The Hasbro Gaming Cluedo board game is a great choice for anyone looking for a fun and engaging mystery game. This reimagined version of the classic detective game has been a blast for my family and friends. We’ve had hours of fun trying to figure out who the killer is and what weapon they used.
The game is great for 2 – 6 players, and it’s suitable for both kids and adults. The instructions are easy to understand and follow, so there’s no need to worry about any confusion. The game pieces are also well made and quite durable.
The game itself is quite challenging and requires a lot of strategy and deduction. Each player has to move around the game board and make deductions in order to figure out the mystery. It can get quite intense, but that’s part of the fun!
It doesnt change over time, all the character and all of the rules, weapons and rooms remain the same. However, our version goes back to when my parents were children so it has been in the family for many year, and yes it is now extremely weathered.
It is nice to see that the old classics are still appreciated. Each sunday after Sunday dinner we all sit down as a family and every week each child takes it in turns and picks a Sunday activity, either a film or board/card game or a battle with toys.
For the past few weeks, this Cluedo has been a regular feature and even the kids have been playing with each which is really great to see.
This is a great set too, I have never seen a new version before so it is nice to play again with actual making notepads that havent yet been copied over and over.

A fun ‘escape room’ game that gets everyone involved, it took us about 2 hours to play (but maybe that was due to the wine that accompanied the play)
I have seen that there are more titles available and I’ll definitely be buying another one for the next rainy day!
This is definitely an improvement on the original game I grew up playing. It’s very good quality with the characters, murder weapons and board more detailed than the original. The instructions are very clear if you’ve not played before or great for a refresher for those that haven’t played for a while.
2-6 players and gameplay takes 45 minutes to an hour or so. I loved it as a kid and now will enjoy playing with my children too.
This is a classic game but we needed a refresher on the rules as it had been a long time since we past played this in our household. Thankfully rules are clear and easy to understand. This is a great boardgame that is fun for the whole family. The board itself is good quality, with good thickness and clear print. The game peices are all good quality and the game comes with bespoke little note paper for making your notes on, with lots of sheets for plenty of games. Classic game that is a lot of fun.
This has all you want for an enjoyable family game time. The characters are of a plastic material and the weapons are metal-like. The base board is of a thick material, which fold neatly away for storage. There is a comprehensive set of instructions.
I love Cluedo haven’t played it since I was a kid, this is a great revamp. Looks much more modern, I love the newly designed characters on the box whilst still keeping the same luxurious mansion vibe. The quality is excellent and durable enough to stand the test of time a bit like the game itself. If you’ve not played it before there’s been a murder and each character must investigate but are also suspects. You must determine who murdered them, where and with what. The recommended age range is 8 plus and for 2-6 players, I do like that on the box it gives the approximate length of time to play the gamewhich is 45 minutes, more games should do that.

Now I haven’t ever played the classic Cluedo and neither has my partner, so we approached this as a new game.
It comes in a slim, sleek box. All of the artwork is very nice – the box cover, the inserts, and the playing board. The inserts are definitely a nice touch 🙂 The miniature figures look cool, and I really like the look of the weapons.
The game itself is really simple to set up and play. We played a 2 player game so there was a slight variation. Set-up is about 8 short steps long, and then there are 2 main actions to do on each turn. You roll the dice to move (1), and make suggestions about who you think the killer is, what weapon etc.(2), and then players show cards from their deck. You mark off on your sheet as you go along, to figure out the answer through process of elimination. The clue cards add an extra element to play – helping you or other players along the way. If you strategise and are able to keep note of what the other players have asked or suggested, it can definitely help you win.
Overall I would recommend this game. It’s fun for adults to play, and it’s simple enough that adults could include kids from ages around 10+ (the box says 8+ but I think 10 is more appropriate)
It’s been years since I’ve played this game, but it is without doubt one of the classics. This is exactly as I remember it !
Well made, high quality board and pieces. And good instructions (it’s probably been 30 years so I needed a refresher on how to play).
This is great for up to 6 people. My kids are getting to the age now when board games are an option & they both quite enjoyed a game of this last night !
Definitely happy to recommend. A welcome addition to every game cupboard.

The family favourite game just got updated. The same classic game with a modern twist. All aspects have been updated, the board, playing pieces and weapons. Definitely recommended!.
The games needs assembling before the 1st game begins. It’s not complicated but it’s much easier to do by adults, the stickers are not easy to peel off the backing paper and you have to accurately put on to the discs and characters. Read the instructions carefully. You only have to do this once and its worth doing properly. We have had a lot of fun playing the game with 7 and 8 year old grandchildren.
I loved this game. A bit of a twist to an escape room with a basis of group cludo.
I would buy this range again but going slightly trickier. It did take around 2 hours to complete but the puzzles could have been a bit harder for our 14-35 age range.
This is a great introduction to Cluedo. I played this with my 7 year old recently, I feel that is the perfect age for it. He absolutely loved it and keeps asking for rematches. Rather than the normal Cluedo, this is finding out who broke the toy, in what room and what time the incident took place. The pieces are not flimsy at all, they are made very well and he is now asking to play the big kids version.
The aim of the game is to find out who broke the toy (there is no murder involved!), and in order to win you must find which toy was broken and at what time. As with the original game you move around the house trying to find clues which are hidden underneath characters and pieces of furniture. The dice offers opportunities to look underneath these items, as do specific spaces in each of the rooms. You then mark these off on your notepad which the boys really enjoyed. To get them into the game we decided to play an ‘open’ game for our first go where we could all see what each other was marking off so that they got the hang of it. The rules are really simple and easy to understand and had our first proper game straight after with one of them winning.
The game changes on every play so you need to remember to remove all the characters and furniture from their place holders and mix them up (this creates the unique game). We also took a scan of our notepad so we could print more for when we inevitably run out…we have played it lots and would definitely recommend.
