Makes paper into confetti so very secure shredding. Very quiet to use too.
Very robust, shreds paper smaller with the cross cut blades. The blades are a lot tougher than my previous shedder. I like the way it has a slight overrun to clear blades after each use. I don’t think I will need to replace as soon but, would recommend buy this brand again.
Great shredder for a small business, limited with only 6sheets per shred though
I can’t get excited about this but it is an efficient little shredder suitable for our household needs.
othing to dislike. performs efficiently and comparatively quietly. easy to use and empty
I like the shredder it has been very easy to use and is so quiet.
Does tend to over heat so don’t do too much at once perfect for small amounts
Works well. Only criticism is that it is top heavy and very easy to knock over mess everywhere. Put it out of the way and shred away!
Excellent item to have in any home office. The collection bucket feels a bit flimsy though.
Overall the shredder is great, basket a bit on the smaller side but it shreds a lot quieter than other brands Iv had.
Bought this expecting it to be brand new & it came through with shredded paper in the blades, asked for replacement & got the same again.
It shreds great, even credit cards, I have no moans about that, but I wish I didn’t have to oil it, my old one never needed oiling. Also it would have been better if it had some sort of handle (s) as moving it is a bit awkward, especially if your fingers don’t work too good.
This shredder is perfect. It’s shreds to small pieces of confetti. We had a previous same make shredder, but to be fair, we didn’t really look after it. This new one is fast, can do many more sheets, smaller pieces, and works perfectly. We have also purchased and used the relevant oil to grease the machine.
There is a locking feature on the top of the controls so you can’t switch it on by accident when locked. This is good, but while the shredder is running, you can lift the head away from the basket? I would prefer if the top with the chewing rotors locked into the basket with a locking mechanism, so you couldn’t remove it while it was running. I’m surprised it doesn’t have both features.
It works great and even put cards through it and does it no problem. It actually can’t take that make sheets as it claims but still works fine. Easy to use and empty and clea
After using this for a while bought one as a Christmas present for my sister who is very pleased with it as well.
A couple of downsides – it is a bit front heavy and is easy to tip over forwards if you are not careful. The cable coming out of the back means that you cannot place it flush to wall or any other surface, it has to stand proud a little.
I had a Fellowes shredder before that and it only went because the blades got dull after many years of use (more than a decade I think).
You’ll always see reviews of things like this that say “one star, it’s not like the old days, this broke in two days”. I think you pay your money and take your choice: if you run a cheap home shredder like this for comfortablly less time than they say then let it cool (say 3 or 4 minutes max), stay under the number of sheets they say (say 3 or 4 sheets max, and count thicker paper as double the number of sheets), oil it (drizzle rapeseed oil on a sheet of paper and feed it through every few months), don’t put plastic through it, and it’ll work fine for years.
Or, spend a lot more on one designed for an office.
Of the negative feedback on a few. I decided to bite the bullet and purchase this little fella.
I am not disappointed. It’s exactly the right size for my household needs, as I only need it to shred bills, statements and anything that has my address on it which means I will only use it maybe once a month.
The top isn’t terribly heavy and sits perfect on the bin with no gaps and the bin itself is sturdy enough to hold it.
It shreds the paper into quite small pieces making it easy to tip into a waste bag when full. Love the window in the front letting you know how full it’s getting and it’s not too noisy either.
The other positive is that it doesn’t leave tiny bits of paper in the blades therefore no mess when you lift it to empty the bin.
Very happy with this purchase, and it’s knocks spots off the rubbishy one I purchased from a well known store and needless to say returned.
I would recommend this to anyone who only wants it for household purposes.
I’ve used it already and am very happy.
I am one very satisfied customer.
It will cross cut A4 paper in singles, twos or threes with ease. Anything thicker seems to strain the motor and gears, so I wouldn’t recommend feeding it too much at a time.
The bin is quite small, which is good in a way because it doesn’t take up much space, but it does mean you need to keep a watch on how full it is. I found that it will take around 20 sheets before needing attention. Empty it well before the shreddings reach the top, otherwise they will strain and jam the cutters, which could eventually break the gears. This is how my last shredder broke.
I found the window on the bin to be of little use as the plastic is tinted and difficult to see through clearly.
The thermal cut-out seems quite tolerant. I was able to shred several bin fulls without it tripping.
The instructions recommend lubricating the cutters from above with shredder oil after each emptying. Just be careful not to spill any on the carpet!
The shredder is slightly noisy, but not overly so.
The only complaint I have is a tendency for the cutters to clog up, even when the bin is not full. Clearing it out is a fiddly job best done with thin pliers. I found leaving a short gap between each sheet, rather than endless feeding, helps avoid this.
Overall it’s a reasonable machine and I am happy with it.
