We already had this boxset on BluRay and watched the ‘UHD’ versions on Sky Movies. i was dubious about this UHD boxset as the films on Sky are very grainy. I need not have worried. The UHD Bluray films are MUCH better. Super clear picture and DTS sound (if you have a compatible sound system). Easily the best versions of the films since we watched at the cinema. I’ve not looked at the HD discs (also included in the boxset) and assume these contain the extras as they are not on the UHD discs.

Both UHD and HD discs for all films are packaged into four cases, which fit in the box. This is good as they will not take up as much space as 16 individually boxed discs.

Note it’s HD and not the 4k version.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe best these films have looked upto yet I enjoyed revisiting these films again on 4k they looked and sounded good my only issue is I had to turn my TV up more then I normally would as these were quiter then some other 4k audio tracks other then that I had a great time with this set no extras on the 4k disc’s I believe there on the blu ray disc’s with there respective films! Also even if you don’t have a 4k player or a TV yet these come with the standard blu ray versions so you don’t after worry about upgrading to the 4ks at a later date you’ll get both versions with this set. 4k set with the golden snitch ball on the front is the set I’m reviewing.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI watched these movies when they released donkeys years ago. I had 4 on DVD and 4 on Blu ray. Instead of watching them I bought this set for the enhanced picture and sound. I did not regret it. Loved every second. Well worth the money!

These are movies you can watch time and time again and never tire of them. Can’t believe it has taken me this long to get them on dvd! I swear every time I watch them I pick up something I missed before, and I love the special features dvds too!

Thus was for a gift and the recipient absolutely loved it.
It came with behind the scenes dvds, the movies, a pin, cards with the main casts’ info, a ticket to Hogwarts.
Very nice as a gift but the carton the train is made out of is a bit on the fragile side. The “wallpaper” on it was already slightly peeling on one side.

Excellent Boxset, comes with 4x (4-Way) Black DVD style Blu-ray cases. each has a single Blu-ray and a Single 4K movie disc – so 16 discs in total.

The transfer is great and i love the Harry Potter Film Collection, comes in a cardboard slipcase and a slip cover , but can be taken out and stored using the 4K black cases 2 films per box, if required.

I had read other reviews about the films being glitchy, but hoped they were just faulty discs. Mine have been glitchy too, where it’ll occasionally stop suddenly and go black for a few seconds. Shame as they’re great otherwise, but should be in proper cases for protection rather than cardboard slips.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersi was surprised to find out that most of the bonus features from the old DVDs are here (other than the interactive games like the Triwizard Tournament in movie 4 which i remember enjoying a lot as a kid but it was expected). i highly recomend getting this set if you want to own all 8 movies on Blu-Ray and enjoy many bonus material.
one thing which i know is only a me-problem, it does not have the Hebrew dub which i knew it won’t have when i bought it… it would’ve been nice to have the Hebrew dub on Blu-Ray but i know it’s too much to ask for… and i still have it on DVD so i got it covered…

It’s not my first blu-ray Harry Potter box, but it is the first one where I can actually watch the features and bonuses. I’m really pleased, happy with it. Though, it would have been less expensive to let clients choose between blu-rays or 4k but I appreciate all the goodies offered with this. The drawings and posters are cute, the two little booklets are great and the pin is perfect. I keep the cardboard train as a decoration next to my Hogwarts castle (which is not sold with this collection !). The whole quality is superb on my 4k blu-ray player. And the discs boxes are really practical.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersJoanne Rowling (penname J.K. Rowling) was merely an aspiring writer who from relatively
humble beginnings reportedly taking six years to write The Philosophers Stone on an ancient
typewriter struggled to get the book published, the rest as they say is history, she became the
bestselling author of all time with her imaginative creation of the magical fantasy series Harry Potter (Seven Books-Eight Movies) ….almost a rags-to-riches journey..
Remember taking my youngest a few times down to the local 24-hour store to buy the midnight
release of the books, and of course the Cinema as the films were, released
Many seem to suggest that the 4k upgrade is indeed weak especially in the earlier releases, I
have just completed viewing the series (over the past 6/7 days) and unlike some, impressed
throughout, especially during the special-effects sequences of the the early ones.
The story filmed over around 10 years tells of orphan Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe),as a baby is left to be brought up by a reluctant Aunt and Uncle who only show interest in their glutenous
son, treating Harry as, at best a second-class citizen, in fact, Harry’s room was the cupboard under the stairs.
Harry during his first 11 years knew nothing of who he was or indeed who his parents were, however, that was about to change when despite his uncle trying to keep a schooling invite from Harry, a hoard of Owls delivering the same invite ensured that he eventually did, around that time Harry meets the uninvited Hogwarts game-keeper Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) who does tell Harry more perhaps than he was supposed to…..Hagrid was to become a dear friend and indeed mentor and would teach Harry much over the next few years, but, right now introduces the youngster to a secret Wizards shopping mall where Harry would need to buy the books etc he needed at Hogwarts and indeed his first wand, but, he has no money, but will learn at the bank his father has left him well provided for.
At the Mall, Harry is surprised to learn that he is indeed well known and in fact famous, seems everyone knows more than he does.
Off to Hogwarts on the school’s train which can only be caught by using platform Nine and 3/4’s.
On the train he shares a compartment with Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) a cautious person who follows one step behind as will become obvious, Harry will also meet up with Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) who is always it seems as will prove to be the case, one step ahead and pretty handy
with her wand, both will become friends for life and always no-matter what by Harry’s side when needed.
Harry had with i the company of Hagrid seen many wonders he’d previously known nothing of, even learning himself to be a Wizard though down the years strange unexplainable things had occurred.
When arriving at Hogwarts he again finds everybody knows who he is, and he was the ”one that had survived”
Many of the schools tutors that had known Harry’s parents will help him learn of the powers that he has including Hogwarts Head, Albus Dumbledore: (Michael Gambon who after the first two films had replaced the late Richard Harris)
Dumbledore took Harry under his wing some.
Among the Tutors Professor Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) the mysterious and seemingly stern teacher who through the years Harry would be wary of despite knowing that Dumbledore had much faith in Snape, would Harry’s doubts be proved right?
Harry becomes a popular student in fact a leader except to Malfoy (Tom Felton) an ongoing adversary and would embark on many dangerous tasks with his close friends never far away he also competed in challenges and house/school games such as Quidditch which he proved to be very good at.
Harry leans much about his parents and how they had died at the hands of the evil and powerful Wizard Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) who has until now been in obscurity but with the emergence of Harry at Hogwarts is striving to regain both his Presence and considerable powers in the hope of finishing what he’d started years before by killing Harry.
Harry will have to have mmastered and harnessed all the powers he has if he is to avenge the parents. he’d not known.
    A showdown inevitable.
A superb series to watch or re-watch on whatever format you can, though, if you can, I do recommend the 4k.
    #FOOTNOTE –
With young viewers in mind, be aware that several episodes more-so later-ones, are very dark

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNow, as far as a blu ray collective goes, this one is not the greatest. It comes in a nicely printed sleeve and box but every 2 movies share the same cardboard in a strange slot fashion so no button to remove the discs, they just slide into a slot which might cause issues if you bought anything but Blu Ray discs since I can see them scratching regular dvds. The discs also will slide and fall out if you hold it the wrong way around. Also the discs all have the exact same turquoise print so no seperate art which is very bland

The print is fine, pretty nice and clear with some grain but that’s to be expected and it isn’t enough to sour any experience on all discs. CG hasn’t held up with the first two films but the rest are great. Oddly enough only the last 3 movies have a interactive menu. Each movie has an extras disc with a fair amount of content so it’s great for fans.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe complete set of HP films plus some bonus material.
The reviews seem to mention a problem with the packaging and the way the disks are contained.
It’s true they aren’t in individual plastic DVD folders like you’d get if buying the single movie. There is a main outer cardboard sleeve which contains card wallets inside.
NOTE- As long as you are careful when you line up the openings the correct way round and place the individual folders inside correctly its fine. If you take care whilst doing it there are no problems at all. If you stick them in any way round randomly then yes, the disks may well fall out when you begin to open them. It’s not difficult, just needs a bit of care.
All the films played correctly with no issues and the quality seemed fine throughout.
For the price it’s a nice set and a must for any HP fans.
As far as I know these ARE the original movie versions of the films, not like the slightly edited versions that were on TV recently (that my daughter recorded and noticed the odd rude word of scary scene had been cut out!)
The ones in this set are the unedited versions.

    Harry Potter on blu Ray!
The films just get better and better as the series progresses! Some dodgy CGI in the first couple of films doesn’t ruin what have surely now become family classics!
Picture quality is a slight improvement over the dvd releases but could be a bit better! The first two have slightly soft pictures and the rest as the films progress and become a bit darker in tone (and darker in picture!) have a slightly grainy quality to them….I’m sure they’ll be another release further down the line hopefully! But I’m happy with these!
The version I got was the 2016 release with a new slipcover over the boxset which made it seem like it was a bit better quality packaging! The discs themselves come in cardboard sleeves inside the box which can mean they just drop out of not handled properly,so beware! But it was great value at the price I paid at the time of purchase! Just wish they had the final two films in 3D blu Ray as well…I had to purchase those separately!

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersNavigating the various editions of Harry Potter on Blu-Ray Disc is a bit of a minefield with numerous incarnations featuring different audio options and special features. To make it even more complicated, WB’s latest combines the first disc of the first editions with a new Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio track (along with the previously existing PCM 5.1 track), and the special features Blu-Ray Disc from the Ultimate Editions, omitting the 3rd DVD included in the UE’s from 1 & 2. Yeah. I know.

You don’t get the extended cuts from 1 & 2, but you do get the full Creating the World of Harry Potter Documentary series, spanning 8 parts on 8 different bonus discs. To get the full package, you need to own this box set along with the Ultimate Editions of 1 & 2, which include the extended cuts of both movies and the Picture-in-Picture Commentary with director Chris Columbus. As far as I know, the UE’s of 3-8 don’t include any special features not in this box set, so at least there’s that.

There’s still no mention of the longer cuts of 3 & 4 running on American Television; regardless of the ‘improvements’ of these added scenes, it’s baffling they’re being broadcast and are not available in even the most extensive box sets.

All in all this is an extensive, but not the most extensive box set out there. It’s easily supplemented with two additional purchases; whether that’s worth your money is all up to you.
