Very happy with the lawn mower being light, compared to my last one, but I wouldn’t recommend for men as the height of the handles are very small

Cut long grass with ease, my only dislike is the height adjustment bit fiddly

It was about time someone came out with a decent, cordless electric lawnmower and this one from Flymo doesn’t disappoint! A fairly well thought out design although i will state one of my disappointments now in that i was initially happy to see that this set included 2 battery packs with me thinking you have one to use and one as a spare but it turns out both battery packs are required before operation. Speaking of the batteries you get around 30 minutes run time overall and for me with a small-medium sized garden that is not an issue. The batteries do take a few hours to charge so cuts can be interrupted, there is a handy battery level indicator which you can use to judge how much juice is left.

A fairly cumbersome lawnmower but i would say very average, fairly easy to lift and manoeuvre about. Folds neat-ish for storing, of which can be vertically to save a bit of room. Being cordless though this lawnmower is an absolute dream. No more wrestling with power cables while mowing or need for extension cord in the further to reach places. I still feel at 275 (at the time of review) is expensive as a lawnmower despite it being cordless and rechargeable, i am a bit begrudged by the price.

    Same old problem “battery life”.

Long-ish grass makes it quite a bit harder to use but if you have a flat lawn it is ok.

THe batteries are expensive and it seems you can only get them from Flymo

Positives, Love the freedom of not having a lead.
Negatives, thought the grass box could be a bit bigger. But maybe because it would effect the battery recharge times

Best thing for me it’s lightweight and starts when it should do. Not ideal for massive lawned areas but for where I’m using it ideal. Battery seems to keep it charge to finish the area. Finding though that if lawn left and grass longer takes a bit more time then the issue starts of it them running low on battery power.
As long as I just get on with it and do it say about twice a month in summer it’s really good.
With it being so much lighter to move around it makes life easier on my back.
Storage is easy as it folds down and the grass basket thing on it not a bad size.
Son prefers using this over a petrol one we have as he thinks it so much easier to push under overhanging bushes.

Easy to put together if you use the picture on the box as a guide. The instructions were okay but on one section we couldn’t work out which way round it went together and the box image helped figure it out.

Very lightweight and brilliant that there’s no cord to watch out for. We have a very small garden and this is a brilliant size for it. Surprisingly lightweight and nips round the grassed area in next to no time. Easy to empty and clean and when it’s all over it folds up and takes up very little room in the (small) shed we have.

Really pleased with this. Even the charger gives us a couple of full cuts and still has a tiny bit left over.

Firstly, I was surprised how relatively easy this was to put together — once you have sorted out all the parts. The handle is in two-pieces, and you fix the lower piece to the mover first. The grass box has a clip-on handle to the orange top and then that clips onto the grey base. You get a couple of cable clips to attach the cable to the handle, so it is out the way.

Charging the batteries is done by way of a dual charger, that had a UK plug on the end. These simply slide on top off the batteries. Each battery has three bright green LEDs that show you the charging status. On top of the mower is a smallish flip-top dome and the batteries go in under there.

At the rear is a lift flap, which you raise to attach the grass box. As someone who has a bad back, it would be useful if this could be kept up out of the way while in use. As every time you remove the grass box, it closes. At 11.5Kg (25lbs) it is nice and light for me to manoeuvre around though.

At 34cm, I do think it is quite narrow and more suited to a smaller sized garden. Especially if you are going to overlap on the return.

I have not had much opportunity to use this, since we have drought conditions and most the lawn, front & back, is parched., with little growth.

As the name suggest, there are several storing options for this mower, which are useful. The 2-piece handles fold down onto the mower, creating a small footprint if stored on the floor or the whole thing, including the grass box, can be hung up on the wall. I juts storing it on the floor now, as I am moving house in about 4-6 weeks when I’ll decide how best to store it.

I cannot comment on how long the batteries are going to last and the replacement cost looks to be around 60/each. So, almost half the cost of the lawnmower, which may explain why it costs so much in the first place.

I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.
NB. For a sizing guide, squares in photos are 1cm.

For smaller gardens, convenient storage, but pricy. Replacement batteries approx.£60/each

All of my previous lawnmowers was plugged into the mains or petrol driven, i have used them for over 20 years, this brings me to my first ever cordless battery powered lawnmower: the Flymo SimpliStore 340 Cordless Electric 40v. I read some reviews saying it was quite difficult to put together out of the box, i personally didn’t find it too challenging, you do get a bag full of bits, best thing to do is sort the bits into 2 parts, the middle connecting two bar together and the bottom bar linking it to the lawnmower. The setup from taking it out of the box took around 20 minutes.
The longest part of setting up was connecting the grass collection basket, the clips and alignment is quite hard to get right as they weave in and out, this can be tricky to get correctly, especially that the back of the basket, I had to make sure it was aligned correctly at the back before they clip together, I had to start over again (hard to take part when clipped). Once built correctly, the basket was sturdy and had no problems.

The battery charger can charge two batteries, but the design is a bit strange. From the plug the cable leads to two separate base chargers units, i think it would have been better to have a single base charger unit that can charge 2 batteries on it. The design Flymo used is a little fiddly but bearable,

I really like the lawnmower as it is compact, in the folded position it saves a lot of space as you can have it in a upright position. Overall a great design, Flymo even designated a space to hang the grass container. With one full charge I managed to cut the front garden and the side also the back that took around 30 minutes. I had one bar out of 3 left. I did not need to use the battery reserves, according to the manual there is a reserve built in. It feels fantastic to use a lawn mower without needing to juggle about with electric cords, very futuristic.

As for the power, well, currently there has been a drought around the UK, the grass has not been growing as fast as it normally would, I live up in the North and the grass is still green. Whilst cutting the grass the motor of the Flymo Simplistore 340 produces low sound. When it goes over more dense patch of grass, I can hear the motor accelerates, even with more power and running harder. In comparison it is the quietest lawnmower that i have ever used.

I have not had any clogging issue, the grass seems to collect in the basket nicely filling up at the back. One thing that i found difficult with the lawn mower was when cutting narrow grass or near the edge, two wheels can easily fall off the side causing problems, i think i would have preferred a roller on back of the lawn mower for more support rather than just 4 wheels.

After emptying the filled basket, there is nice design touch, the flap between the basket and the lawnmower actually stays lifted this saves me having to reach all the way down to lift.

    Pro:
    Quiet motor
    Space Saving
Cordless – No need to worry about cables
Rechargeable batteries lasts over 30mins of use
Lots of little design feature that impresses
    Portable and light

    Cons:
    Strange battery charger
Cutting the grass edges can be tricky
    Instructions not the greatest
May not be powerful enough for densed grass

    Final Verdict:

The Flymo SimpliStore 340 Li is an impressive lawn mower perfect for those compact gardens, it’s seamless, grabbing it out of storage, plug in the batteries, start it up and cut the grass without needing to plug in to the mains or worry about petrol. It may struggle with long and dense grass. In storage, folding and unfolding does not take long to do, It can stand on its own without needing to rest on anything, saving a lot of space. A part from a few little things like difficulty in manoeuvring near grass edge ditches, overall this lawn mower is delight to use and very impressive. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taking the word compact to a new level, lovely Lawn Mower.

was never a fan of wires hanging around when I mowed the lawn. When this lawn mower arrived, it was packed pretty well.
It came disassembled in a rather small box. I was expecting a larger one but it was quite small-sized.
After taking out the parts, I started the assembling procedure. I was able to assemble it in no time with the detailed instructions provided.
Overall, it took me just 20-25 minutes and my lawn mower was ready to be used.
I want to mention here, that attaching the handle was a bit fiddly and took me some time to fix correctly.
The lawn mower is small in size and lightweight as compared to the traditional lawn mowers. Performance-wise, it worked perfectly.
It is orange and grey which gives it a nice look.
The handle comes with 3 LED lights that display the battery levels.
I can mow my small lawn easily with one complete charge.
On average, it took the batteries around a couple of hours to charge completely.
Also, the batteries were easy to install and come with a lid for protection.
Additionally, I found that the battery is sufficient to mow a small lawn twice and a bigger lawn once.
The handle can be folded as well. Attaching and detaching the grass box was also a simple and smooth process.
Moreover, I can adjust the setting of the mower according to the grass length. The height ranges from 20-60 mm. I usually prefer that my grass be the smallest height so I kept it on the smallest setting.
Furthermore, the electric mower feels like a normal mower. I didn’t find any difference in performance.
Overall, I am very impressed with this lawn mower. It works extremely well and cuts the grass as I expected.
    Satisfied

We’ve used a few high-end mowers over the years which we love and chose for hassle-free and uncomplicated use with the added advantage of reliability and effectiveness with the task at hand.

We’ve also had a Flymo in the past. I would describe Flymo as a more budget-friendly brand. No frills, if you will, with parts that don’t speak quality, but a machine, no less, which does the job well enough for a couple of reliable years from my experience. Our last Flymo eventually developed an irreparable crack to the arm of the trimming length adjuster. As such, the cutting edge became uneven.

This Flymo is called the SimpliStore as it has the ability to be able to collapse to store in a tight spot which is the very purpose of this small scale mower. We’ve been using this in the poultry flock’s garden. Its cordless and due to the lawns location, its less cumbersome to weird this unit to the area. Plus it’s very light compared to our petrol guzzler.

There is a bit of assembly required, namely the handle which is a bit fiddly, but not challenging. I like that there is a power lever on both sides of the handle which means the left and right handers in our family can use it.

Its a simple and straightforward machine to operate, I like that it cuts a slightly longer length which means less time spent cutting and more time relaxing in the garden enjoying my handiwork. The ability to cut to 5 varied lengths with a quick flick ensures I can keep the lawn suitably longer for our chickens (who enjoy pecking it down to their own requirements), and shorter where we dine and relax.

The very edges of the cutting blade are not far from the edge of the mower. This means I spend less time clipping the edges – sometimes I leave the edges long to give a more rustic country garden bee-friendly vibe near the borders.

In all a pretty good budget mower which does its job, albeit with limited durability from experience, compared to our our solid, but hugely pricier workhorse.

One word for this mower. Wow!

I’ve always used corded mowers and the whole process of unwinding the cable, maneuvering around it and then having to wind it all the way back up again was arguably the worst part of the mowing process. So tedious.

In comes Flymo with a completely wireless mower! Honestly a game changer for me. Literally just unfold, make sure your batteries are in and go. Makes mowing an absolute breeze with no cables to worry about running or tripping over.

The initial setup was a little bit fiddly and took a little while but once up and running it’s nothing but smooth sailing. It’s not too heavy and pretty easy to move around which is nice.

Battery life is decent, enough to do one full mow with a little bit of juice left. We have a pretty average size garden, living in the London suburbs. If you have a particularly large garden then I’d suggest grabbing a couple of extra batteries to keep you going. Thankfully they include a charger for the included batteries so props there!

The mowing experience itself is great, 2 buttons on both handles so you can operate with either hand. The blades are fantastic, no snags from what I could feel and the width is solid as well at 34cm. Maybe could be bumped up a little to lessen the amount of trips up and down the garden. Other than that, there’s not really much else I could ask for! It’s made mowing a breeze.

Overall a great piece of kit and a solid new addition to our garden. After using this we will never go back to a wired mower. 5*!

So far we are loving this cordless lawnmower. We have a third of an acre which is about half lawn, and this mower was able to trim the whole thing on about a third of the charge. It was much faster than our electric hover, for several reasons:
    * The lack of a wire means you can just go do it, without tying in knots and getting caught on fences and plants
    * The clippings are firmly blown into the large collecting bin and get well compressed, so we can do the whole lawn without emptying (previously cut – if it was the first cut of the year I think it would take 2 or 3 trips)
    * The light weight was a surprise. It was easier using a wheeled mower than using the hover. Tight tirns are harder, but it was less effort to push and steer most of the time.

It needed minimal assembly and the instructions were pretty clear, but you do need a second pair of hands to hold things while you pop holes over screws and try to fit the halves of the grass bin together. The silly reviewer who gave it 1* because they were too impatient to follow the instructions should be ignored (and ashamed).

From new the batteries took about two hours to fully charge. We’re going to see if we can do two cuts off one charge, should work out fine. Storage was less obvious than it ought to have been – I can’t help thinking they could design the handle so it folds smaller to go on a shelf in our shed! As it is I have it hung on a wall fairly tidily.

Overall this is a great product, well made and easy to use, and we recommend it.

What I like best about this lawn mower is it’s weight. I’m disabled with a bad back and week hands.

Flymo has been around for yonks and it is a pleasure to review this little lightweight one. It is so light compared to others I’ve had making manoeuvrability quite easy. As well as no worries about tripping or mistakenly mowing the cable given that there aren’t any, hurrah as it works via a battery. So no extension cables needed with this one to try and reach all areas of your garden.

Comes packaged quite compactly in its box.

Included are batteries X2 so you can always have one ready. So you don’t have to stop and wait for anything.

My son who has passed and whenever I go to the cemetery I have to use shears. The general maintenance of the grass in the cemetery is not great. Now I can load this into the back of my partners van and cut the grass just now I like it!

Good enough for a small to average size garden I’d say.

I would recommend especially if you find it difficult like myself to move heavy things around.

I hope you found this review helpful

Flymo SimpliStore 300 Li Battery Lawnmower – 40V, 30cm Cutting Width, Close Edge Cutting, 30L, Lightweight, Orange and Grey

I had a Worx battery operated lawnmower and when it packed after a few years in use, I thought I would give the Flymo SimpliStore 300 a try. Below is my experience based on using this lawnmower for about a months:

    Pros:
Battery operated so no more entangled cables or nasty petrol fumes
Comes fairly assembled. Just need to attached the handles and ready to go
Good size trim collection box (30L)
Grass is collected well in the box. No throwing around on the lawn
Stores neatly in the shed. The unit stands upright
    Lightweight

    Cons:
Narrow cutting width. I have a small lawn but have felt at times the need to have a wider width
From experience, the 20V each battery is under powered, particularly if you have a medium to large lawn. You would require multiple recharges
Battery charge times is extensive. The Worx lawnmower batteries would charge in 15 minutes. Maybe Flymo can come up with a fast charger?
Struggles to go over tall grass. The lawnmower cut off couple of times trying to tackle overgrown grass
Expensive given that other battery lawnmowers with wider blades and powerful batteries with fast charger cost just a little more

Overall, I think this is a good little lawnmower and of good use for small lawns. Even then I would have liked it to be priced a little less.

I was so glad to receive this item as cables are the bane of my life, especially as we don’t have a mains close enough for most mowers. Our current one doesn’t reach and we have to use an extension lead aswell. Ultimately the cables just get in the way!
It’s quite a small mower so you find yourself emptying quite often especially if you have a bigger garden and ultimately doesn’t have that much power as a normal mower. Don’t expect lovely garden stripes as it’s not that great for that and it takes a while as you are covering a smaller surface area.
It’s also quite tricky to change the height on the mower-maybe something they could improve on the next model.
Takes quite a while to charge the battery but lasts long enough to do your lawn a few times. I do really like that it folds up neatly as we struggle for space in the garage. All in all a good mower but has a few niggles.

Review of the 30cm wide 40V Flymo Simplistore.
    Quite a compact mower.
Assembly is pretty straightforward, fix the lower handle to the mower with quick release handles, attach the upper handle assembly with the fixed clamp bolts.
Put the grass box assembly together & clip it on.
Charge the 2 supplied 20V batteries (that takes about 2 hrs).
While that’s happening adjust the cutting height – no lever – you have to manually adjust the rear axle from underneath the mower but it’s simple enough – I used the middle position.
Clip in the batteries when charged & use one of the 2 supplied safety keys to basically turn the power on.
After that it’s off you go.
The mower itself is very lightweight to use and easy to maneuver.
It cuts quite close to the edge of any vertical structure eg bedding sleepers.
The cut on the middle setting is about right for our garden middle in of summer.
The grass box will comfortably take about 10m sq before it needs emptying (and thats easy enough).
The one minor issue for me is this is a really narrow mower so several overlapping passes – will be fine for a small garden but if you have a larger area will pay to look at the bigger sizes available.
    Overall from my perspective.
    Positives:
Battery powered so no cables stretched over the garden.
    It’s really lightweight.
One full charge will do both our front and back garden.
    Good cut heights.
    Easy to assemble.
    Decent capacity grass box
Folds up vertically for storage (Quite flat)
    Less good.
Narrow cut width means several passes.
2 Hr charge time between (or before) use to get a full charge.
Not so good for a bigger garden.
    Hope this helps your decision
    Thanks for reading.

Lightweight - does a decent job on one charge - but the 30cm is narrow

Batteries are getting so small and cheaper so we can do away with wires. I used to hate cutting the grass with a wired mower. I have been using a GTECH battery lawn mower for the last couple of years. This is cheaper than the GTECH but does just as good a job. They are both light and easy to use. Both just as fiddly to put together. The GTECH height adjustment is a lot easier to adjust than the Flymo. Hopefully once set for most people it won’t need to be changed again. The blade on the Flymo is 30cm which is fine for a small lawn but will take a long time to cut a large lawn. Battery life is good. This is a good little mower that has the huge advantage of being wireless.

This lawnmower is great for smaller gardens and easy to cut areas.

The unit comes almost fully built out of the box, just the arms and box to put together which didn’t take very long with the simple picture instructions. The box was a bit fiddly lining up all the clips but once built it’s solid.

The arms themselves only have 2 settings, folded and unfolded, this unfortunately means the handles are at a set height (2 holes to bolt into to make it 1 inch shorter) once built and I would have done with them being slightly higher at 6ft.
When folded the grass box clips onto he handle and just hangs there.

The batteries took 6 hours to charge from empty and even when the lights stop flashing on the batteries themselves check the charger as it has a light to tell you when charging is complete.
The batteries then slot into the top of the mower, out the plastic key in the hole and turn to switch the safety switch off.

Once this is done you press the button on the handle and squeeyeither trigger to get going.
The mower starts quickly and gets up to speed very quickly, and for a mower, pretty quietly.

The height adjustment is very annoying using spring loaded bars on the wheels and no easy way to move them up or down without risking getting your fingers trapped.
I found wedging my feet against the mower and pulling the wheels themselves was the safest way but you have to be pretty strong to do this.
Once set at a height maybe you wouldn’t need to mess with this much but if you leave the grass tow grow and need to switch between high and low then this could be annoying.

Cutting-wise is does an OK job, most of the time it needed a push and a pull to get all the grass as the cutting area isn’t huge, you aren’t going to get any fancy stripes with this as there is no roller.
The grass box is quite small but was very easy to empty.

The mower itself is lightweight and was very easy to push around, having no cable meant I could wedge it in places I wouldn’t normally go and was a lot less hassle when moving from the back garden to the front with no need to me to open the front door, run an extension cable etc…

Battery life was excellent, a fully charged set of batteries let me cut the whole back garden and front garden with still half a battery left, almost 45minutes of continuous cutting!

Overall it’s a good unit, it’s cutting ability is ok but could have been better if you had a larger blade version. Storage could be good for small spaces but I found it annoying that I couldn’t fold the handle easily to make the mower shorter as I store it inside a garden storage box.

If you only really need 1 height setting, enjoy the freedom of no cable and have a smaller garden and plan to cut the grass in advance so you remember to charge the batteries, this would work very well for you, I picture this being used by someone who is retired and likes to keep their grass short but doesn’t want the hassle of heavy mowers and cables.
But at 230… I feel it is a lot of plastic and feels cheap for the amount you pay. If it was half price then it would be well worth it but at this price I feel you are paying for the batteries rather than the mower itself.

I received this Flymo lawnmower through the Amazon Prime program
This Flymo lawnmower arrived in a box with pictures of the product printed all over it, having opened it and inspected all the components plus the assembly instructions, it was just a matter of put it all together this was quite easy as the instructions are in text and also in pictures
The grass collection box which is made from plastic comes in two pieces which actually just click together plus add a small part that clips inside the Mower
As regards to the Mower this has a nice adjustable handle so you can have it at the height and angle to suit you for comfort, plus the adjustment for the blade is controlled by adjusting the height of the wheels ( I like this idea better than having to adjust the blade itself ) and you have three different settings that have a cutting width of 30 cm
The mower is powered by 2 – 20V batteries which give you a good amount of power went fully charged charging is done by the two charging adapters that you get in the box just plug it into your mains and you can charge them both at the same time
After you have fully charge the batteries insert them into the Mower is quite simple as they just push into the battery compartment and you’re all set up ready for attacking your lawn
The thing about battery operated mower is the fact that you don’t have to get your extension lead out every time you want to cut the grass and worry about electric cables lying all over the grass.
Before you can start the mower you have to turn it on by turning the little red key that fits in between the two batteries in the battery compartment then you can press the button and use the controls on the top of the handle of the Mower
I have tried this out and cut our lawn and found the Mower to be quite easy and comfortable to use and not very noisy and leaves a nice finish after you cut the grass
When you have finished cutting the grass and it’s ready to be stored away it’s quite simple as the handles fold and the grass box just clip onto the handle this makes it easy for storing as you can either hang it up or stand it in a corner
Having reviewed the Fly lawnmower and tried it out on our lawn I found it to be well made from plastic and steel with all the parts looking to be strong and durable, the blade gave a nice cut and left the grass looking good so on the whole I find this to be another good product by Flymo nice lightweight reasonably quiet and reasonably priced

I hope you found this review helpful

I have a mid-sized lawn – about 15m x 10m, and it’s fairly flat, nothing too challenging. I hate cables getting in the way when mowing, so battery power was the obvious choice.

This mower comes in a surprisingly small box. Assembly took about 25 minutes, at a guess. The main part of the assembly is bolting together the 2 sections of the handle and attaching the handle to the mower.

The batteries took roughly a couple of hours to charge. The batteries are then slotted in and you turn an orange plastic key to engage the batteries, then you’re away mowing your lawn cord-free.

The sound and feel is exactly like a mains powered electric mower, but it’s such a relief to not be constantly managing a power cable while trying to mow.

We like our lawn short, so I left the mower on its lowest setting, which was about right for us. Height adjustment on this model requires you to turn the mower on its side to manually move the rear axle to a different slot.

I mowed by going up and down my lawn, in a way that some mowers would have left stripes in the lawn. There was a little bit of striping (I like stripes) but it was hardly noticeable.

I mowed the whole lawn in about 15 to 20 minutes, and the end result was as good as any mower I’ve used before (save for minimal stripes).

The batteries have 3 LEDs to indicate how much juice they have left. At the end of the mowing they were showing one LED, so, maybe 1/3 remaining.

Not a mower for large or uneaven lawns, I guess, but for the average back garden, this should prove to be incredibly convenient.

This is a short-term review as I’ve only used the mower once. Longevity remains to be seen, particularly as regards the batteries, but so far so good. No signs of wear on the blade after the first outing, no obvious weak points on the machine, apart from the lid that covers the batteries,
which feels a bit flimsy. It’s nice and light and folds up small, having a very small footprint for storing in a shed or garage.

This mower will also be great for transporting in the car. We sometimes need to mow the lawn at another property that we rent out, and this will be perfect for those occasions.

Based on the first mow of my lawn with this item, I’m generally impressed, but keep in mind, this is a mower that’s about being small, lightweight and convenient, not large, heavy and robust. If this is the sort of mower that you need, then I can definitely recommend it.

    I hope this was helpful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, but sturdy enough. Very convenient.

Flymo lawnmower comes in the box with very clear instructions.
Was very simple to put it together.
Charged batteries fully for the first use as advised.
Very easy to use it! I own petrol mower with the cord that I have to always pull hard to start, well no more. Just a press of the button and it works!
It is not loud, just like a hoover.
Cuts my grass just as good as my petrol mower.
Batteries lasted me for ages. Was enough to cut a lot of grass, I have huge double garden.
    Cuts nicely.
    Love it all the way!
    Highly recommend it!

    Brilliant little lawn mowe
