Found these useful for teaching toddler how to hold cutlery and feed himself. Toddler seems to grip these easily. Would have liked some sort of storage case to put these in. They also do not lean on surfaces like the side of a plate or bowl so tend to fall into food. For the price, I did expect something a bit better.
My granddaughter was really struggling with her weaning spoon and fork and i ordered these . She’s doing amazing and is getting to grips of using them rather than her hands . Brillia
Perfect size and easy to hold for little hands. My little one has almost perfect scooping food up herself with the spoon and it hasn’t taken long at all with this cutlery set.
I bought these for my 14 month old to encourage her to start using cutlery, rather than her hands and she has took to them without a problem. Finds them easy enough to use and they are a great size to put in her changing bag to take out and about. Would definitely recommend them to other parents.
Agree with all the 5 start reviews I’ve seen, this is a brilliant introduction to other toddler cutlery. I give my son this spoon and a tommee tippee spoon at breakfast (mainly because they’re too expensive to justify another set and I use the TT if I need to speed the process along) he definitely prefers the doddl and makes much less mess.
My son has fed more independently since having them and is really enjoying using and learning with them. They seem really natural for him to hold and he’s gotten to grips with them Easily and quickly
Great little set to start off little ones with utensils. Very easy to clean and the perfect size for little hands. My son appears to find them very easy to handle but still prefers to eat with his hands like a feral beast. When he does decide to use them properly , they will be the perfect tools for the job.
This cutlery is great quality. Easy to clean and it definitely helped my son to advance in his using cutlery skill. We have done BWL since he was 6 months but found that most of the spoons/forks just weren’t really working for him. Around 9 months I brought this for him and it just made so much difference. He is 14 months and he is smashing his spoon and fork game!
I love this product so much. My little one was really struggling with toddler cutlery before when trying to turn it to their mouth however the shape of these has really helped and now no issues. And the fork can pick up more food than the other cutlery we have tried. Would 100% recommend.
I was a little hesistant whether to buy these as they’re a little more expensive than some traditional toddler cutlery, however, they’ve totally transformed the way my 18 month old eats. Other forks/spoons were just way too long for my toddler whereas these are perfect. Well worth the investment.
Even those my daughter is 18 months and still has the urge to eat yogurts and other foods with her hands only when she does use these, they are the perfect shape and size for her grip and is easy to use. No more faffing around with long handled spoons and forks.
My toddler loves it, he even waits until it pass him his cutlery to eat with. He mastered the skill very quick thanks to this.
The only negative is that it doesn’t come with the travel case like the 6months plus does and these don’t fit in that case. Would definitely suggest doddle to make a case for sure
These have been great for my son. He’s been using them since he was 10 months and they were the first cutlery we found that he could actually hold well and keep control over (he always held others with long handles at the very end so he struggled to keep food on them). They’re also easy to clean and don’t stain despite being white, even with tomato sauce. We use them at home and bought a second set to keep in his bag when we go out to eat, and a third for his grandparents’ house. They’ve made a world of difference with him being able to feed himself!
I love these for my babies and toddlers. So easy to hold when they’re starting to feed themselves. Used them for both my girls and now my son. One of my girls won’t use them anymore as she’s a big girl now lol so it doesn’t stop them from moving on to use proper cutlery when they’re ready. One set was all I needed for each child, they’re very durable. I got the recommendation from Natalie at Babyled Weaning Cookbook and would definitely recommend to others thinking of buying them
My little one has used these for a few months now. At 17 months he can now pick up the food with the fork and nearly mastering not spilling things on the spoon. The small, thick handles are perfect for his little hands and he holds them really well. We tried a couple of pieces of cutlery with him but these were the best from the moment he held them. Highly recommend!
Update 10/09
I can’t find the fork anymore and my son hasn’t been eating as usual anymore, he doesn’t enjoy eating without his favourite fork. I wish they could sell the fork separately but they don’t so I have just purchased a new set now, the previous fork has gone missing.
I’m so glad I purchased these for my 15 months old son. Since I got him these cutleries, he has been enjoying way more self feeding and has actually had a rapid development on his self feeding abilities. He loves the fork and the handle makes so that he can have a great grip. I actually have to look for them around the house every time as he takes the fork everywhere with him after eating Haven’t been using the spoon much. Can definitely say it was a worth purchase.
This is my 2nd set of dodlle cutlery.
The short handles are what makes them unique and easy to use for baby but these very same stubby handles are what upsets me.
As when eating a bowl of food, a traditional length handle can rest nicely on the side of the bowl. These ones however, sink right down into the food.
Another reason for my upset, these cutlery are also so small that I have accidentally thrown them in the bin not realising until after the bin man took my rubbish, leaving me the need to replace them.
Although amazing for baby’s dexterity, they are far from affordable. My first set cost me 18, combined with this new set I’ve spent 29 on 2 forks, 2 spoons and a knife, that sounds insane Esp paired with my other 2 qwarms.
Prior to buying these my Lo showed very little interest in feeding himself and no clue how to use a fork. Literally the first time I gave him these he was off and now eats confidently with his fork and spoon. In hindsight I might have bought the pack with the knife in to keep for when he is a bit older. They are a bit pricy but I’d say well worth it. Always hand wash so can’t comment on what others have said about the dishwasher.
