I’m really impressed with this varnish. Application was easy due to the good size brush, so painted on with ease. Love the colour too so all in all very happy with this varnish.
Absolutely gorgeous red with a subtle elegant shimmer. I almost always get compliments when wearing this. Glad to find it here on Amazon as it has proven difficult to find in stores.
I absolutely love the color. It applies nicely, and dries quickly between coats. Lasts long enough that I eventually have to take it off because it’s grown out. I’ll buy this over and over again.
Application is very easy thanks to the twisted brush. The colour really is durable however take a tiny bit longer to dry than normal polish but is to be expected
My skin tone is similar to Naomi Campbell and inside scoop colour looks really pretty. It’s a translucentish light pink thay flatters the skin.
I have long healthy natural nails and use a top and base coat. See pictures attached
Really good price and great shine nails still chipped after 2 days and I followed instructions no base coat 2 separate coats of polish before applying glad I got cheeper will look for something that stops chipping
As a plumber my nails are always getting chipped and broken. Out of all the topcoats I’ve tried, this one works the best by far. Long lasting and quick drying. I’ve been buying it relentlessly for years!
This is a sheer paler bubble gum/Barbie pink colour…I found this needs at least 3 coats, but dries very quickly. I don’t use a base or top coat with light colours like this. Fairy tailor #50, bought recently lasted 5 days. I’ll see how long this one lasts. Very pleased with this gel range!
Best top coat I have used in a while. Dries hard similarly to gel and lasts a while. Works over Essie gel couture, normal Essie polishes and other non-essie polishes and all worked well!
I recently bought the Essie Gel Couture Longlasting High Shine Nail Polish in the shade “Fairy Tailor” for my daughter and I must say, she is quite impressed with the results. This sheer nude pink color is absolutely stunning and adds a touch of elegance to my nails.
One of the standout features of this nail polish is its long-lasting formula. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it stayed on my nails without chipping or fading for several days. It definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of longevity, and I appreciate not having to touch up my manicure frequently.
The application of this nail polish is a breeze. The brush is wide and flat, which allows for easy and precise application. The formula itself is smooth and goes on evenly without streaks. I only needed two coats to achieve the desired opacity, which is impressive for a sheer shade like “Fairy Tailor.”
I also love the high shine finish this nail polish provides. It gives my nails a glossy, salon-like appearance without the need for a UV lamp. The shine lasts throughout the wear, making my nails look polished and well-maintained.
Another aspect that I appreciate about the Essie Gel Couture line is the drying time. It dries relatively quickly, which is great for someone like me who is always on the go and doesn’t have much time to spare for nail drying.
The 13.5ml bottle size is generous, and a little goes a long way with this nail polish. I have been using it for a few weeks now, and there is still plenty of product left in the bottle.
Overall, I highly recommend the Essie Gel Couture Longlasting High Shine Nail Polish in the shade “Fairy Tailor” to anyone who loves sheer, nude pink shades with a touch of sophistication. The long-lasting formula, easy application, high shine finish, and generous bottle size make it a great investment for beautiful nails.

I hadn’t done my nails since pre-pandemic, just couldn’t be asked to get the gel kit & UV lamp out. Then I discovered this topcoat & nail polish combo and I love it. I’ve never been able to go more than a day or two without needing to change out my polish due to chips (unless I had a gel kit with a lamp).
I purchased this top coat & paint the town red and on my first go, lasted 4 days before lightly chipping on my index fingers (admitted was using them as tools), so possibly if I’m good and careful will go longer.
I’ve just purchased another colour. No instructions were included which was a pain, but I did a quick google search and this is what I found:
1 – Clean the nail with nail polish remover (no base coat necessary)
2 – Apply one or two coats of colour (I apply two and on my second attempt I painted the tips first then applied two coats of colour – hopefully will take longer to chip)
3 – Apply top coat
I’ve also been told that applying topcoat every day helps with longevity, but I’ve not tried & I don’t like the thick feeling of multiple topcoats.
I’ve read some bad reviews, but many seem to be applying the product incorrectly or using it with different brands or other Essie polishes. I’ve always found that when using nail polishes, especially gel type ones it’s best to follow instructions to the letter (hence lack of is a bit annoying) and use the topcoats and polish from the same ‘set’ for best results.
The brush isn’t twisted like the photo and is too short for the bottle.
However, this is the BEST top coat I’ve ever used. I’ve had it on a week and it has the smallest chip at the tip of the nail, hardly noticeable. It feels really smooth and is super shiny. Almost like a gel look but not quite.
I pair it with an Essie polish which I found by itself didn’t chip for 2-3 days, and then under that I use the opi nail envy. So all products combined, I get over a weeks wear!

Honest review here guys. I bought this because of the 1000 + 4.4 star ratings. I have waited to review this after trying this shade of essie “fairy tailor” Colour goes on great. If you want a natural look apply one coat. I ended up needing to buy barry m clear base coat which made the first coat of the essie dry quicker and look more like a shellac. I then applied a 2nd coat of this colour to get a more opaque look. You gotta let this dry for aaaages, at least 30 minuted otherwise, you guessed it, smudge smudge smuuudge! Then I applied the essie clear topcoat. I think thw top coat just gives a finished shellac look and yes takes ages to dry. I wish I bought a nail hardening top coat from a different bramd instead!!! Wasted my money with that thing. Anyhow this lasts for only 2-3 days and that’s with me only showering and wearing gloves to do the miniscule amount of washing up each day since I own a dishwasher. Overall I haven’t found essie to be worth the money AT ALL. I used rimmel brit manicure years ago and that lasted ages. The moral of the story is to save your money and buy a cheaper well known brand. Barry M has never let me down nor rimmel/maybelline.
I ordered this after working on growing my natural nails after being horrified with their condition after many years of attaching gel to my nails. It’s taken months to try and restore my nails and get a little length, but even now they are still recovering. So I finally decided to order a nail polish in a colour I’ve tried to find for some time. Having ordered this, it gave a slightly longer (just by days) delivery time, so I went to the shops and bought a very well known (and expensive) brand consisting of 3 letters! Having applied this, I was really surprised that within a day or two my nails were chipped despite putting on a top coat over the colour! When the Essie nail polish arrived, I removed the other brand and tried this one out for the first time. I’d also used the Essie top coat and have to say I was impressed. It looked good and over a week later, hadn’t chipped. When I removed it, it was easy to remove and when re-painted, again looked fresh and professional. So I am happy to have discovered Essie. will definitely be ordering it again and would highly recommend it.
