This game is good fun if you’re a fan of the show. Otherwise you are unlikely to do well at the questions.

I gave it to two friends and they had a good time playing it.

If you are a fan of the show and enjoy a quiz/cars type of game you will enjoy this one.

Great game, really true to the TV show.
    You won’t be disappointed…

UNLESS you have slightly poor eyesight.
Even wearing the correct prescription, the tiny white letters on a RED background are very hard to read.
I understand they did this to match the TV show style – but where the TV is 32inches or more, the letters on these cards are tiny.

Please consider accessibility Ginger Fox games!

Bought as a gift for a fan of the show. Feedback I received was that the recipient was thrilled as, unlike other board games, this one is very representative of the show.

My boys and I think you could possibly use an app with the game as well.
Some games from the that can’t be used with this game from the tv, would enhance playability and give so much more fun.
    A fantastic game.

Love this game, had so much fun playing it although it’s not really one to play at someone else’s house as you need to go search for stuff for some challenges

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt’s pretty incredible that the game is designed so well as to have almost all of the tasks be both possible to achieve in any home setting (without having to go out and buy stuff) and allow for a wide range of creative solutions. Best board game we’ve played with our twin 9 year olds.

Some people just know how to do a format and Richard Osman is one of those people who show up time and time again.
The board game is based on the TV show, where 4 celebrity contestants take each other on over the course of several shows in various quizzes, some of which turn up here. It’s ideal for groups / couples, but you don’t need too many people to be able to play – and if you have kids you can always play in teams.

The snag with popular games is that you want to play over and over, and without bonus material, extra packs and so on, you’ll quickly race through all the questions. But I’m sure they’ll have thought of that, and one thing you’ll know is that someone has a lot of quiz questions in their locker.

Great fun game played at New Year with friends. A lot more games and questions that will allow us to play the game for a decent time.

As a family of many generations 22-81we all enjoy sitting around the table playing family board games.
Love the tv show, this game is fab

This card game is only really playable for a certain generation. My parents who are massive fans of the 80s and grew up with MTV. Could play this game for hours. However my husband and I only need maybe two questions throughout the whole game. Overall it’s a great game if you grew up watching MTV. The roads are very simple and the game can be over and done with in less than an hour.

We got this as we are huge fans of the TV show and wanted something to play over Christmas. It didn’t disappoint! I don’t want to spoil any cards for people who haven’t played yet, but there are several categories related to the show that are easy to follow and make it accessible to family members of all ages. There is even a mini trophy to play for! Lots of competitive fun to be had!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great family game

Of course we had to wait for Christmas to take full advantage of this – it’s just perfect for those family gatherings where you’re all locked in for hours together – but it has been an absolute hoot and a joy to play, especially since we’re all big fans of the quiz with Ken Bruce.

The creators have done a really good job of recreating the magic of the radio show itself, with ample music question cards (including bonus round cards and the 3-in-10 round cards) that span a really wide range of musical eras and genres. There was something to thrill (and stump) everyone in our family, so we couldn’t be happier. If you play again and again, it might not be too long before you see cards again, so it would be great to get add-on packs – not sure if these are available currently.

All in all, though, it’s a fab addition to our rainy days and holidays gaming cupboard. Well recommended for music, Ken Bruce and BBC Radio 2 fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Really fun boardgame port of the BBC Radio 2 quiz

This is a must if you like music and trivia games. You do need three people to play and even with a 13 + age range it might benefit to being a little older or have a knowledge of older music (80s, 90s, 00s) just so you can get some of the questions.

It is pretty straightforward to play and the winner completes the logo jigsaw puzzle. The box is fairly compact so doesn’t take up a massive amount of space.

Overall it’s a fun game with a hint of nostalgia too. It might be possible to play with two people if you adapted the rules. All in all a good music trivia game!

This is a pleasant selection of word and trivia games – I haven’t seen the TV show so can’t comment about accuracy. There are six groups of 20 questions, each with different tasks, based on spelling, trivia, emojis, rhyming, etc; best played in a team, preferably with some alcohol to get the most amusement out of the game. There is a battery powered buzzer and a cardboard trophy for the winner in addition to the 120-130 game cards, which is a little lightweight; if you play several rounds, you will exhaust all combinations, so not that great for longevity, but fun while it lasts.

The game is for 3+ players, me and o/h also played just us and adapted for reading out and marking the points.

Detailed instruction sheet for how to play/score. Different card categories, there aren’t massive amounts for each but enough to get a few games from.

The button is brilliant (comes pre loaded with batteries and ready to go, just pull the white plastic tab out) and how much does it look like Osman!

Varied questions & for the emoticon round we used our phones (say the movie is jaws you say movie and send the shark emoticon, there are harder ones, and some easier.

You have the little trophy as shown to play for. It doesn’t come with pad/pen to keep scores so that it the only other thing you need then you are good to go. Varied rounds so you have a decent shot at scoring points and more so if you have a bigger team, more players more knowledge. 4/5 from us & I think because it isn’t s board game, just cards that need split and the buzzer I think we will take this to our next night at our pals.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good game

This game is great for adults and people who have been well into music over the years as the questions are about several different eras. Young people so to speak probably wouldnt benefit from playing this game as the questions are quite difficult. I know says 13+ but I do think this would be too hard for them. This is great when you have friends around though for a few drinks and a good laugh. I did rubbish to be honest I need to brush up a bit ha ha..

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis game is a lot of fun, particularly if you’re a fan of the show, featuring a lot of rounds you’ll be familiar with. Unfortunately it’s aimed at 3+ players, so for a couple like us, it’s only really playable when you have friends over, which is a shame. I’m sure they could have added a 2-player mode without much difficulty, but unfortunately I haven’t seen any board games that cater for different options than they originally intend.

This item arrived nicely packaged in a very colourful MTV box. Inside the box are plenty of question cards for different categories, instructions and MTV jigsaw pieces that you collect when you win. It’s a nice game to play with the family, but I think for older children/adults (even though it says 13+) as a lot of questions are quite hard. There are a lot of question cards but with the difficulty of it, the four of us playing went through most of the cards before someone won.

Who’s not a fan off Ken Bruces Pop Master, we try to tune in everyday for a fix

The board game follows the radio game, but with a board game abasing other contestants.

If you find the instructions confusing, watch the YouTube video, it made a lot more sense.

Download the app and Ken will read out the final questions.

This is a must have for us fans, found it really good, and a lot of fun.

Literally great fun but once you’ve played the questions exhausted so have to pass on to someone else

Official and genuine PopMaster question cards. Couldn’t be better.

This game is modelled on the BBC Radio 2 quiz of the same name. Having never listened to the radio version, this was my first experience of the format of the game.

In the box is the main playing board, counters and a series of different card options.

The game alternates between regular rounds of questions and bonus rounds, with 10 rounds of questions in total. There is there a head-to-head for the top two players to decide the winner.

The game advertises itself as stretching from the 1950s onwards. However, of the cards we have played so far, there appears to be a significant portion based on 1990s, 2000s and the 2010s. Maybe we simply haven’t shuffled them well enough to get to the other eras but this is likely to be most suited to people familiar with these decades of music.

The game is very easy to play and it does not take long to work your way up the board. In fact this is my one criticism of the game as it feels like it is over very quickly. We ended up playing a number of rounds of the game to make up for it.

Definitely one for adults rather than children. I can see this being a good addition to a dinner party or a night in with your friends.

I hope you found this review helpful.

A fun version of the radio quiz to play at home, with lots of actually quite taxing questions about the charts, as we used to call them, to answer. It’s of good quality with wooden pieces and there’s even a website wherein the finalist gets a grilling from Ken Bruce his very self. Loads of fun for pop boffins, and very replayable.

  26. EwanVieraf says:

This is a fun replication of the popular Radio 2 music quiz hosted by Ken Bruce.
It’s very simple to play and set up (much simpler than the slightly daunting instructions imply!).
Up to four players can take part (or team up if more).
There are a wide variety of questions for both the multiple-choice categories and the bonus rounds.
I would say this is very much aimed at the Radio 2 crowd (people of a certain age) as most of the questions cover 60’s to 90’s music.
When you get to the final round there is an option to access a website where a recording of Ken Bruce will read out the final questions (these are all accessed via a QR code on each card). If you do not have (or want) this though, you can do it just the same by reading the cards yourself!

This will be a fun little game for pop-pickers (of a certain age, as I say) and great for Xmas/New Year gatherings.

Only deducted a star as 30 seems a little high for the fairly basic contents of the box.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's like Ken is in the room!

A fun board game that’s a little different from the classics – perfect for those that love a game but want something different, and great for (obviously) PopMaster lovers, though can be played even by those that don’t listen in each day! Easy to play, instructions clear and not too complicated – which is always great – and just SUCH fun. All very good quality and very official looking; reasonable price for a board game.

This game really can be funny and create very entertaining atmosphere when playing. Big buzzer is of course biggest feature and making this board game like quiz game from tv you are watching.

Questions are interesting and from many different topics however only gonna last couple of games before eventually running out of cards and it is shame since whole game is based on them cards and questions. Despite this game being for whole family there is age limitation, it is not for kids, requires some level of knowledge. Also it is pain to segregate cards before the game with same category.

So big box without any board seems like waste and unnecessary. Could be compressed into smaller or add board for organising game cards during game.
