I bought this to replace and older pair of products that had recently failed. Initially all was well and then after a couple of hours the picture would cut out on screen or the other for a second or so.
I reached out to the seller who was very helpful. Several messages later and after swapping out every thing else I swapped out the Ethernet cable. I purchased a new cable and all is working perfectly. I had assumed as there was a picture the Ethernet cable was fine. The final clue was a flashing orange light on the receiver when the cut outs happened, even though the orange light was solid the rest of the time.
Excellent service from the seller, thank you
After trying several hmdi splitters, I gave up and got this instead. Use the hdmi output to serve the main tv, then a 15m cat8 cable to feed a projector via the receiver box.
When I want to use the projector, it’s always necessary to power off/on the splitter. If I don’t, I can’t get hdr to work.
Not a major issue but it’s a bit of extra hassle.
I purchased the FOURKAY HDMI over Cat5e/6/7 extender to help send SkyQ HDMI to a second SAMSUNG 55″ screen in my bedroom. I already had Cat 6 networking cable around my home which with a simple bit of rerouting enabled this to work perfectly. It works just brilliantly, picture quality is excellent, the units are a good solid build and you only have to provide power at one end, which can be either. The units come with a single power supply which you plug into either the transmitter or receiver. The transmitter unit has a HDMI in and HDMI out to enable your existing TV to continue to function, and an extra “copy” is sent over ethernet cable to the receiver to produce another HDMI out socket for another TV. I run mine with 2 x SAMSUNGS and SKY Q as the source. SKY Q has a Bluetooth remote so its simple to change the channel in either room. I’m very happy with this product as its already saving a me a multi-room subscription and so the payback is pretty quick. Overall, simple to install, works flawlessly and is well made.
Great product and fantastic service received from this company. Support given prior to ordering and after was excellent, I can confirm these extenders works great with Sky UHD / 4K. Many thanks!
There were a number of different options I considered for an extender. I chose this one primarily on functionality, as I didn’t see another that offered the functionality of the Fourkay at a comparable price (loop out was key, PoE from either unit was a winner too).
My set up involves around 30m of cat7 (cat6a would have saved me a Tenner, but hey), so I ran and terminated the cable after initial testing and the picture and audio (incl. Atmos) from both the loop out and from the receiver unit were perfect.
The devices are neat, sturdy and well made.
The only reason I dropped a star from VfM is that I spotted them on the fourkay website for around 20 less, but preferred to use the known quantity of Amazon.
More than happy with the purchase!
I didn’t know quite what I needed but help and support was in abundance. Product works as advertised and I can now view UHD in two rooms from one SKY Q Box and the remote operates via a IR link. Great product and service
