This was a xmas present, there was definately smiles on faces and really enjoyed using it. The paint was hard to get on at first but when they got the hand of it they really liked doing it.
This was a great gift that was picked randomly. Had a lot of fun painting them with the kids and they wanted to keep going, it’s a shame you only get a few items to paint for the amount you pay but the fun was undeniable and was worth i
I purchased for Christmas for my niece as I haven’t seen anything like this in the shops. The packaging is good and bright. My niece absolutely loved the contents, loads of little items to paint. It has kept her entertained for hours. She loves the little tea set even more as she got to design it for herself.
We know the company so the quality of the product and packaging does not need any commenting. My daughter is just under 8 and she had fun painting the tea set. The paint is also right for the product and sticks very well (requires couple of hours to dry). The quality of the output depends on the age, patience (which we dont have), etc. so don’t expect the painted outcome to match the box. 🙂
It took about 36 hours for the bigger bits to dry (my kid made something similar to the rainbow style on the front) so not for the impatient children (thankfully mine are ok).
The paint dried pretty quick but unfortunately one colour was dry. Only provided one paintbrush, with two kids they were a little annoyed they couldn’t do it together but overall, for the price, kept them busy on and off for a little while.
The kids had fun painting it all. But make sure you put paper down and the kids stay on the paper while painting. I put paper on my table but the kids must have moved it and got the paint on the table and it is proving difficult to remove.
I would say it was worth it for the smile it put on her face and the fact it kept her occupied for a whole afternoon, and she now has a “fine bone china” (her words) tea set just like Mummies.
The slab of clay that comes with it is pretty large, so you could make a few items- it isn’t just one of those one hit wonders where you can’t do much with it 🙂 The instructions are very clear as well- although the child needed a little bit of help she was able to read them on her own, and digest what was meant to be done but at the same time it didn’t make it too simple and dumbed down for older kids.
The clay is air dry so you just have to leave it overnight and then you can paint it the next day. This might pose a little issue for some children who are impatient, but quite frankly shouldn’t be a problem. I would suggest sticking to a simple design as the more complex ones- like the jewellery box- was a little complicated and didn’t work too well.
It is a great set, and excellent value. You will easily get your money’s worth out of it. I would certainly purchase it again for another child. I think it would be usable for either sex, up until the age of probably 10 or 11, although you might get away with a bit older if they are really into art.
