This rainbow lab is super engaging for kids as it contains a wide variety of science experiments which displays vibrant colours and cool reactions. As well as having fun, its make science easier for kids to learn regardless of ability. A recommended buy for any child who is interested in science or who may need that little extra support in their learning.
my daughter loves this and bought another for her friends birthday – this arrived with no postal packaging, therefore the box is damaged and our address sticker stuck to it and I cant get it off – very bad if this was ordered as an xmas present for a child!!!!
My 5 year old niece loves practical things and she enjoyed this kit – have yet to get a bad present for her from Galt’s excellent range! Good value for money with lots of activities in it.
Bought this for my four year old son for Christmas. Just used it (March) and it’s brilliant. So colourful, so effective, and so much to do. I don’t review many things but this is really worth it.
I have bought three of these now for birthday gifts. They always go down a treat. My daughter is 5 and we’ve done 3 of the experiments so far. We wrote down our findings in the notebook that comes with it, and she wore her sparkly rainbow glasses for all 3
Bought this as a gift for my 6 year old nephew, at that age the kids are always curious and love to do things that a different. And this was definitely different. It came with a bunch of things and clear instructions making the experiment fun and easy to do and even some little goggle to really make the kids feel involved. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of the final product but was told it came out great.
This was a great success and my granddaughter delighted in showing me her “rainbow crystals”. She used it with her mum’s support and we feel the adult involvement was vital. (Mum had suggested this as a gift for winter day activities and it proved a good choice). We felt it is not a gift to be used by a child under 6 alone.
Bought this for my 5 year old son who enjoys watching Ryan world when they’re doing experiments.
This has fun educational experiments in it that explores colour, primary and secondary.
We’ve had lots of fun doing these. A lot of the experiments can be done one after another, as one experiment is required for the next step on the next experiment.
Highly recommend!
Sons asked for a different one for Christmas!
Bought this as a birthday present for 5 year old granddaughter and she loves it . She has only done 2 experiments so far but she said its great fun and is certainly holding her attention. Great value and will definitely be looking at more Galt science kits
This is a great way to teach primary colours to kids. The step by step guide has great experiments which can be repeated again and again and keep little one entertained for hours. You can have fun mixing the primary colours to discover what colours they make and numerous other activities. Our 5 year old just loves it! Will def be getting other sets out of the same range for future gifts
Sister. LOVES THIS. I bought her a little scientist outfit to go with it and she’s so cute. Ahhhh the experiments are interesting. She’s obsessed with colours. She’s been playing with this for over 2 weeks. Even when you’ve done everything you can use the beakers and pipetes so we bought her food colouring so she can keep playing or if have to keep buying more. Amazing
Absolutely thrilled with this for the money. My 8 year old science mad son loves it. All the bits and pieces and chunky and sturdy enough for him to use independently. The test tubes have really secure screw tops which is helpful considering my son is very attached to his ‘potion’ and likes to take it everywhere with him!
Overall, highly recommended
I purchased this for my 5yr old godson. He loves this set and I get sent photos regularly of him carrying out different experiments. Comes with a book of lots experiments to carry out (not just the ones shown on the box). So it’s not a one time play and everything is done, it can be enjoyed again and again. Includes cute children’s goggles. I’d definitely recommend this set.
This is a great present for a 4 year old, she wanted to play with it immediately,so we set to work.
I am not the 4 years old parent and neither were we in my own house, so liberties may have taken which would not be allowed, or could be easily prevented, in a more controlled, more responsible setup.
The dye was used up completely within the first 30 minutes, as we found many things upon which we could experiment with it. I had assumed a simple wipe down with a damp cloth would be enough to remove any of the dye which ended up on things we weren’t necessarily experimenting on directly. That was a bad assumption.
Our hosts wooden kitchen table is now indelibly stained a beautiful rainbow of different colours, or generally blacks and muddy browns, they think a quick sanding and re-varnishing should be all they need to do to restore it to its original condition.
Hands, you would think a good wash would be enough to remove the worst of the stains. No, no amount of washing with soap and water can even touch these dyes. Some industrial cleaners we had to hand did the job for me but were deemed too chemically for use on nieces delicate young hands. It had definitely faded almost totally through natural means when I next saw her 2 weeks later.
So all in all, marvellous fun. Maybe don’t let Uncles be in charge of running the experiments though.
This is a great science kit for kids.
We’ve done it today with my 7yo daughter and she loved it.
You get pretty much everything you need in the kit, the only extras you need are white paper, clear glass, water and a white flower which is so much better than other kits that require baking powder, vinegar and other random items etc.
There is a booklet with over 10 different experiments to do that have detailed step by steps and explanations for the results.
There are great extras like a scientists notepad and name stickers. You get lots of the materials too so you can redo any experiments you like.
We are really impressed with this science set and would highly recommend it.
We bought this and had it delivered directly to our 5 year old grandson Arthur as something to do during lockdown. We are so glad we did as he has had hours of entertainment with it. We had a message from our Son saying it is the best educational toy he’s ever had and that if we could write a review we should and to give it 5 stars. Another comment from him ” I was surprised how little mess there is”. We will be buying more of these.
Very good set ,comes in a nice and colourful box with a cute picture on the front, sense lockdown I need to keep my little one busy and this was a good out four a couple of hours ,even next day and day after and still have some more left for whenever:) Lots of stuff to do and learn ,mixing colours, make rainbow, make crystals and many many activities. Even think about to buy one for my friend’s birthday soon ,i m sure she will love it and keep her busy and entrained and lots to learn.Recommend!
It is a simple kit this one and not a lot of variety but my 9 year old daughter loved doing it. My lad is 6 and he joined in a bit too. It is a 1 trick kit, some water absorbing crystals that soak up a large amount of water that you colour with the kit. These crystals when left out will shrink back down again but retain the colour.
The blue is the strongest colour, then red followed by yellow so maybe add a little more yellow..
ood cheap fun, an afternoon well spent.
We bought this as a gift for my 4 yo and we have used it pretty much every day since we got it. In fact, even my 9 yo loves getting involved! My little one adores seeing how the colours mix together and he already knows what colours you have to mix to obtain green, orange and purple. He loves using the “crystals” and he can entertain himself for quite some times mixing colours, or using the dropper on paper tissue and making rainbows etc. The only heads up I would give is that the food colouring is really strong, so very difficult to clean if you get it neat on surfaces or even on hands etc. But overall, we all love it and will definitely buy it as present for other kiddies.
Bought as a gift for my nephew. It looks like a really good kit and I am sure it is, but unfortunately mine arrived and appeared to have already been opened. Upon checking everything was there it was missing a plastic cup. This is not a major problem but when you purchase a product you do not expect it to have already been opened with contents missing. Could not return due to having to give it away as a gift soon after arrival.
