small branches it’s actually pretty good. It folds like a gigantic locking penknife, and cuts on the pull stroke. This doesn’t sound like a big deal, but trust me – as a woodworker I know that small saws are far easier to control if they cut when you pull rather than push.
For just under nine pounds I’m not really expecting hardened, swiss-steel, individually ground teeth. Nevertheless, it’s impressively sharp, and more than adequate for gardening in our modest suburban plot.
The folding handsaw comes packaged in plastic with a cardboard backing.
The handsaw is well made with according to the manufacturer of High Carbon Steel. It is compact in that the blade is foldable into the handle and also lockable in position when in use. The blade itself measures 18cm. It has a very comfortable handle to use. The blade cuts well and is great for cutting thicker tree branches.
I have found no issues with the folding handsaw so far, it has been very useful.
I hope you find my review useful.
Lightweight and compact when folded. Safety Release catch to open and close. Rubber ridged handle with a marvellous grip. Sharp serrated teeth. Design is refined it looks like a large pen knife. Hacks through tree branches and my rose tree effortlessly. No good with Ivy though only cuts through hard shrubs. Quality of materials is mediocre. It does what its designed to do. Cannot grumble at the price it’s cheap and cheerful.
I have not had a fold away saw before, and it is a nice thing to have available.
The use for me is that I an have a saw in a pocket and not worry about it snagging on something.
The saw itself is about 20cm folded and then doubles in size as you unfold it.
The teeth are pretty long and quite sharp.
When Unfolding, there is a button on top the handle to release it, however it unfolds about 1/4 of the way before it first catches on and you need to release it by the switch, then it will unfold all the way.
Not sure why it can unfold 1/4 before you need to click the release
It is a nice saw for some light cutting work, you could use it on some larger branches but you will probably be around a while. I do feel the blade seems best suited for small, wet branches .
Now that it is autumn and things need trimming back I thought I would order one of these and I got my son to have ago with this Hand Saw to see how good it was, it is sturdy with a flip out blade that clicks into place and safety lock. I have some hard to get at branches that are too thick for a secateur, too low for a tree lopper and too restricted for a full size saw, so this little hand saw did the trick, my son said that he wouldn’t want to tackle anything larger than 2 inches in diameter but for the smaller difficult to get at branches it is really handy to have.
I could tell that it takes some time to get through the larger branches hence why anything up to 2 inches is fine, he found it easy to use grip was comfortable, not to heavy and he cut about 10 branches from a forsythia and a few from a lilac and it did the job. It won’t replace tree loppers or a good full size saw but for the hard to get areas where these won’t work this is a good alternative.
This folding hand saw is a simple but effective tool. As well as locking closed, it can be locked into two open positions. The handle gives a nice grip. I used it to cut a thick branch in my garden, and it made a lovely clean cut, and didn’t get stuck once whilst I was sawing through the branch (the resulting cut can be seen in my video). I hope this was helpful.
At around a half to a third of the price of a branded folding saw, this one does a reasonable job. It’s not as fast to cut as I’d hoped it would be, but if you only have a few small jobs to do that won’t be a problem.
