Took my nephew a good 5 hours to put it up it would have been quicker if he’d had somebody to help him especially with the roof. He’s put one together before so that helped. I’m really pleased with it looks great and it’s a good size all my garden equipment fits inside plus other bits and bobs and there’s still quite a bit of room left. It’s rained and there’s been no leaks inside

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBrought this to put in our car port as we didn’t have space in the garden, was very easy to build with very clear instructions, didn’t take us too long, about 5-6 hours to fully complete with 2 people. Probably took longer the peel the clear plastic cover off the doors then to fit the roof. Went together with ease too, holes were in good positions just needed to maneuver some panels to line up easier.
Overall very pleased, I also have a yardmaster metal shed and it was a much bigger pain to put together than this one. This also looks so much nicer than most other metal sheds

Highly recommended for anyone of any skill level, definitely recommend at least 2 people to put it togethe

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIt took two of us to assemble, because you need someone to hold the part whilst the other puts in the screws and fixings. Putting the roof on was a little tricky. I think it took us approximately 4 hours to complete the assembly because there are a LOT of screws and fixings!

It’s been standing in the garden now for a few months. It’s withstood a heatwave, torrential rain and some strong gales coming of the hills. It isn’t weather tight (water comes in the bottom of the shed) but we fitted shelving to keep everything off the ground. If you have anything that needs to stand on the ground you may want to install a raised floor.

Alot of the holes don’t line up, slightly out on certain sheets, but you can make it work, for the money though, probably the best/ sturdy shed you can buy, it is a full day putting it together with 2 people, needs to be a calm non windy day to do i

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI absolutely love this shed was a bit of a slog to assemble as an old man with arthritis and had a few accidents doing the roof (have some nice scars now) but so pleased with the outcome so very happy.
Also maybe this will help some people who don’t like how the doors slide i purchased these mini caster wheels for only 3

for ease of build i recommend reading and re reading instructions fully, once familiar with the build format it is straightforward.other buyers have stated holes dont line up,this is not the case, just make sure you build it on a level platform and allow plenty of time, remember basically its a shed made from box profile sheeting so yes sharp edges are present but once built no sharp edges are well covered

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersFor context, shed was constructed by 2 20 something year old women with moderate DIY skills. Firstly, the box was heavy! We were surprised and impressed with how nicely it was packed together. I’d recommend laying everything out before starting the build to make it easier to find things. Secondly, despite some reservations about the quality of the instructions, they were actually quite clear. Be sure to read and reread, and look a few steps ahead to see how it’s supposed to look. The shed in of itself was actually quite easy to put together, there is some rhyme and reason to how everything goes together so you can get into a routine. It is time consuming in that there are various holes to screw/bolt. Definitely need at least 2 people to construct. I’d read some reviews about pre-drilled holes not lining up, this was somewhat true but with a bit of rejigging and loosening other screws, we got there and there weren’t too many that needed this. Unfortunately, living by the coast doesn’t offer many wind-free days, it was a concern that the panels seemed quite flimsy when attached to the base but as soon as the roof was on, the sturdiness is great. Trust the process! A few reviews said that the metal parts are like razors, they are sharp and you should wear gloves whilst in contact with the edges. However, the sharpest parts were the triangular sections that make the apex. These were lethal! Extra care should be taken when near these. We built the shed in 2 days (roughly 6 hours per day with plenty of breaks)
    Main things to take away:
    – Take your time and preparation is essential
    – Trust the process
    – The metal edges are sharp
    – If placing by a fence, make sure there’s enough room to get a ladder behind the back

Overall, very pleased and would buy again (though hopefully won’t have to for a while). All that’s left to see is how waterproof it is!

Wow, what a job it is to put this shed together. I would say i’m rather handy, but this one tested me with the instructions and total time to erect. Around 5 hours in total. Now that is in place, its exactly what we wanted to store the garden pots and hand tools. As others have mentioned, the doors arent great in the way they operate. The design of the door runners isnt good. Would recommend it if you dont mind the hassle of putting it together and the door issue

For the money it is excellent value, good design and the instructions were easy to follow and every piece was labelled well, so no confusion. Better than my last wooden shed and although the panels seem thin, it seems very solid once assembled.

The main aspects of building this shed. It’s a 2 person job don’t try it yourself. The instructions are very clear but follow them to the letter. A solid base is a must. make sure you fix this shed to the base and ground solidly, it is light enough to blow away in high winds. I really enjoyed building my shed I hope you do too.

    Definately a 2 person job

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLet’s be honest, this isn’t for everyone as you can tell by some reviews. Yes, you need 2 capable people otherwise, don’t bother. It should take about 6 hours for the 8×8 that I got. Also, some parts may need bent to shape or just get Amazon to replace them. I was concerned with the height but it’s oki unless your like 6’2. Plus, I added extra holes on the doors for an additional hasp lock.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOrdered 8×8 shed. Fantastic value for money…
It Came and was delivered in 1 box… very heavy, but me and my son managed to take through to rear garden. Metal Sheets are very sharp so be very careful when putting together.. instructions were absolutely top notch, so easy to follow and step by step illustration kept you on the right track.. i was 2 nuts short for the handles, but luckily enough i keep things for times like these… people saying 5hrs to put up obviously are pros, took me and Mrs at least 8hrs over 2 days, (evening/morning) to erect. Fingers cut to bits… once its up its very sterdy and looks fantastic. Very disappointed in that it is not weather tight, as the rain got through parts of the roof during the night… other than that it is very good Metal shed….

1 parcel box and very heavy. Also Have box of plasters at the ready.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersOK doke, first of all, this isn’t for the first-time builder of this sort of thing, those who aren’t comfortable around the tools and hardware or a solo builder….
Now, with that said, it was definitely a good buy for me. It came bang on time, VERY intelligently packaged (very heavy but extremely compact…) and the instructions were, despite seeming complex at first, were very clear. If you stick to them, you’ll be fine.
The quality of the shed, fittings and hardware is very good, and easy to handle during the build, and gains structural strength as its put together.
Also to bear in mind, have your hard-standing level and prepped before building, it’ll make your build far simpler and it’ll also ensure all the joints and bolt holes are in alignment.
Set aside a full day, possibly two, for the build, and as said before, get some help, especially important to get things lining up.
Once assembled, it passed the waterproof test with flying colours (it’s been torrential rain and snow here for the past week… It IS Scotland after all…).
I’d recommend the Duramax whole-heartedly: sturdy, not requiring a degree in metal fabrication to build it, a great size and of great manufactural quality…
Best of luck with your build….

Great purchase, great value for money...

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe ordered the 10×10 to replace an old wooden shed because the price was very competitive for the size. To be honest we were not expecting anything fancy and when it arrived flat packed in a single cardboard box our first thought was that it would be very thin and flimsy.
Once opened it had pictorial instructions and a huge number if individual pieces that reminded us of a giant Meccano set.
The instructions were easy enough to follow though and everything fitted together exactly as shown, taking us a full day and a half to complete.
Once built the whole thing was significantly stronger and more robust than we had expected and the finished shed is of a surprisingly good quality for the cost.
    Overall we are quite impressed.
The only complaint we have is that there were not enough of the m4 nuts to complete the last couple if panels so we had to run out to the local DIY on the Sunday morning to by an extra 10 to finish the job.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersExcellent product, quite remarkable piece of design work. Ours was the 6ft x 4ft shed. The individual panels seem flimsy but as it is put together it gets stronger and stronger. Arrived in a single (quite heavy) flat pack box. 2 quite strong people are needed to carry it. It does take a long time to assemble as there are about 20 metal panels, probably around 100 screws, nuts and bolts, and you must follow the instructions to the letter (in particular noting how many screws/nuts to put in at each stage). It took two of us who are good at DIY stuff about 9 hours in total to finish it. I used two treated wooden pallets on plastic sheeting as a base which seems to be a decent solution (then covered the pallets with plywood sheets for a nice floor inside). Essential tools would be a couple of electric screwdrivers/drills with screwdriver bits (all Phillips heads) and a pair of pliers to hold the nuts whilst a friend tightens the bolts. Not much else to say, except very happy with the end result. (if you like meccano/lego/jigsaw puzzles it will actually be fun to build!)

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersSo all the reviews on here saying it’s hard to build the instructions are bad are people that expected a 600 built for you shed for 244 I built this thing in 7 hours on my own (apart from 2 bolts in the back) now I will say it would have been a lot quicker if the doors and the roof angles were not covered with the strongest adhesive film known to man but apart from that it was a breeze take your time, plan each step as you build prepare each nut and bolt as you need them and use a power screwdriver or drill. Onces it’s up it’s solid. You will probably get some cuts but it does warn you to wear gloves I didn’t for a lot of it and paid the price but that’s on me. Once built the sharp edges are trimmed up with finishing trim and the screws and bolts are capped. Oh and I built it after 5pm in December.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe shed arrived and well packed. It took my husband and 2 sons 6 hours to assemble – with some help from my daughters-in-law. I wouldn’t recommend just two people to try as at least another person is needed to hold parts and check the scanty instructions.

However the shed when finished is a really a good size and waterproof.

Would recommend using a grid to place the shed onto. We also used gravel to fill this and placed a concrete base around the sides. We also bolted the shed down, and it is not suffering in the recent high winds. Now we have installed an OCD floor and shelves it should last for a very long time.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersArrived by courier, weighs around a 100kg in one box, so make sure you ask for it to be put somewhere handy, delivery drivers more than helpful, all parts there, for the main part the instructions are pretty clear, but on occasions i feel the diagrams could be bigger with a bit more explanation, would be good to increase the size of some drawings to make it easier to see what fits where and what way around, this is definitely a two person job, mainly because of holding some of the structure and trying to fit bolts through as you cannot always reach the other side of what you are fitting to attach the nut, panels well protected some even have plastic on top to stop damage, took a complete day to put together, but to be fair i was dodging the rain showers so could take a little less, also comes with fixings to connect it to a base whether it be wood or concrete, have got a smaller metal shed that now around 8 years old and still going well, this should last just as long or more and best part there is no maintenance.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI received my duramax shed delivered by two delivery drivers on time and put in my back garden which was great as the box is VERY heavy.
I set about putting it together and the first steps of putting the metal frame for the floor is nice and quick and easy to do on your own, the rest of it you need two people you can’t do it on your own.
For ages whilst in construction the shed is really flimsy but becomes more sturdy as you go.
The parts are razor sharp and I ended up with lots of cuts as its a bit fiddly to put up with gloves on. I found the instructions ok to follow, just make sure you read them and re read them.
It took me on and off about 8 hours to complete.
For the price it’s great but it’s a bit of a task to put together so block out a fair chunk of your day.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI made sure I had a concrete shed base installed. Allow 4 – 6 hours on a nice day without any wind or rain. Ideally 3 people would be helpful, one to hold the panels the other inserting the screws and the third putting the plastic washers on the thousands of screws. I also used a cordless electric drill. The instructions are a challenge and due to the insufficient packaging some of the panels were damaged on the edges. I have given this 3 out of 5 because some of the holes didn’t line up, the instructions could have been formatted better and the roof was a nightmare because without scaffolding its very difficult to get the screws in at the roof pitch point.

Good price for the 10×8. We noticed the manual said 8 hours to build, to be fair it is, its all the screws. Actually the screws are okay, it’s the fiddly little bolts and there’s lots of them too.
Almost built ours and very happy with it so far. We already had a slab base.
It really helps to have 2 people as can be a bit fiddly. Also wear gloves, I didn’t and cut my fingers on the edges as very sharp, but my own fault as it does say too.
The instructions are very good and easy to follow, it takes you through every step.
You have a warranty for 15 years.
I don’t like the colour so I’m going to paint it next year.
4 because it’s worth every penny. Would have been 5 Star if there weren’t hundreds of screws and bolts.
Came well packaged and in a small tightly packed box. You can’t lift it as its heavy so carried the parts through bit by bit, took only 10 minutes.
If you are looking for a budget metal shed, I highly recommend and may buy another.

First off. I am NOT DIY inclined. However I managed to put the 8ft x 8ft shed together pretty well on my own. I did need help with the roof. It took me longer than I had hoped as a lot of the assembly is putting washers with screws etc. Also working out all the numbered parts. Once that is sorted it makes life easier.

Have to say I am happy with the shed. There is no way it is ever coming down though so if I leave this house the shed stays.

It is strong. Well put together! The majority of the instructions are easy to follow.

It looks good! And am very pleased with it and would recommend the product.

Couple of tips. Dont try and build it on a windy day. Get all the various parts into some sort of order!

  29. Anonymous says:

    Finished product is great
    On the plus side:
more than required number of screws, bolts, nuts etc supplied.
    Easy to follow instructions
Lightweight panels which makes lifting easy
Relatively easy to manoeuvre once complete into the final position for fixing to the base
All but 8 holes lined up, although some needed a little encouragement
    Really good value for money
    On the minus side:
Had to drill 8 holes which didn’t line up
Very sharp edges – use gloves or spill blood
Some panels had a protective covering ( which is good), but it took some effort to peel off

Overall it took 2 of us 12 hours start to finish including checking all the parts before we started, which took about an hour due to my OCD needing to count all the screws bolts and nuts.
You will need 2 people as the panels are quite flimsy until they are attached to the top frame.
We used an Ecodeck base and then attached 18mm ply board as a base to attached the shed to.
Overall really pleased, and would happily recommend

This arrived quickly, but as it comes in 1 box it’s very heavy. This needs sorting as the 2 delivery guys who looked well built , really struggled to move it, even with a trolley.
Once I started to put it up which took 2 weeks on and off. The book is very thick and the instructions are very clear . Please be aware this shed isn’t fully square.
I built a wooden base before starting but for some reason it wouldn’t fit flush,
I had great trouble trying to fix the rood on as the holes wouldn’t line up.
I ended up unscrewing the ground screws and now it sits at an angle as the roof really wouldn’t go on when it was flush. You also need to be quite tall to finish the roof as you have to lean from the outside to the middle of the roof.
The doors on mine don’t close properly as there’s A gap at the top so it’s not water proof.
It’s cheap for a shed and it looks like it will last despite the problem I’ve had.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersCouldn’t afford a large wooden shed so looked at the reviews and this one stood out. Ordered and was delivered by a 2 person team from Amazon (75kg i believe so you wont move this box much).
The box that arrives you look at it and cant imagine a shed could be in it, other than by the weight.

The day before we laid some slabs around what would be the where the shed will sit on (using the manual online) and then created a wooden frame (to screw the shed onto and raise it off the ground) using 45mm high by 90mm ensuring the outside edge of the wood lines up with the outside of shed as you don’t want rain running onto the wood. At the front of the shed where the door will be you will need something wider wood wise as there is a ramp for the door and this is wider that the rest of the shed so needs supporting.
So the weekend arrived and we started at 10am with the build… you need 3 people ideally, two to hold the bits together as you start to assemble. The bottom bars and side panels are fairly easy to do but no less time consuming due to the amount of screws and bolts that have to be used (make sure you dont do when its windy).
We then started on the upper frame and roof bars, these are slightly trickier but again patience and a bit of moving about to ensure you havent got a twisted stucture, which is easy to happen until you have everything but the roof on and you can shift it slightly about to ensure its straight.
Next the roof, starting at one end on one side it a bit more difficult and you will need some decent steps to reach and secure to the top roof bar. Lining up is important and if it doesnt line up go back a step an check the previous roof sheet as if the little holes at the end of the roof panels dont line up you will have an issue putting the final parts on.
The other side of the roof is slightly hard and you need to add some silver tape down the join as you put them on. The tape could be wider and better and you may want to use something better but if not it will do. Again lining up is vital and it can take a while to complete this part. The the top metal cover over the join has to be put together and screwed down. This was a pain as its not the best design and could have been made better as once part with less gap under it to let in any possibly rain. This is where the tape that was used on the join will be the 2nd defence so its important that was put on correctly. Screwing in the middle screws on the roof on this part is also a but tricky unless you have some high steps and someone to keep you steady.
That was the end of the first day at 7.30pm. We started the 2nd day at 10am on the doors and once done the doors are fairly easy to put together and then that just leaves the plastic edging of the roof to tidy it up.
Then put the doors in and you will then know if you are truly straight with your build as the rail will need to be inline on the base for the doors to slide correctly. Then you need to build a floor inside, now you dont have to but then you risk damp or rain getting under the shed. I went for 18mm OSB at around 20 a sheet and you will need 2 of those if getting 2.4×1.2m or you could using decking wood and created a decking floor inside. For both plus some 45x45mm wood to create the supports for the floor.
After all that it was done and i’m knackered but it was worth the build. A nice looking shed that hopefully will be still up far longer than the other wooden once i have in the garden.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersFirstly, the instruction booklet is huge and poorly designed – after assembling certain parts and turning the page you then realise you’ve jumped ahead and need to un-assemble it in order to get to the next stage. It’s worth looking through the whole booklet before attempting to start.
The panels when unboxed are very lightweight – mine were blowing about in a mild breeze. Once assembled though the structure was rigid enough. I managed to assemble the shed on my own (which provoked a LOT of swearing and frustration) – it is definitely a two person job. Some parts are physically impossible to do single handed – tightening nuts and bolts in the panels requires a person on each side of the panel. You will also need a step-ladder to be able to reach any of the roof panel fixings.
Because of the lightweight nature of the shed this will need to be anchored to the ground to prevent it moving in strong winds. I had to increase the height by building it on a 2″ timber frame – the doorway is not very big !
Overall a frustrating experience to build but once finished it definitely looks like a more expensive shed than it is and is adequate for storing non valuable items. There is no way to securely lock the doors because the handles are plastic and an average person would have no trouble pulling them, or the entire door, off – i cannot stress enough that this is very lightweight.
The review may come across as negative but i am actually very pleased with the end product – i had no allusions that a sub 200 metal shed would be anything but what it is.
Final afterthought – it is not possible to install any kind of shelving or fixtures directly to the shed walls and there is no sub-frame to utilise.
It took me 6 hours to assemble

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersBought this 10×10 shed almost a year ago but have only recently got it built, picked it up for 260 in the 2019 Prime day sale. good price and wouldn’t get a wooden one of the same size for that money.

Pros: Looks great and plenty of space, sturdy once complete.
Cons: Low ceiling, Flimsy doors, plastic handles, Leaks, requires a base

First off waterproof the base before screwing in the frame using about 5 inches of waterproof membrane around the edge of the base, screw the frame into the middle leaving about 2 inches either side, on the inside of the frame go round it with 1″ wood framing and staple the membrane to it to create a barrier otherwise water coming off the roof will leak right under the frame and create puddles on the floor.

Don’t be surprised the roof leaks, apply silicone sealant along the joins and a dab where the screws go into the roof struts, you might want to do this on the inside as well.

The peak of the roof is closed up using the supplied silver tape, i done a rubbish job of it and now all the leaves and other debris from the nearby tree blow straight into the shed, I’m going to remedy this with expandable foam into the peak to fill the gaps.

You may need to drill your own holes, sometimes the pre drilled holes don’t match up.

The doors are just a single sheet of galvanized steel you could open with a tin opener, i recommend reinforcing the panels with the leftover OSB sheets you got for the base.

The door handles are little flimsy plastic things held on with 2 bolts, recommend getting a sturdy hasp and staple lock.

I wouldn’t store anything valuable in this shed.

Including the costs for the base I’d have been better buying a wooden shed so take that into consideration before buying.

Survived the gale force winds of a Scottish spring no problem.

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersIts a shed, well what can be said?!
Well first of all this is not just any shed, this is a metal shed and as such means no hassle painting it every year, this has to be the main perk of these things, it saves an awful lot of time in the long run and in all honesty its not that expensive for that it is, Its not bad value for money although i did notice that the price seems to vary every week or two for some odd reason!! Maybe worth watching it for a bit first to see if it drops 😉

Construction wise, this shed was an absolute nightmare to put up, and that is coming from an expert flat pack builder who loves ikea!! There are large diagrams to follow and its broken down in simple to do steps, my main issue was however that sometimes they were not always clear and in one part, the diagram was drawn so the bracket faced the wrong way, so we get two thirds of the way through it and have to reassemble some parts as the bracket was facing the wrong way!!My advice would be to not follow the diagrams religiously like we tried to, i was worried about it all being incorrect so religiously followed the lot…. well until the point we realised the beams were drawn the wrong way around!! Use your initiative and dont be too reliant. The parts are really well labelled and easy to find – and there are a fair few of them!! The steel beams/silver parts are embossed with the code so you may have to tilt it to the light to see the code. The rest of the codes are stickered on…..When built is seems sturdy enough and overall size is pretty good, a little low to enter so if you are tall, mind your head 😉 but it does the job and it looks good……..

    Pro’s …..
good price for what size it is
    sturdy enough
lightweight enough to build without he-man or she-ra
    looks good
    no yearly painting
comes with a 5 year guarantee against rust etc
has ventilation to keep things dampness free!!

    Negatives

The edges of the metal are SHARP, and i mean sharp enough to cut through gloves unless you are wearing thick rigger type gloves, so PLEASE invest in a pair before attempting to put the shed up (i have a small scar as proof, a mate has a matching one and the hubby has a large one that had to be glued as a reminder too, and i was wearing gloves!!!)

The roof is a disaster zone attempting to do!! Following the instructions you put the roof on panel by panel, which is great and easy to do although reaching over to get the screws in the center was a bit chaotic. The main issue came with the fact that there is some waterproof taping you get to run along the seam of the central joins /peak of the roof, this is vital and it will leak without it!! Only thing is you have to lean across the roof to get to it and run it along the length of the roof, this was a nightmare as we were not tall enough, and resulted in a ladder having to be used in an l shape for safety and the shed getting dented at almost every position we used…. A few of the holes didn’t match up either, when you are up a ladder and are having to pull the whole side of a shed roof to align things its a little scary haha!!

We had a mismatch of screws!!!! For some odd reason we were given a large bag of screws we only needed a few of and nowhere near enough bolts that we actually needed, check your amounts first guys!! It cost us almost an extra 10 in bolts…… and that was without anchor bolts which you will also need to buy- 10 a box of 50 at screwfix…..dewalt- they are brilliant !!

No way is this shed easy to assembly in a short time, it takes about an hour to get all the bits out and sort them out into piles etc …. we did it over a few days, we had kids helping – teenagers, dont worry who always had gloves etc on! to hold things up else i think it would have took longer, if you can afford to hire someone to build it i recommend you do unless you have alot of patience or have time to do it all in a day or so!!I wish i had done!!

Handles are plastic and not that strong, thick plastic but still, security wise i would buy a hasp and a good padlock as added security if you are storing valuables in it.

Overall it looks good bar the dents in the roof >< and it is a good size and for the money you are going to struggle to get alot better, the fact that it is metal is a huge advantage as maintenance is going to be kept at a minimal,no rot to worry about and a 5 year guarantee is good although the fact that it is an american firm may cause issues or high shipping costs lol!! for the money that it costs you are going to struggle to get anything else as good to be honest, and we had looked! But check your parts etc before you start to build it, insure it isnt a return which is what i am suspecting mine was and all will be ok 🙂
