Hasbro Gaming Classic Operation Game, Electronic Board Game
Hasbro Gaming Classic Operation Game, Electronic Board Game with Cards, Indoor Game for Kids Ages 6 and Up
Start the game by placing each ailment in the matching space on the gameboard. Will your child help Cavity Sam with his pulled muscle or the frog in his throat? | On their turn, they’ll use the tweezers to try removing one of the ailments from its position without touching the sides. | Try to avoid the “buzz” or Cavity Sam’s nose will light up. Then, it’s the next player’s turn. The game is over once all of the ailments have been removed and the player with the most ailments wins! |

Bought this for a family fun games night on Christmas evening. We are a family who like to have regular games nights. We wanted something from our childhood and we forgot how good it was.
It is a very fun game and my children love to see me jump every time the nose beeps. Things I did not like the pieces are far too tiny so it makes it very difficult to play and can be frustrating for little ones. And the pieces are so small they can get lost very easily.
Great game, took me back to my childhood.
Only niggle was that the delivery sticker was stuck directly to the games box, no additional outer packaging. This was a gift & wasn’t able to remove without slightly ripping the box.
Other than that they loved it.
The game has everything with it, cards, plastic bones and it already has batteries inside. There is a small plastic bag inside the box to store everything in and instructions came with it too. I’m glad I bought it as its fun to play.
I remember having this game as a kid and the buzzing sound was alot louder. With this one the buzz isn’t as loud which is a good thing. It’s a fun game for the family to play together.
This game must be 40 years old and the kids love it. A simple concept but entertaining over and over.
The buzzer is not as loud as I expected but apparently it has been quietened sine the original design.
One of the features Amazon asked me to rate was “Easy to remove”….
This game may have been out years, but it’s a game that will always be fun. I use to play it with my parents now I’m playing it with my grandchildren.
It is a little bit on the expensive side for what is basically a cardboard and paper board game but it is still as fun to play as ever. And far harder than I remember. It is best suited for an older child – I would say at least 7+. Some of the pieces could be used for smaller hands but most are too tricky. You’ll need to keep an eye on where they put the pieces – lots of things to get lost very quickly. They don’t really provide a suitable keep safe so we would use a bowl. Even if they are setting the alarm off left right and centre they don’t seem to mind. Still a family classic.
Maybe I have a nervous child but she literally jumped backwards in terror when it buzzed/shook and refused to ever play it again.
However, I got the best video that still makes me giggle months later.
My 4 year old got this in her stocking at Christmas and she absolutely loves it. We play it together at least once a week. Its very good for hand/eye coordination. I don’t think the game is as sturdy or well made as it used to be when I was younger but we still have fun playing.
Loved this as a child and my son asked for one, the quality is no where near as good as they used to be. But still had fun with this on Christmas Day
Can’t beat the old school classics the Grandchildren can have lots of fun with their mum and dad keeps them off the Ipads or watching Netflix for an hour or so
both my children had this game when younger and had great fun so this has been bought for my 7 year old grand daughter as a xmas present. she has had one before but the piece rhat picks up to small pieces is broke so cant play it so this is a replacement game and hope she has as much fun as i remember we did in the past as a family playing this.
The game itself is fantastic, the kids love it but unfortunately I received one with quite a few missing parts.
Had to return and purchase from a store and make sure the parts where all in there before I left as a few people have said the same issue.
What a great training tool. I am currently a surgical junior in a well known hospital in the UK. The resident surgeons will not let me near a scalpel, tweezers or those forecep thingies.
I can now say I am a master at removing the bread from the bread basket and can remove a broken heart. ( Can’t mend it though )
Anyways I am about to go scrub up to preform my first surgical procedure on a real human. I have 2 AA batteries to insert into his rectal cavity and I will keep pulling stuff out with tweezers till his nose turns red and he vibrates off the slab.
Wish me and my patient luck.

I finished playing a full game with my partner not an hour ago, so this review is fresh from the actual experience of this board game to all of you who are thinking of buying this product!
Contrary to what other buyers seem to have experienced, judging from their respective reviews, the game is neither too difficult nor to easy to play. The spaces where all the ‘ailments’ are supposed to be set are just narrow enough for the game to provide the player with some challenge, otherwise it would indeed be a walk in park! All the ‘ailments’ are included, as is a set of cards. That might be a variation to other versions of Operation as there is only one deck of ailment cards with an item description (in tongue-in-cheek verse) and the value that each ‘extraction’ will credit to the player(s). Therefore, those of you who are familiar with a distinction between ‘doctor-‘ and ‘specialist cards’ may be disappointed. However, in actual practice, this differentiation just makes the game a tad simpler without any negative impact on gameplay enjoyability. In addition, the batteries needed are included as well.
On the negative sife of things, what prevented us from giving this version a full 5-star rating was the fact that the buzzer does not actually ‘buzz’. Rather, the whole board vibrates every time the tweezers touch the metal frames but no sound is ever produced. At the time of writing this, the seller has been contacted and a relevant inquiry has been made regarding this issue as it might just be consistent with this version of the game. An update will be made as soon as we hear back from them.
All in all, this board game makes for a very enjoyable experience and this particular version is almost devoid of flaws, and at a good price too!
