How does Eve Cam detect motion and trigger recordings?
Eve Cam features a dedicated infrared motion sensor to trigger motion alerts, automations and recordings.
Not able to add Eve Cam to your home?
Please make sure that DHCP is enabled on your router. Authentication via MAC addresses must be deactivated. WPA2 must be activated. After adjusting any settings, please restart your router and wait a few of minutes. Afterwards, please reset Eve Cam.

This works well, in addition to being easy to set up
I have this as part of my home security set up. So far I’ve been using Logitec cameras, but I’ve found their customer support was horrific and when their products failed I was just dismissed. I have a few other Eve products already (contact sensors and smart plugs), so figured I’d try their camera!
So far, it’s my favourite one I have at home. It rarely drops connection (unlike its competitors), and it’s night vision is better than any other too. It has super rapid response times when working in HomeKit for HSV and looks less intrusive than a lot of its other competitors.
Looks wise, it’s smart, but does feel a little cheaper construction wise, especially as it doesn’t have a fixed power cord which is one big negative, however, it’s a small minor in the grand scheme of things. Also, it has a handy built in magnet to the base which is really strong and gives more mounting options which I love.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend. So far, been worth the money, unlike some of the others I already have from other brands.
Super easy set up through the Apple home, picture is great and a great way too keep an eye on my dog while away from home.
Brilliant. I love gadgets and have so many HomeKit enabled products. Love this camera – does everything you need it to but for me, the built in privacy features are so important. No other camera has this level of privacy and that alone made it work the extra few quid. Great collaboration between Eve and Apple here – totally recommend.
But it seems well made and uploads video to iCloud when a trigger event occurs. Mine is set to wake when I’m out of the house, and go dormant when I get back. My iPhone and Watch get notifications when it starts and stops.
No complaints, apart from the price (otherwise I’d give it 5*)
I bought Nest cams as soon as they came out. I was waiting for a long time for a wired HomeKit compatible camera to replace them. This ticks all the boxes. Great bit of kit. Just need an outdoor version now!
So I looked for a camera that had privacy built in with no rip off subscription model and Eve wins on this front.
All your data and recorded footage is kept on your iCloud account nothing is sent to Eve.
The set up is easy: download the Eve app, scan your camera QR code and 30 seconds later your up and running.
You can then manage your camera in the Eve app or the Apple Home app.
For one camera you need to be on the 200GB icloud package and for 2-5 cameras you need the 2TB iCloud one.
The camera footage is clear and quick to switch to when you get a notification, generally about a 4 second delay from clicking on the notification to being able to watch the recorded footage.
Also watching live has a delay of at most 0.5 seconds but normally it’s real time, no other IP camera is quicker.
The microphone is clear and you can hear anything in the room the camera is in.
The speaker is also loud and clear, however to use it you need to be in the Eve app.
Best of all…..all of this functionality is free with the camera, there is no pay barrier or rip off subscription. Literally buy the camera(s) and your set. The only additional cost is the iCloud storage but I don’t know anyone that is not already on 200gb so that’s enough for one camera.
All in all, top notch privacy and function, plus with IOS14 adding in area notification (you can set the area the camera will monitor) this camera has it all.
