I bought this to tamp down earth and stones when building footings for a large summer house. I have found it to be very useful and it does as advertised.
Good quality product, used it lots for packing down clay, 20mm shingle and sharp sand etc, does what I need it to and have lent it to others with no issues, gives your shoulders and biceps a workout too!
It is very well built, sturdy with plenty of weight in the head. I have not used it yet but can’t envisage any problems with it as the handle is very securely attached to the head.
The handle is provided with a comfortable rubber grip which could do with being a little longer to get a good grip with both hands.
All in all very pleased.
Not yet used in anger. It arrived in time, packaging OK. It is a solid design with metal handle welded to head. All as described. It is a medium weight compacter which suits me just fine.
perfect for some minor road repairs, light enough to use, but heavy enough for the job. I used some cold lay macadam, layered and on the top layer I added some quick setting cement mix, which dried fast and hard, very pleased with the results!!
