The aerial is a lot smaller than I thought it would be but works perfect in the TV in my kitchen. You can hide it behind tv and works away from a window or outside wall.
Was sceptical this would work for my TV in the kitchen. As otherwise reviews have said, you need to ensure that Ariel is in the right place to work, but once I had that it gave me as good a picture and as many channels as a much larger Ariel in my loft does.
This is a really good quality aerial, very compact but solid and robust. In terms of channel, I didn’t even have to retune, all the channels came back (accept sky news which seems to happen with most aerials). Picture quality and surprisingly sound is very good. Maybe one small concern is that I reckon the aerial has to be raised higher, or at least to the same height as TV for excellent reception.
Great aerial. Use it in my bedroom and have really good picture. Like the magnet on it so it can sit on top of my TV. Just plugs into your TV.
I bought this to get freeview for the TV in my bedroom. It was simple to install and I didn’t have to drill anything as the base of the aerial is magnetic, so it now hangs from my curtain rail. I am able to get all channels and have happy viewing.
An absolutely tiny yet well built aerial. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much but we actually have this as our main TV aerial just sitting alongside the TV. Plugged in and tuned – we now have a TV signal as good as or better than we did in London – and that was with a powerful booster! It was either this or spending several hundred quid to get a new aerial socket added to the living room. Total bargain.
Used in bedfoom, good picture. Had to order another one as previous one was never handed to me at this address, so someone had a freebie! Good item been using these for years.
I was a bit skeptical after reading reviews but I’ve been using the aerial for a few weeks now and receive all the freeview channels. Picture quality is great however a few channels can be a bit shakey if it’s a windy day, hence why I only gave it 4 stars. The value for money is really good and it’s a small design so doesn’t look unsightly.
This is so small. I wondered if it was going to be any good when I took it out the box. Once I Installed it I was pleasantly surprised how well it received all the free view channels and the quality of the pictures. Im about to get a second one for the tv upstairs.
I couldn’t be happier with this indoor aerial! I’ve been using a NowTV box for over a year to watch Channels 1-5 after moving house. Where I live is quite high up and when I moved in I was told that I couldn’t have an external aerial because of high winds. I looked into having an aerial installed in my loft, but it was costly and I was getting by with the NowTV box. A friend of mine bought one of these indoor aerials a couple of weeks ago and recommended it to me. For the money I thought that it was worth taking a gamble and I’m glad I did. 166 channels found within minutes of it been delivered! Nice clear picture! Very happy!
Worked as hoped, the wire is fairly short is the only reason I didn’t 5 star it, as with a longer wire I could’ve put the antenna in a better spot, but otherwise it works fairly well for most channels.
I don’t have an aerial point in my bedroom and my tv needs the connection to run the apps like iplayer etc. So I looked into these types of aerials and thought I’d give it a go as a simple solution. And it had solved my problem, apps all work fine. Have to fiddle around and move it for tv signal sometimes (mainly bbc) but when you find it, it works fine. Doesn’t pick up HD channels but it’s not amplified so wasn’t really expecting it to.
Excellent cheap solution, no complaints
This aerial is excellent, it was able to detect a large variety of channels, analog, digital and radio. I would thoroughly recommend it, particularly for areas that struggle with signals.
For the price paid, it’s a very good quality aerial, perfect for anyone who don’t have much space as its tiny & good signal, very easy to setup & use & its magnetized to metal, so it stays in place too! Would recommend to others.
After my very expensive outdoor aerial failed last week I found myself in a pickle, do I lash out 150-250 for an engineer to come out and replace my failed aerial or do I just rely on streaming TV.
I quickly realised that streaming wasn’t enough so I was thinking of calling an engineer when I thought of looking on Amazon to see what options they offered. I’m so glad that I did.
Of all the indoor/portable options available (and there are lots) I chose this one and to be honest I had little faith in it actually doing the job. Oh me of little faith!
It arrived yesterday in its tiny box (this thing is really TINY) and putting it together was a cinch. I unplugged my old lead and plugged this one in then sat back on my sofa. I switched the TV on and opted for tuning.
I sat and watched the blue bar move from left to right and no numbers were showing so I felt vindicated that this wouldn’t work then all of a sudden it started to find channels, I was overjoyed!
I remember my old aerial clocked up over 300 channels (I never knew there were so many) and this one clocked up 44 but that was likely down to the fact I’d just placed the aerial on the sideboard by the TV.
I relocated it by the window and did a retune, this time it found 106 channels so I left it there and counted my blessings.
I then went through all the stations I regularly use and the only one that was missing was Sky News on channel 233.
To conclude, for the doubters out there, if you need a TV aerial in a hurry that offers pretty good coverage for the outlay then buy this one, it REALLY DOES WORK.
This was incredibly easy to set up, just screwing the antenna onto the base. The base is nice and heavy as well, ensuring that the ariel does not get knocked around easily. Doesn’t matter where you put this, it picks up a signal. Only issue is that from time to time, the signal does drop out, but this is not too often so it is not a massive issue. Would recommend if you want an easy portable or small ariel for a TV that cannot have something a bit more permanent in place
I took a chance on buying this on a Black Friday deal, despite numerous warnings of it not being returnable. I’ve never been able to get Freeview where I used to live, but used the Freeview website postcode checker first and it said I could get 45 channels. So I thought I’d give it a go.
I live in an old house with thick walls, so thought I was taking a risk with such a little aerial (I don’t have a main aerial, I only have Sky) but still, I plugged it into my bedroom TV and set it to auto scan. It took a few minutes, but 37 channels appeared and all crystal clear! Still, I was perplexed though – the website said 45 channels and I only got 37. I re-ran the tuning process several times but kept getting the same. Frustrating! Then I realised it was actually all the HD channels that were missing! Even more frustrating! And then, with a little bit of research, after holding the aerial responsible, I realised my 5 year old TV only has Freeview built in, not Freeview HD! DUH!!!! So it wasn’t the aerials fault at all, despite the TV being capable of a HD picture (as in through Sky), it doesn’t have a Freeview HD tuner, so simply cannot pick up the HD channels! I admit, I did feel a bit stupid!
So to summarise – the little aerial is great! I’ve knocked off a star for the no return policy which I’ve NEVER seen before on Amazon Prime! It’s quite shocking really and I don’t understand and wonder if it’s an error? There’s absolutely no reason this should not be able to be returned.
What I will say, is CHECK YOUR POSTCODE FOR THE CHANNELS YOU CAN RECEIVE FIRST! The website is there to help and is incredibly accurate. I tried the aerial on my newer TV and got all the HD channels as well, so indeed got the 45 channels promised. I believe in some areas it’s possible to get over 100 Freeview channels! But not where I live. And that’s ok because the website told me exactly which channels I would get, and hey, they’re free!
DON’T just expect to plug it in and be guaranteed channels, and don’t expect to plug it in and for the channels to magically pop up without tuning your TV! I can’t help but wonder if a lot of the negative reviews are due to user error? After all, I was blaming it for having no HD channels, and it wasn’t the aerial at fault at all, it was me being thick!
I’m really delighted with it, but please do check your areas service first because that no return policy is a kicker. I might even email the seller about that because I’m sure it can’t be right? Can it?
