Good length to get around. Allows party chat to be heard also. Good produc
it is very handy for those who play multiplayer games and want to record from there Console too.
Streaming from PS5 and capturing your audio to your in game chat was always an issue but this inexpensive wire works wonders. Now the stream can hear voice chat between my partner and his team mates, which if running through OBS and not directly from PS5 was an issue.
I have read lots of reviews / comments and forums saying this wire doesn’t last long, the materials etc aren’t as well built as could be. He hasn’t used it for very long and works fine at the moment, but I will update my review if it changes. But if it is something you are needing then I would highly recommend this product 🙂
Does exactly what its intended to do, don’t be tempted but cheap imitations, this works as it should when it should with no drama.
Audio captured is clear on streaming software and the party chat is captured a treat.
Headsets can also work at the same time, making this the best option!
Could be cheaper as its over priced but thats the usual with elgato’s stuff. Works a treat!
Lets you take sound from the controller of your Dualshock 4 controller to be fed to your capture card while still being able to plug in your headphones. The isolator switch does a great job of getting rid of that awful hum the original had if the pad was on charge while in use.
I use this to record videos on my Xbox. This device enables me to record my own audio along with my friends in the party’s audio and the game. To be clear; I use a capture card to capture gameplay/audio BUT without this I can’t record my own voice aswell as everything else. I use it for my Xbox Series S but I know it works for Series X and Xbox One. I cannot comment on PlayStation I’m afraid.
And when they found out they needed an Elgato one, take it from me cheap ones do not work period.
Now finally 6 years later they bring out an update in both quality, and an extra bit of tech, to stop buzzing when your charging the controller at the same time, due to earthing problems.
I also can confirm this to works.
But more importantly I think is I had many problems trying to get my party to be hard on my stream, but even I was a touched surprised to see yet again it just worked, perfectly.
So all in all, I know Elgato are stupid expensive on all there goods but to be honest this again is a must buy if you need party chat on your stream through controller.
In preparation for the PS5, I have been setting up my equipment for capturing gameplay for my newly created gaming channel on YouTube. When I learnt that my USB PS gold headset would not allow me to hear audio whilst capturing on the 4K60 s+, I spoke to Elgato technical support who recommended purchasing the chat link cable, connecting my wired Astro 40TR into the female port of the cable, the 3.5mm jack into my dualshock controller and the other end in the line in port on the capture card.
This would enable the 4K60 s+ to capture both audio and video via HDMI as well as allow me to hear in-game audio through my headset! I can confirm that this worked perfectly and no drop in audio quality in my headset nor recording.
I used the 4K Capture Untility on a 2017 Macbook Pro booted up in Windows (16GB RAM with 4GB dedicated Radeon graphics card) to preview, as well as capture gameplay in HEVC H.265. This was tested on a 2013 PS4 base model console and from information available online and on Elgato site, this should easily work on the PS4Pro and PS5 consoles.
I hope this helps someone out there, who similar to myself was worried about things going sideways!
It’s unfortunate that we need this to record PlayStation audio however once you buy it, it works a charm. I’ve had no issues since other than the extra cable getting in the way but it’s a price you have to pay with going for the elgato!
(You only need this if you want to play PS4 and record gameplay audio with a aux headset plugged into the controller.)
FINALLY I can stream my gameplay audio, party chat audio AND wear my headset. For what it is, I do believe that the cable is a little expensive but I feel like they can set the price as I didn’t want to gamble on an alternative.
The cable is rather thick, and is a little heavy, especially when you’re used to wireless gaming.
All in all, I think the cable could be better designed, but it is perfect for what it’s made for.
This product is the perfect solution to the problem all you have to do is plug it in as instructed and everything works brilliantly just make sure to change the audio source in the capture card app to analog rather then HDMI and your set to stream!
My only complaint about the product is you can’t charge your controller at the same time as streaming otherwise it will make a high pitched sound in your ears and on the stream. This isn’t the sellers fault its because the device is picking up the sound of the charge going through the controller so make sure to charge your controller before the stream! Otherwise I highly recommend this product!!
This is good to use for streaming, it helps the stream hear the party chat on xbox/Ps. I’ve had an issue though where it will keep making a whistling sound in my headset and I’ll have to rotate the aux in the controller to fix this. Had to buy a second one just in case the first one went. but thankfully the first one still work as of (22/01/2020)
It Worked straight out of the box, it got delivered next day as promised, only 2 issues, 1 is that it makes a buzzing sound with whatever headphones I wear but you learn to ignore it after a while, 2 it could be a little lighter as it pulls which I think is creating the buzzing sound mentioned in issue 1, other than that it’s definitely great to be recording and capturing all sound and glad I didn’t go for a 3rd party option this time. 🙂
The first couple times I used it people in my ps4 party said that the quality of my mic lowered however it is fine now so that might be a bug ?? But it is good quality, okay price, could be a bit cheaper, the length of cable is far enough away that you don’t have to worry about anything (I sit at a desk but if your someone that plays from the other end of your room or from your bed then you might have troubles) But over all a good product and recommend if you have an elgato and you record from your ps4.
Decent but some headsets don’t work with it, I’ve connected it all up you can hear party chat but not my voice, the headset I have doesn’t seem to wanna have any joy picking my voice up
Exactly what I needed. I’m a YouTuber always streaming games and other sorts of entertainment, and because I use elgato as my main software choice, I needed something that would connect my party chat to my streams so that everyone could hear the conversations. This bitof kit works perfectly and is made specifically for that task. Arrived quickly and all in good order.
Not an awful lot to say about this product.
it took a LONG time to be delivered BUT it’s not on PRIME so that’s not an issue.
It’s a good quality cable which is needed to record sound on the Elgato for PS4.
So it’s a necessity which means you will need it regardless
Though it’s low in cost makes it great in the event it breaks in the future.
I’ve had no issues with mine.
I have found this an extremely useful addition to my streaming setup, it connects effortlessly into my HD 60 and from there straight in to any headset, including the in line mic that came with my PS4. Sound quality is superb with the OBS software I’m using, and I’d recommend this to anyone wishing to make use of a streaming setup 🙂
Product is a genuine elgato lead elgato still the best product on the market for sound or audio capture works was expected although the jack is a little long that connects to the control pad
What can I say? This product is amazing and very helpful, I am currently using this to record videos and use my headset at the same time and it’s been an absolute lifesaver.
However one thing to note down is when using this with the ps4 moving the end connected to the controller can cause interference on the sound this can sometimes be a pain when recording, even saying that it’s not been a massive impact and you will rarely notice it.
Great product and 5 stars from me.
A bit confusing at first, you can’t use a play and charge kit with it, with that being said it works precisely how they said it works. It was a good buy at the time and can still be useful depending on your needs. The audio quality is still good however you will find it is slightly lower quality than if you recorded normally.
It’s good quality and easy to set up and use.
For PS4 users you still require this cable to record voices and as I said at the begging of this review, it works perfectly for recording all sounds from your headset, just make sure you select “use analogue audio” in the Elgato software.
Great cable. Works well within the elgato software.
Only con I have of this product is that it send a static sound through the headset and while recording.
Is there a way to fix that?
