Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI adore my Vivomove 3s. Bought at the beginning of lockdown, it was pivotal in helping me track my fitness. Great for bike rides, walks, home workouts. It looks gorgeous too, with the hands giving it the traditional look and most of my friends and colleagues surprised that it’s a smart watch. It’s smaller too, so doesn’t look too bulky on my slim wrist.
Unfortunately, just shy of 3 years of ownership and the display is failing. It is fading from the left and virtually unable to see anything in normal light. Renders the smart features null and void unfortunately. Battery still fine and lasts several days. I googled it, and apparently it’s a known fault. For the price of these watches, I’m gutted it is failing. I want another one, but I know the same thing will happen again. None of Garmin’s newer versions have the ‘real watch hands’ and just look like any other smart watch. Gutted 🙁

    4.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous watch....with a flaw

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHad two fitbits previously but now my phone is not supported by their app so I bought this.
Very pretty watch for a start, easy to use.
I found the app far better than fitbit, mainly because you don’t have to pay to expand the data you want to see!
I can see in depth my sleep patterns with no added cost.
The tracker seems to be accurate.
The only downside to this tracker is the battery life, its not great.
I have to charge it probably every three days, its not the end of the world though.

Bought this for my partner and it’s so frustrating to use. The touch sometimes works and sometimes it just doesn’t. Reply annoying when you really want to use it log activities.

I bought this for my wife’s birthday. She wanted a watch with a “proper” face similar to mine (I have a Withings Scan Watch) that looked stylish but could provide steps / heart / sleep data etc. She loves the size and has had people ask what it was. One observation she has is that if you have long nails the touch screen can sometimes be difficult to operate. The app is easy to use and the information is clear and understandable.

I love my Garmin watch. Bought one for my wife. Got this model as she needed something that doesn’t look like a smart watch. Biggest problem is that it does not have well defined hour lines, making it needlessly difficult to see what time it is at a glance. Also, quite lightweight. This can be a good thing for some.

The strap is very stiff so not the most comfortable but can be changed. Not sure it’s as accurate as my last Garmin but it looks like a real watch which is fantastic, easy to use and fantastic how it works.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBought this as a gift for my wife. She was concerned about wearing a watch 24/7 due to joint pain but she loved the styling and gave it a go, she has been able to wear this watch continuously without problems. I’m a keen cyclist and already a fan of the Garmin Connect ecosystem with my own Garmin devices. My wife has found the sleep, step and HR tracking to be great features, the automatic activity logging is a great feature and one she has used regularly. The slight negative to this watch smart feature is the lack of inbuilt GPS for geolocating activities, it is possible to use phone GPS to record geo-location but it’s not straightforward and is the reason for only awarding 4* but based on price some may consider a little harsh.

The battery life is great for a smartwatch and only needs charging after 3 days.

Only minor issue has been the time displaying incorrectly a couple of times which required a hand re-alignment from the Garmin Connect app. This has been infrequent and has happened twice since buying approximately 12 months ago.

This is a great watch, looks good performs well and is fairly accurate. Reason I changed from Fitbit was the terrible strap which if it breaks renders thr whole watch useless. With the Garmin it has s conventional strap which is interchangeable. Down side of the watch is the poor battery life – I need to charge it every 3/4 days.

Bought thos for my better half as a Christmas gift, now a rew months in and she absolutely loves the look and functionality of the app. Apparently the menstruation and ovulation tracking was an unknown bonus..I now know when to sleep on the couch and do overtime.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersStopped using my fitbit months ago and got the garmin a couple of months back.
The app and especially the time to sync is so much better, I think the sleep tracking is less accurate but that’s not my main feature for the watch so that’s fine. It does count be blow drying my hair as steps so a little less accurate but overall much better.
Only other thing is the strap that comes with it does massively irritate my wrist, which I thought was just a problem with the fitbit watch I had before. I’ve ordered a replacement metal strap and I’m hoping that will fix it as otherwise I’m very pleased.

I bought this as i wanted a fitness tracker, but one that looked more like a watch rather than a fitness tracker, i love this watch, does everything i need it too and more, it tracks my steps and sleep well, along with stress levels and encourages you to stop and breathe, offering breathing exercises, the connection has been great and the app and watch sync very well.
i took a long time to choose the watch, and this comes in nice colours also, i have the cream and rose gold.

I am very pleased with this watch. Lots of poeple have said “I like your watch” and are surprised when I tell them its a smart watch. It’s smaller than a lot of smart watches & looks more like a watch than a smart watch which is exactly what I wanted. It has more functions than I expected ,the app is easy to use once you get used to it. I only use it to track steps and walks so can’t comment on how well it works tracking other activities butI have had it for about 10 months now and it’s still working well. I would recommend this watch.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought this for my wife who absolutely loves it. She’s very happy with the functionality and it looks great. The only issue we had was I bought a third-party quick-release strap to go with it – the watch says it’s a 20mm strap size so this is the strap I bought, however on closer inspection the lugs are about 20.5mm apart, and so the strap kept popping out of place with minimal encouragement which was a problem (I’ve read about other people losing theirs on runs). I bought a 21mm strap instead and this still fit nicely in the gap, and seems a lot more secure.

Fantastic product, shame it was the wrong colour. Not overly bothered but it was a little annoying as I specifically wanted a blue strap (which was also 1 more expensive than the grey received) but I’ll keep it
The watch itself is fab, pushes notifications, answers calls, alarms, does steps, body battery, pulse etc. Battery lasts around 3-4 days

I got this as I wanted a smart watch to track fitness but didn’t need an out and out fitness tracker. It does the job and gives me notifications to remind me to check my phone messages . It is good to track walks and the auto start is useful. You will need to carry the phone to listen to music and reply to messages. Battery life is okay but you won’t get more than three days life. It looks good on the wrist and does the job for me.

Like most smartwatches of this type, the sleep tracker doesn’t work at all. It tells me I fell asleep at the time I set as “bedtime” every night, even when I know I’ve been sitting in bed reading a book for two hours after that. But, every other function works well. It’s a great step tracker and useful for checking notifications without having to dig out my phone. I also love the look of it and find that it does warn me to take a break when I’m getting stressed out, which is helpful for staying healthy both mentally and physically.

I love love love the look of this watch. I’ve wanted one for a long time & decided to treat myself.

The app isn’t as easy to navigate as the Fitbit app is but I think once I’m more used to it, there will be more features on this, than on the Fitbit.

I’m mostly disappointed because on the second day I had it – a scratch appeared on the face. I’ve no idea how but I wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary- so I feel like it’s ruined & for a 199 watch, I wouldn’t expect it to so easily mark. None of my previous watches / Fitbit were ever scratched.

The battery life is used up pretty quickly. It needs more charging than I’m used too, but at least with this you can still use the watch even when it’s not counting steps etc.

On the whole tho a tad disappointed…I’m happy with it. It looks far more dressy than other step counters & it has a lot of features to use.

Am Niro sure why the straps bruise your wrist. I take it off daily and clean, air out. But my wrist now has a scar around it. And I didn’t tie it too tight! Everything else is great. Looks really good. You do have to go and make sure it’s syncing a few times but the measurements are pretty accurate I would say.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had this watch for a year now. Long enough to know that I’m very happy with it but also to be aware of its flaws. The thing I like the most about it is that it looks like a normal watch and it is considerably smaller than most other hybrid smartwatches which was the main deciding factor for me and my skinny wrists.

I run regularly and it’s great for tracking this. Not nearly so good for walks though as it has a tendency to autosave if you stop for too long and then you end up with only half a walk recorded (this happens to me a lot as I have two small children who stop ALL the time to look at stuff on walks! I’ve given up with it now and reverted to Strava through my phone if I want to track a walk).

A couple of other niggles — you sometimes have to press the screen a few times before it responds. The Bluetooth connection with my phone drops out frequently as I walk around the house so it must have quite a short range. I initially thought this was the fault of my phone (as my husband has the boy version of this watch and his stays connected all the time) but I recently got a new phone and it’s the same.

Other than that though, I do love this watch. It still looks as good as new after a year despite being worn through a lot of DIY. The Garmin Connect app is good and the find my phone feature has saved me a lot of times! I would recommend this watch.

We have recently moved over from Fitbit watches to Garmin, I use the Garmin Forerunner 735xt as a functional sports tracking watch, whereas my partner wanted something less focused on sports and more aesthetically pleasing. This watch is definitely that, you can still track and log all sporting activities, however it’s smart enough to wear as an every day watch. It still packs a huge amount of software and tracking into the watch but you can use as much or as little as you wish. The app is great and provides tonnes of data, however understanding all of this can take a bit of time – I still don’t use everything. The only draw back to this watch is the touchscreen interface requires some getting used to, you need to tap pretty hard to get a consistent response, and navigating which option to select takes a bit of trial and error.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersShort review: would definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing watch. After doing a bit of research I decided to go for this hybrid watch as it wasn’t too expensive (Amazon prime day offer) compared to the level up (300).
It looks great, just like a classic watch which is what I was after, as I really don’t like the look of the sporty/smart watches.
Used it on 2 runs so far and in conjunction with the app it’s very accurate and gives you alot more detail than I was expecting for a hybrid. Seamlessly pairs with my Strava and MyFitnessPal keeping everything up to date. And notifications are easily set to your preference.
So far very happy with this watch and had no problems whatsoever. Look forward to getting more straps to suit different outfits.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve been using this watch for a few months now so feel I can give a decent overview. It’s very light which feels a bit ‘wrong’ to start off with but has been damage free so far. I’m quite tough on watches as I’m right handed and wear my watch on my right wrist. Most of my watches have been scratched or damaged due to this but this one has survived well so far. I bought this to stay within the Garmin ecosystem. I already use Garmin bike computers, lights and radar so it seemed sensible to just have one app to look after all my fitness stats. The app itself is very good and tells you everything you need to know. Only 2 negatives for app and watch:
    1. App has nowhere to add blood pressure. Very odd as most other health/fitness related stats can be added.
    2. Bluetooth connectivity of app and watch is unreliable at best. The watch shows as connected to my phone but then does not sync with app. Work around a include turning off bluetooth on phone and app and re starting or going into the pair phone menu on the watch. Bit frustrating but I can put up with it due to all the good points.
The watch is also almost a dark brown rather than black/grey. I quite like it but others may not!!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a beautiful looking smart watch and is great for day to day wear. It keeps track of steps and heart rate and can record activities such as yoga. This watch doesn’t work off it’s own GPS tracking for running or walking and requires a phone gps signal. It still works fine by connecting to the phone but I would say the Garmin vivoactive 3
Is better for recording runs and walks. I have both of these watches now and I have found the vivomove a great smart watch for day time at work etc and the vivoactive better for recording sport activities.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Vivomove S3 looks great and comfortable to ware. but regularly drops the bluetooth connection which is frustrating. Contacted Garmin help desk who responded quickly with a fix, which improved a bit but failed to rectify the issue, suggested I try another phone? they obviously don’t know the price of an iPhone XR. so will have to wait until either Apple IOS or Garmin improve this issue of the BT connection? I live in Hope.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI wanted a watch that didn’t look like your standard smart watch/fitness watch so this ticked the boxes. In terms of functionality it’s a bit hit or miss. The floor count is way off. I’ve spent the day running up and down the stairs doing housework and it’s only counted 1 flight. Other days it tells me I’ve got 16 by the time I reach work despite most of the morning being sat on a train.
The sleep tracker and heart rate monitor have proved useful and it’s helped me see where I need to adjust my schedule.
Like others, it has a tendency to cause irritation on my wrist and it needs regularly cleaned or the strap starts to smell. Also as the watch body doesn’t match the bevel, but instead matches the strap, it’s not really good aesthetic wise to buy a different strap. Battery life isn’t great but it charges in around half an hour so can’t really complain.
For just a casual watch for those wanting to monitor their daily activity this is great and I’d recommend. For those wanting more accurate tracking info I’d suggest doing more research in to other watches.
Edit – one and a half years after purchase and the screen is failing – see last photo. It’s like an advert for tunnel vision as the blurry sides edge closer to the centre. Soon I won’t be able to read the digital display which renders the watch useless for activity tracking as you can’t start an activity if you can’t see the onscreen menu. Update – I contacted garmin who replaced the whole watch, brilliant customer service.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great appearance but a bit of a let dow

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI like this sleek fashionable smart hybrid watch as it looks good and feels good.
I find that I have to charge it though every 4/5 days and find it can be slow to connect to phone GPS . One other negative is that is does not allow me to pause recording a training session. Instead you need to save and restart (unless there is an option in the settings that I have not found yet) so not as as Garmin forerunner but better looking !
