Great quality washes hands well and leaves clean. Doesn’t irritate my skin and washes hands well. Easy to refill and lasts a while. Not tested on animals which people should try to support and not too expensive either.
Nice product, feels and smells nice. For some reason my pump won’t fit this bottle, I buy a lot of 5 litre containers and have always used the same pump but not in this one so it’s a bit annoying
I find the soap is a little slimy but that just means the kids have the make more effort to wash it (and the germs) off their hands, which isn’t a bag thing!
This is much better hand-wash than anything else available. Buying in bulk makes really good sense, refilling can be a little bit messy but the effort is worth it, we always use this.
There are only the two of us, plus occasional visitors, and one of these lasts us 18 months. Much better and more hygenic than bars of soap, much easier to use from a dispenser. Being free of parabens and the like is a big positive.
I wanted to be more exp friendly and responsible when purchasing my consumables, this allows me to do that. The scent is lovely and doesn’t dry my hands out like some soaps. The bottle is big enough that I can fill up my dispensers a few times before needing another bottle so all in all a lot cheaper than buying single refill bottles. I would buy again.
Not quite ready to make the transition to solid soap only yet, so this is a great alternative to try and keep plastic usage down. Cap is very clever so it’s easy to fill up soap dispensers without making a mess. Smells amazing!
My review is based on previous use – and it is great. I find with ordinary bars of soap that the sink can get yucky – but that never happens with this liquid hand wash. Buying the 5L refills is an economic way to buy this. There are other liquid hand wash soaps out there, but you know with Ecover that you are using something that is not environmentally harmful. Again, there are other brands that meet this criteria, but we have always used Ecover, and are happy with it.
Eco brands selling liquid soap is a bit of a misfit for me. As you’re basically shipping water around the country by truck. Bar soaps are obviously the best when it comes to eco credentials, especially when most are wrapped in paper not plastic. That said, I do get why people prefer liquid. Especially as I live with one of those people and she is very vocal about this and many other subjects. So lecture over, if you are going to buy liquid soap, and you do care about the environment, this is a great option. It’s minimum packaging, as it’s a refill for a dispenser, and the packaging is a rigid plastic, so 100% recyclable (unlike those flexible pouch refills). The soap’s pretty good too, smells nice, is quite thick and foams well too.
I’m a big fan of ecover products because I like the ethos and the quality. I’m so pleased to be able to buy refills and reduce plastic waste.
This lavender hand wash is lovely. I find the scent is just right and certainly smells a lot more expensive than the price.
I have sensitive skin and other brands make my hands go red and crack. I’ve never had any issues with this hand wash despite the amount of washing we are doing these days.
Needs a tap hole, like the detergent packs so that you can place a stop tap in it to make it easier to decant from.
Scent is heavenly.
Overpriced. 5 cheaper and I’d be a lot happier, as Ecover have been selling this product a long time so in theory products that sell well should get cheaper over time. I’ve found some great alternatives, so not sure I will buy another especially now more and more companies are going organic.
I didn’t want us to continue buying the throw away plastic 250ml plastic bottles so bought a good dispenser and 5L of the ecover hand wash. We were using the standard blue stuff bought from most big stores which worked fine but this ecover product is much better not just for the environment but the feel on the hands is also much nicer. It feels smoother and although more expensive we have found that you don’t need to use as much to get a good lather on the hands. The lavender smell is quite pleasant as well. So it probably isn’t going to cost us much more as we use less for each hand wash, but I feel a lot better that we are not adding to the plastic mountain as much as before: not a 100 percent plasticless solution but a lot better than chucking away 20 smaller bottles. We will look to buy this again – but it won’t be for some time as 5L lasts a long time.
