Fantasy Flight Games FFGTY07 Hey That's My Fish

Let them eat fish.

Hey, That’s My Fish! is infinitely re-playable. The sixty hexagonal tiles that each display one to three fish are used to randomly construct the board, which will have your penguins travelling a differently shaped path every game. As you hone your strategy with every new map, will the icy shapes lead to your demise or will you claim victory?

Only disadvantage is the time it takes to tessilate the tiles each game.

Super fun and easy to learn. The game is quite small too, so its easy to take with you on day trips or nights away. I often take this with me as its a nice, chilled and quick game to play.

Although this game is marketed more at younger children it is extremely fun for adults too, the aim of the game is to maroon the other players penguins, because of this it can become very competitive

I like this game, it’s good fun to play and it is not complicated to learn how to play.
I liked it so much I bought it for my sister.

Bought as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law. They really enjoyed playing it.

We have played this several times with 9 and 5 year old grandchildren, and it is good fun. If you want to, you can consider strategy. Recommended!

Very fun game to play with all 4 players, doable with 2 but more players = more mayhem. Could easily double up game with more people if each player is assigned a specific penguin. Simple to learn and quick to play, 10 minutes or less per game. Gives good laughs and easy to set up and put away. Would prefer to pay a little less considering game has very little components. Item delivered quickly and in tact.

I have already owned this game and bought for a friend… they loved it.

Would be great if you could get a fancier version with better pieces, but excellent for the price

I already loved them game. We bought it as a present for family of 4. They loved. I showed them how to play, we had 3 games and I think the parents enjoyed more than the kids. They sent subsequent texts to me of them having played more games. It is awesome fun.

Takes a while to set it all up, but good fun once there. Bought it to play with my five year old and we both enjoy it.

Fun game for adults and kids, more tactical than you’d think considering the premise. Main issue is it is a pain setting up the play board as the tiles are a bit fiddly.

Quick and fun game about trying to cut off or block your opponents. Easy to play and lots of fun for most ages. My only slight gripe is setting it up takes a little while but nothing too serious and worth it.

This is a particular favourite of my kids and we get it out to play regularly.

It’s got a lot of character and is very easy to teach, but has some strategic planning involved and a bit of good sums practice at the end.

Be warned though – there are ways to play that can set the other players up to fail, and you may find yourself separating two arguing children like drunks at 2am because one trapped the other on an ice floe in the corner.

This is a really cute little game that I think even smaller children would be able to understand. you control a set of penguins and move about on the ice collecting fish, and trying not to get isolated. who ever collects the most fish wins. it’s super enjoyable but can be a tiny bit fiddly at times.

Great quick family game for the young and the not quite so young!
There is a bit of strategy in this one but as it is a quick little game you won’t mind if you loose. There is a little bit of “take that” and that can be quite funny…….when it’s not you!

The name of the game is to collect more fish than anyone else. Every piece of ice you leave melts, so the grid of ice gets small quickly.

This is a decent enough game for the kids to pick up and play. It encourages a bit of forward thinking/strategy also as you can trap the other penguins if you plan it well enough.

I have a copy of the game personally and it is a great little, quick, strategy game.

I bought this for a penguin lover and boardgamer.

This is a breeze to play, not massively challenging but there’s definitely times you have to think carefully.

It’s fun to play with youngsters too, but the setup is the only real issue I have, this is a good one for a few rounds at a time.

The pieces are good quality and compact, and the rules seem simple enough on paper but haven’t got round to playing yet as its more of a rainy day preparation for the family to get everyone away from screens and interact around a table.

Awesome little game. Not sure how much longevity it has but its good fun. Becomes very vindictive once you start trying to fence your opponents penguins onto their own little islands. Clever dynamic.

Great 2 to 4 player gamer, due to its simple and quick setup and immediately comprehensible rules, which require no learning or memorisation. Fantastic door opening family game, quick to play, great fun, also strategic.

A wonderful family game for 2-4 players. It’s quick to set up, quick to teach and quick to play and as such can keep children’s interest for a while. We often play 4 games within the space of an hour.

The object of the game is simple: collect more fish than your opponents! Once the play area is set up, players take turns in placing their coloured penguin token on a 1 Fish tile. Once all penguins are placed, the first player takes their turn by moving one of their penguins from one tile to another, removing the tile they just left and adding the value of the fish on that tile to their score. The game continues until there are no tiles left. Whoever has the most fish at the end wins!

The box is small enough that you can take it just about anywhere, and the game itself doesn’t take up much room when all the tiles are placed so it’s ideal for travelling. The components are a but on the small side, but very well made.

In all, Hey That’s My Fish is an excellent example of a family board game, and I doubt you’ll find a better one for the price.

Behind the fun exterior, this is actually really quite a strategic game – & potentially a brutal one! Luckily I can still beat my 7-year-old most of the time, but when I played it with a mate he thrashed me consistently. No dice, no randomness; it reminds me of chess, though the emphasis is on defining & annexing territories rather than dominating a shared space. Excellent for 6-60.

Bought this as had good amazon reviews. We are a game playing family and my 5 year old and 8 year old both enjoy this simple tactic game. Great introduction into strategies, quick play time so always time for 2 games. Add bonus of practice of times tables and simple additions if you want!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAs others have days this is definitely a fun game. Crucially it’s a child friendly strategy game, which is a difficult balance to strike. So that’s a big plus. However the pieces are a bit too small. If can be tricky finding a suitable surface to play on – larger heavier pieces would be better. Frankly this almost feels like a “travel version”. In fairness the price is fine for what you get, but I would rather pay a bit more for better parts. I’ve seen pictures of a Deluxe version which looks MUCH better but presumably that’s now out of print as prices are silly.

A quick tip is to put a small blog of blue tak in the box, as this makes for a much easier way to pick up tiles from the middle of the play area.

Very simple to learn, minimal rules, but strategies can be as complicated as you wish. Bought for my nine-year old nephew and went down well with both him and the grown-ups.
